2015 Mineplex was the 'golden days' of my Minecraft experience through the years. I met many people during it especially from being staff at the time and I look back very fondly. Sad to see that it has suffered such a death ever since
Me too. That must've been the happiest and most blissful time of my life. It's a real shame I can never go on mineplex and enjoy it like I did back then. It'll never be the same as good ol' days...
I really miss the castle siege minigame from mineplex, there was just something special about 100 players on a map. 1/3 which are defending a castle of hordes of zombies, it felt like such a unique fun experience. the map was structured really well, the kits were fun, and fighting alongside many people to defend a big castle, while everyone else is a real player, it was really special to me unfortunately that minigame is long gone, I joined mineplex recently, and apparently it was removed, and it wouldn't have enough players for it anyways.
glad I wasn't just imagining that game. I've never had a game simulate Helm's Deep so perfectly, there's something so special about that feeling of being part of something bigger, feeling like both sides are the underdog, that hasn't been captured exactly similar since. hope Hypixel adds it!
I really enjoyed when Mineplex and Hypixel were big competitors because it was very interesting to see the unique gamemodes each respective server came up with to keep an edge over the other. That was truly the peak of minecraft server innovation.
I don't think it's too late for Mineplex. If they play their cards right, they can slowly build up a new and positive identity separate from their current one. I personally think the server still has lots of potential, but it will be a massive uphill battle. I can only hope for the best for Mineplex moving forward.
if they use youtubers for advertising it might not work as they think. youtube now is much different compared to then. back then it was lots of lets play (captain sparkles, dantdm, ect) but now it's a lot different. there aren't a lot of big minecraft creators that just do lets play anymore
Don't Readmore😡 . . . . . . . . . . You are now CURSED because u clicked readmore if you don't break the curse you will DIE, the only way to break the curse is to subscribe to my channel subscribe now
I miss playing Mineplex, (Rest in peace HiveMC, will be missed on Java) but it was heartbreaking to come back to the server in 2018 and seeing the mess of what it used to be, I even remember some mods going around giving people free ranks in order to boost player interest in the server, that was how I got Ultra.
Would love to see this kind of analysis on other large servers. There are so many good ones that I have fond memories of, yet nowadays I hardly even remember their names.
Mineplex holds a special place in my heart for providing minigames Hypixel wouldn't at the time. And there are still a few minigames on Mineplex I don't think I've seen on any other big server but would love to see. I used to be absolutely cracked at that minigame where you get a small build you get to look at for a few seconds and then have to mimic that build as fast as you can, and a lot of my memories with minigames stem from that. Though I do have a same fondness for Hypixels Build Battle, it's not the same as that minigame.
Makes me pretty sad, some of my favourite multiplayer games were unique to mineplex namely halloween havoc, Christmas chaos and super smash mobs and I hate that they are going to be pretty much gone forever if this keeps up
I left mineplex after being an active player for about 4 years in december 2019. My brother was at one point on the staff team, and also left at a similar time. Hypixel was just too much more advanced and had modes like skyblock which were just more enjoyable. The lag on mineplex, and before i got my new pc a year ago i had a laptop, which was strong enough to run mc. I could hold about 15 fps on mp and 40 with the same settings on hypixel. I was getting 130 ping on mp and only 90 on hypixel. Alot of the most known members of mineplex left after hypixel blew up, and i would guess about a 1/3 of the staff team resigned or were demoted in that year. The problem was never the staff team or the fact that there were too many hackers, it was the fact that there just werent enough devs and admins to control the server, and we got maybe 2 minor updates that year. A small part of me still misses gamemodes like dominate, but there was no point in staying, because we were seeing 500 players when there would have been 5 thousand 2 years prior. They tried to save it with the immortal rank, which was pretty much a subscription rank on top of eternal, like mvp++, but although people bought it (myself included), that only lasted a few months and to be honest i considered the server dead before i joined hypixel.
