For people (including Jay) who've finished story mode, if you're still wondering who now runs Grizzco, you'll notice that Grizzco now has a new statue in replace of the old one and Lil' Judd now has a headset. It is now rumored that Lil' Judd is now running the pre-recorded messages of Salmon Run.
waiiiit a minute...lil'judd just appeared in splatoon 2 right? and he's fuzzier than Judd, could be be made from the furry ooze? Or if not, somehow be on Mr.Grizz's side, would explain why he's continuing salmon run, as technically there's no need for golden eggs anymore, unless, he is his successor? He IS a mammal. :o

tartar was disappointed in the world and wanted to just end it all. grizz wanted to restore it to how it was. that's the difference in a nutshell
Honestly i loved the reason why tartar was dissapointed. The AI didn't seem to realize that turf wars were just friendly battles in the end. The first alterna log seems to imply that humanity perished in a nuclear war, so it just saw this "new civilization" just making the same errors as humans, fighting for no reason, and not wanting to see another enormous war (and possibly being destroyed in it), it decided that it'll destroy them itself, because they weren't worth redeeming.
@@_piranha In Tartar’s defense, the Great Turf War was a legitimate war over land. For a time, he’s completely justified in thinking that this new species is no better than humanity.
I thought Tartar wanted to create an ultimate lifeform, which is why continuously tested Octarians blended up those who passed

To be honest... The fact that most of us theorised that mr griss is the final boss & in the end it turns out to be true feels like a sweet treat & the inkantation remix is sick

@@LycanMOON With how well Splatoon 3 sold (literally broke the record in Japan for opening weekend sales, including huge series like Dragon Quest), there's no way this is the last Splatoon game. It's the last in the current trilogy's storyline, but no way Nintendo won't continue to capitalize on its popularity.

fun fact! after beating the story mode, Mr. Grizz's phone speaker thingy is replaced with one of hugefry eating a bear, instead of the bear eating a salmon

I really like what we saw of Octavio in this game, but I wish we got more. I guess he always only appeared once per game before though.
Unless he's part of the dlc! I'm personally betting on that, there feels like a lot of things in story mode left specifically vague so we can explore it later, like what octavio was up to before/after.
I’m glad we got to be on the same side. Octavio is unironically one of my favorite characters, so not having to pound him into the ground again (minus the misunderstanding at the start of 3) and getting to drive his mech was a treat

If you think about it, Cuttlefish and Agent 3 were mentioned in Splatoon 2’s Hero Mode, and Octo Expansion would proceed to follow their story (well, Agent 8’s story, but they were there too). I’m thinking we’ll be seeing what Octavio was doing behind the scenes in the DLC.

Yeah, Tartar is disappointed that inklings and octolings are pretty much just amphibious humans society-wise.
In some ways, he was a counterpoint to Grizz's ideas.

I think so too, I mean SOMETHING’s going on with the zap fish. They keep mentioning how it looks different after each story. And they’re right, it seems to be getting smaller and smaller, I wonder what it’s about
There's also a promised DLC by Ninty...so were not done with Splatoon yet!
Another reason I also believe that this isn’t the end for splatoon is because I don’t think Nintendo would just throw away such a good idea and IP permanently. There’s gonna be something more

In an interview for Splatoon 2, it was insinuated that Grizz doesn't even watch us work half the time and a lot of the commentary we hear from him during our shifts were pre recorded.
Now that he's gone after the story mode, it's insinuated that Lil Judd has taken over because he now has a headset and the best statue has changed, and he's just playing those pre recorded messages.
And another detail on Ark Polaris' map - as well as those signs in English warning of bears, you can find bear tracks! We know now those belong to Grizz.
Plus his tableturf deck is all salmonids and he has a grizzco card sleeve. It’s basically confirmed he’s working there now
Well Grizz was bear #03, which hints at there being multiple bears. So some of the tracks probably aren't even his.