Immortal was a cheap attempt at a hail Mary if I've ever seen one, and VIP+ on Bedrock is even worse. And all we really got in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 from development (for the most part) is one big nothing burger.
Nearly all of the friends I know were from Mineplex; some I still keep in touch with, and at least one I still hang out with on a daily basis. I've always considered it to be the king of minigame servers because the minigames had a solid identity and level of polish that contributed to a central "skylands medieval fantasy" theme that I absolutely loved.
I really hope some kind of resurgence comes about, looking back I didn't know how good I had it. Even having to wait 30-60 minutes for a game of champions 5 years ago is better than a few days
@@bilbobaginutopi2284 I swear, I saw 17 players the other night in DOM. But odds are it's "dominated" by sweats at this point and average players stand no chance without a carry.
Clans was the shit, it was such a unique take on the Factions game mode. Despite not every game mode in MP being fun to me, there was something for everyone, and every game mode was populated. I've made many friends on that server that I still play with today in other games. But yeah... a lack of updates and support/polish as well as corrupt staff made the server pretty dully towards the beginning of its decline.
I was involved in a sting that exposed Jarvis of manipulation, grooming, and abuse and his response was to ban and legally threaten me and everyone involved, and then promote a 15-year-old girl who sent him nudes to Sr Mod immediately after. Chiss handing ownership to Jarvis was what started Mineplex's downfall. Absolute fucking clown, and their anticheat isn't any better.
@@OKayD3N There are many non-PvP gamemodes on Hypixel: Housing, SMP, Party Games, Dropper, Pixel Party, etc. I omitted SkyBlock intentionally. don't play skyblock
@@nightytime im guess it's just personal preference. in my opinion, what hypixel done right is it's polishness and how it mantains it's reputation. the gamemodes itself, while polish, are kinda basic, so maybe op just found those gamemodes to be boring
i must have thousands of hours on mineplex. i remember their minigame Wizards was wildly popular until they pulled it for seemingly no reason. the server definitely holds a special place in my heart, as my friends and i spent countless hours goofing off in middle and high school. it's still at the top of my server list, and it makes me sad to see the numbers slowly decline
Man I am so sad about this server. It was by far my most played server. I remember back in 2015 like you mentioned in the video on Halloween was the first time Mineplex hit 40 000 players online. I was with my friends in the lobby at that time, talking over Skype and waiting for the big 40k. I remember it like yesterday and it feels magical. We also got rewarded with 5 or 10 ancient chests, the second tier out of 3. Now those chests are pretty useless. I hope that this backend rewrite is going to go through well and potential new youtube collabs are going to work out in the end. I would hope to at least have 1000 active players...
At one point in time, I was running a community build team and community game insights team for Mineplex in an effort to bring back a game mode called Castle Siege. After about a year and a half of getting nowhere due to nobody listening to us, I basically just left the server in its entirety.
I remember playing on Mineplex back when I first got Minecraft all those years ago. Had so much fun playing Super Smash Mobs and that castle siege one (Even saw someone who was one hundred percent hacking in that one.) It’s always will be the server I remember the fondest. Hope to see it back in the limelight like it deserves
Super smash mobs was the shit, alongside turfs wars and that minigame where ender dragons would gobble up the map until one person survived. I've put hundreds of hours of my childhood into those. Sad times.
I've actually been binge watching minecraft content of all kinds for the past few months but only since watching this video do I realize none of them advertised a server to join when it used to be a common occurrence. Most projects seem to be on closed servers with a small network of creators and friends, I cant remember the last time I saw a public server ad.
honestly at the minimum, i just want these minigames to be preserved, one of the things Mineplex had over Hypixel was that it had completely new and different minigames, and.. i don't want them to be forgotten
I feel very sorry for the people trapped in the "popular" thing category. (The people who play the most popular thing.) They would feel like they wasted part of their life on something, I wish people didn't do this like some people I know.
Fr and when you play an obscure game that you find enjoyable they say some shit like "dead game lol", "That's an irrelevant game", "who even plays that" . Makes my blood boil.
@@EveninB yeah i had some of the best gaming fun playing an old flash game that was super dead, even still played it but not as actively, after the death of flash lol
im STILL on Mineplex!!! this is so weird to see because i never found out about any of this story until just this instant, and ive been wondering why the server has been dead for years! it is so amazing to see a retrospective like this!
The bigger they are (or were) the harder they fall. Sadly the same seems to be true for Mineplex. Next time i want to be depressed i'll make sure to watch a TheMisterEpic video sheesh
I remember playing Castle Siege - it had balance issues sometimes, but the main problem was that too many people didn't know how to defend effectively. When you had a core group of defenders who knew how to play and you didn't have fly hackers on the attacking side, it made for some great battles. Hopefully it can come back strong enough to make even games like Castle Siege that need a big crowd viable again. Either that or maybe someone else can make a similar game?
I’ve won my fair share of castle seige games as a wolf. They’re really good at distracting and taking down the tnt carriers because wolves don’t have worry about dying. But I do agree 90% of the time people didn’t know how to defend properly and would always fall back which made the things 10x worse.
@@PraiseHeavyLobster Yeah, wolves still have their value, but you can be much more effective before you turn into a wolf. Archers can take down the TNT carrier from a safe distance. Wolves can help, but to survive you need a good core group that did not die. When you have an organised team covering all the choke points and 1-2 reserves protecting the king just in case someone sneaks through somewhere, you've got every reason to think defenders can win. The problem was always getting those organised teams covering the choke points. People seemed to think it was a good idea to rush into a crowd of enemies and getting a couple kills before dying. And they seemed to think kills at the very front were valuable - the best kills were the ones halfway up the castle. Halfway up the castle means it took the attackers time to reach that point and it will take time to get there again, without being close enough to the king to have a chance of a breakthrough.
@@potatoskunk5981 yeah, Archers are also very effective at taking out undead and the tnt guys. There were a couple of spots I always went to that were great for taking out a ton of undead.
"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." -Dr. Seuss I hope that someday Mineplex can rise back up again. No matter what the devs do, it's the players that'll keep it alive, which I hope all of us will strive to do.
Mineplex was one of the servers automatically added to the bedrock server list. A lot of great memories. Me and my brother would put arrows in our off hand, and it wouldn't clear your off hand, so we got arrows every game.
Some of my favorite childhood memories are playing on mineplex with friends. My favorite game was definitely the hide and seek one (I can’t remember the name it’s been years lol). I loved the trails/effect things you could get, I had a really sick looking fire one that a really cool almost x shaped pattern when you stood still and would trail behind when you’d move. Sometimes we’d just hang out in the lobby doing the parkour stuff. It’s sad to see that it’s gone downhill but Minecraft multiplayer in general has changed a lot. Maybe it’s the nostalgia talking but I don’t think it’s as fun anymore
Now it really is the true death of Mineplex. Gone, but never forgotten. Mineplex will always be one of my favorite servers to have played on, right up there with Wynncraft. Weep not for what we have lost, but smile warmly for the memories we may treasure.
I have over 1k hours on Mineplex after playing it so much over the years, I’ve had so many good memories on it and really hope Mineplex comes back to life so that I could possibly make a few more.
God I loved playing mineplex so much, best memory was during a Halloween event they had a new rank that was about the top rank at the time, and during the event and playing with a friend I ended up getting the rank from a crate and freaked out for hours as it was seen as really rare at the time. Rip mineplex you made my childhood amazing
DUDE! I remember when they dropped the titan rank and you could get in the crates before they were able to be purchased. I actually got it and it announced it to the whole server I was freaking out for days. Good times.