Basically, there’s a sunken scroll which shows that after inklings evolved into their current forms, there was a giant flood that almost destroyed the world again, but 3 lights appeared and united to stop the flood.
Dj octavio, the squid sisters and deep cut just casually going back in time to sing calamari inkantation 3mix and it got engraved on the inkling's mind for the rest of eternity

I loved when Mr. Grizz said "it's Grizzin' time!" & Grizzed all over the planet.
I literally cried during the credits 😭 just the realization that this thing that’s been in my life for SEVEN years is finally over. This amazing story that I’ve been so into since I was 10. It’s crazy I love splatoon so much. Such a big impact on me.
It’s not over. Nintendo isn’t ending one of their top franchises after 7 years. It’s gonna be around for a rly long time

For the record, giving an animal fur does *not* make it a mammal. If that ooze REALLY DOES make anything it touches a mammal specifically, then that would mean all their organs and the structure of their bodies change too.
in the bad ending we see the fur failed, and that the planet just became unhabitable

In case anyone is wondering, it's said in a Splatoon 2 developer magazine interview that it's very likely that the Grizz we talk to on the radio is a pre-recorded message. At least it explains all his repeating dialog.
Well the way he talk is like tartar , so it's not suprise that he become the next boss ?
It also explains why you still hear Mr. Grizz in Salmon Run after beating story mode. Mr. Grizz no longer runs Grizzco so Lil Judd does instead.

idk if anyone mentioned this already, but I like how when you beat the story mode, Mr. Grizz's statue changes to a bear being eaten by a salmon, very fun detail
Tbh I feel bad for Mr. Grizz. Imagine going away for a while (in this case around 12000 years) falling asleep, and waking up to see that everything you know and love is gone. I would want revenge, too.
Also even though this will never be an in-game thing, I hope Octavio and Cuttlefish are homies again. And I also hope everyone learned their lesson about conflict between inklings and octolings :/
I mean cuttlefish says post game that he’s surprised that Octavio’s not half-bad so I guess there’s some of that, although it’d be great to see them interact in the DLC

A few little details that are left after completing the story!
1) After beating the story mode, Lil Judd now has a new headpiece! This doesn't appear until after you beat the story mode, and since Splatoon 2 implied that all of Mr Grizz's lines from Salmon Run are pre-recorded, it's implied that Lil Judd has taken over Grizz Co. Industries...
2) You never got to see it, but SmallFry will actually start singing the Calamari Inkantation if you stand next to the Squid Sisters down in Alterna for a bit! How cute!
And 3) The Mr. Grizz statue in the Salmon Run Office changes from a bear holding a fish in his mouth, to a giant fish holding a bear in its mouth!
Another detail is that he has a Salmonid themed Tableturf deck.

Since we see Octavio's spaceship not having any heat shields which implies means that Earths atmosphere has become less dense. Which means it has less of a drag effect on aircraft/spacecraft. Using this information, its safe to assume that Ark Polaris crashed into Earth with a very high velocity. Meaning, that if there are any Human survivors they must be badly injured.
The last Alerna Log specifically says "Reentry was not kind to its inhabitants-all perished, save one. Bear #03 [...] survived."
@@cptnkaladin1312 Oh i seem to have forgotten about that. Look on the bright side of things. The landing module in the map "Ruins of Ark Polaris" seems to have no water damage. It also seems pretty intact implying it was either landed or discoverd. If it was landed they wouldnt need much fuel to resist gravity since there is not much friction with such a thin atmosphere.
I would want to know their secret to survival if they did live through that

It is the intented strat. There’s fences for the rolling bomb thingy. And the boxes are there to stop you from just walking across cause you need smallfry for the boxes.
One thing I think I will miss after splatoon 3, is probably mr.grizz himself. Idk, he's just so cuddly and polite in that weirdly backhanded polite soulless corporate way. Plus I like that the art team made him a literal giant teddy bear. I just can't find him menacing like that, I want a plush of the guy

I really hope the dlc has more octavio, he’s still my fave character in the main series and I just want to see more love of him in general!!! also alterna was so interesting and the lore was so much fun to read (and explain to my poor family members who just want to know why theres squid kids 😭😭)

I collected everything before the final level so I read all the scrolls and I got goosebumps when Shiver and Frye mentioned the lights that consumed the great disaster when Lil Buddy was transforming, cause I immediately thought back to the scroll about the great flood that got stopped by the giant lights and was like "IT WAS PROBABLY A SALMONID THAT STOPPED THE DISASTER" It was cool how having that info affected that moment for me and made me glad I got everything this time
Also Tartar was made (By the professor before he passed due to the first nuke disaster that wiped out most of humanity) to pass on humanities knowledge to the next sentient species that appeared on Earth, but after seeing Inklings and Octolings go through turf wars and their focus on fashion, decided that they weren't worthy of the knowledge and wanted to get rid of them, taking the best of them and turning them into a weird dna goo to make a new species that he thought would be deserving of what was left of humanities knowledge to them instead
Mr Grizz on the other hand, after seeing that sea creatures were now the main species on earth after waking up again, thought that this wasn't right and wanted to make mammals the number 1 species on land again. So he takes the knowledge and crystals from Alterna (Leftover from humans) and using his own fur and golden eggs for production, makes fuzzy ooze to turn everyone into mammals, back to what he believed how Earth was meant to be
(Judd was cryogenically frozen and given something that basically made him immortal by the professor, and Lil Judd is a clone that was set to be created after Judd woke up so he wouldn't be lonely, sorrowfully Lil Judd knows he is a clone and hates the original Judd)

i hope the DLC dwells into how Octavio created their machine as after the first confrontation hes gone from the story till the very end, it would be nice to see how he acted after his lost and how he learned that their land was in danger. also, i love he says "OUR" not "MY" to show hes on our side for real for once.
I cried at the end cause these games bring me so much joy. It was great to see all these stories come together and I can’t wait for the eventual DLC. BOOYAH to all
Who knew that Jaymoji’s entire album was actually just a prophetic vision about the splatoon 3 story mode
The slowed down Grizzco jungle at the start, warped and blown out to specifically make the sound both too "warm" and giving it a fuzzy sound overlay. The audio engineering at Nintendo know how to make a nerd gal swoon. XD This is just pointing it out for people who didn't notice it too.
I’ve been so excited to see Jay’s reaction to the final boss and After Altera!! The whole end sequence really made this game feel like the last in the series and what a great ending it is
Tartar's sanitation is different from Grizz's Fuzzification. Tartar believed the inklings and octolings were too stupid to be even be worth wasting the professor's advice on, advice that was meant to help the next intelligent life not make the same mistakes as humans. Instead, he decided to make his own superior race by blending octolings that passed his tests, the sanitized octolings.
Grizz is different. He's trying to use the fuzzy ooze to make the marine-life-based lifeforms into mammals, which is implied by the existence of the fuzzy octarians. Personally, my belief is that it doesn't work out the way Grizz wants it to, and instead we get the "full body beard" that Cuttlefish explains to us. I don't think Grizz was trying to kill all marine life, I think he was just trying to use the Fuzzy Ooze to turn all marine life into mammals, mostly out of isolation. Kind of easy to be sympathetic for him if you ask me.
Also, considering that the inklings and octolings are pseudo-immortal (resurrection through ink submersion), this might be the best way to incapacitate an inkling, considering they can phase through objects. Irrelevant, but interesting.

After completing Hero Mode, going to Grizzco has something new! The Bear holding a Salmon statue has been replaced with a Salmon holding a Bead statue. Also when playing online, Lil Judd now has a headset/earpiece on at all times. It’s implied that HE took over Grizzco. Also when playing salmon run now it’s still Grizz’s voice. It’s implied that what you’re hearing is either TTS or everything is pre recorded.
Also if you play Tableturf against Lil Judd he has a Salmon Run themed deck
there's an interview with the developers of splat2 where they confirmed the statue's dialog is prerecorded
the difference between grizz and and tartar's plans was grizz tried to bring mammals back, tartar tried to reset all life and start from scratch
My favorite detail is that when u go back to salmon run the mr grizz statue is replaced by one of hugefry. It’s so cuteeee I love all the little details!!!

As someone from Florida who has actually been there and been the closest you can be to a rocket before it can go up, I can say that they nailed the slightly queasy, mysterious disbelief.

edit: I’m glad I’m not the only one who went insane with that final boss. what a great ending
I had some issues but they were mostly resolved by treating the fight as an endurance battle
Hey Jay!! I don’t know if you know this but after you complete the story mode you can see Mr. Grizz’s statue changes from the bear eating the fish to the huge smallfry eating a bear! It’s like when little buddy and him were fighting showing that the good guys won! Cool little Easter egg im not sure many people have noticed, but it’s a nice detail they added. Much love!!

Actually tar tar was created by a human to warn the next intelligent life to not make the same mistakes humanity made but when his days of waiting finally came too an end he grew disgusted at how the inklings and octolings started minor wars over fashion statements (what he didn’t realize was humanity was similar but worse) so he created a new prime directive for himself wipe out all inklings and octolings all life for another new race to become dominant and redo his previous prime directive then
So tartar became true artificial intelligence cause he can rewrite his own code
I Thought The Secret Level Would Take You ALOT Longer, Great Job, Jay!
Yeah, honestly the hero gear upgrades make a HUGE difference.
I wanted to beat every level with every weapon, without upgrading any of my gear.
And it took hours for me to beat that level with zero upgrades, but as soon as I upgraded everything, I beat it in 15 minutes.

Power eggs contain power. To power the ship. Gold eggs have more power. And Zapfish have ALOT of power... And also Captain Cuttlefish. I MEAN Ex-Captain Cuttlefish lost the crystals that made him become human-like. And since Agent 3's tears had the micro crystals, Craig was ressurrected.
Just watching the last kettle made my blood pressure skyrocket. If I ever get past the first stage, I’m gonna need to remember to take breaks cause WOOO THATS STRESSFUL
It was so stressful, it took me over an hour 😅
Some tips I learned while playing the secret kettle- to balance on the pillars that move, squid spurge is super helpful for that. Just time your jumps right or just fall off the side It took me like 2 hours of attempting and I finally did it but that was super helpful for me
That and inking the platforms that move at high speeds in the water cause the ink doesn’t go away when they go back underwater. Helped me with how fast they were moving lol
Also I am shook he did most of that level in one go
I failed for like an hour on the first half lol
The others weren’t as bad but oml

When Deep Cut first showed up when I was playing through, I got excited thinking there would be a boss fight against all 3 of them at once, similarly to The 3 Mage Sisters.

Seeing this series. You are one of the few ones who really reminded to change the aspect of the Captain (even use the Male Captain) in all the videos about the story mode is always the Female one because no one knew the drawing of the beginning.
I was trying not to spoil the secret kettle but I swear it was absolute pain when I did it I got to the final stage was about to beat it and splatoon crashed leaving me absolutely mortified and depressed after hours of trying to do it. I had a good cry for 5 mins and then went back and did it in 2 tries.
You did the secret kettle so easily, the second phase took me like 30 tries lmao respect

You had that gear in the beginning of the episode and in the previous episodes too because 3 of the upgrades can give you 1 part of the old hero gear back.

okay I got to be 110% real with you now that I've almost watched the entire video the fact that you got through so much of this game for the secret final level on your first try honestly mildly upsets me like I know you're way more skilled player than I am but the fact you didn't even struggle at all on the rail level you barely struggled on the parkour level which to be fair I barely struggled on that one but the fact you beat the inkling girl squad without spamming specials like they do by collecting the cans on your second try like gg man