The correct path is to make cakewars the key minigame. On bedrock it’s the most popular minigame and is no doubt the most fun. Adding new kits would improve the games quality and give players a chance to adapt and play to unlock them. Fixing the noticeably odd lag and hit detection to match servers like Cubecraft and the hive is a big point for me. Revamping the shop again and some of the kits as well will fix the issues that it suffers with builder kit being the only useable one.
If they plan on doing that, they're going to need frequent updates to it; more maps, more kits, more fun. Cake Wars is incredibly boring if you grind it out; you get the same rotation of maps, the same rotation of players, and the same rotation of hackers. It's a repetitive mess and it sucks. Being a Cake Wars main, though, I really do want the minigame to succeed; it's _really_ fun when you aren't totally burnt out from it.
In actuality they need to focus on unique game modes, not some small team PvP rehash of an already existing gamemode. Gamemodes like Castle Siege with huge player counts where the shit that made Mineplex stand out. Anyone could make some Cake Wars, Bed Wars shit. Thats why it wouldn't help them, everyone else is already doing it.
Thinking about Mineplex and The Hive makes me tear up. Those were my first experiences to true gaming that started in 1st grade. Now that ones shut down and the other is going to shut down, I feel like I'm physically losing a part of my childhood
its sad that when you search mineplex on yt, the videos which are shown first isnt the server’s minigame itself, but videos about it’s history, downfall, etc
I remember making an MPS and getting like 16 people on it to play games. Now I can't even play a game of Block Hunt without begging people to join, as most people are only in the lobby.
I tried to play on mineplex just the other day as I haven't played minecraft in years not knowing this and I was absolutely shocked at the complete lack of players
Mineplex paintball has been some of the most fun I’ve had playing Minecraft. I’ve spent tens of thousands of hours on Hypixel and still I feel mineplex paintball is a pretty perfect game. In all the time I played it, I almost encountered no hackers, and more importantly, it is a game that hacking didn’t effect much. I haven’t played it in a few years. No one plays anything on mineplex anymore. There simply isn’t enough players.
I was in contact with a Former Mineplex developer. Who worked for Mineplex's Bedrock Server. He said that there was a serious shortage of developers. Admins were only there for money. And now there's only one person working for the Mineplex Bedrock Server. Edit: I tried applying for developing it but I was rejected not just me I've heard multiple getting fired for different ideas or not being accepted.
Recently whenever I tried to play any gamemode on Mineplex, it just wouldn't start up. I couldn't any mention of the issue online, any couldn't get a response on the forum, so I just stopped playing. Issues like that generally cause people to stop playing which is sad because I love Mineplex.
i miss that minigame where you either had to defend the castle from monsters, or be a monster and get past the knights to kill the king, all before sunrise, when all the monsters die. i think they removed it, and it was one of the few games I played there. anyone know what I'm talking about and remember the name? it was great and I have so much nostalgia for it.
The wizards minigame was basically the only thing i played, once they removed it, they in turn "removed" me. I would still log on from time to time hoping the minigame would be back, in case they were just doing maintainance. Needless to say they never added it back
As a Bedrock player I've actually been playing Java for the past week simply because Bedrock is in such a boring and lifeless state. No new content there for the past year. Really sucks because I've been playing it since it was still Pocket Edition. At least Java functions and is playable unlike a large portion of Bedrock
imo the PvP is a lot more consistent in bedrock, and also bedrock servers have been getting updated so much wdym? (Also bedrock runs magnitudes better, but if you have a mid-high performance PC that isn't too much of an issue)
@@crazyman1234. the last real good update was a map update a few months ago if you can even count a map update to a be real update but that and before that it was over a year ago with cwm,
5:20 One of my hundreds of forum posts actually got me a cameo. But for real, what's happened to Mineplex over the past 5-6 years is tragic. Not even releasing their first new game in over 3 years can save them now.
RIP Mineplex, I have history with that server. I got banned for my name "DucksOnQuack" and had to change my ign, I played tf outta super smash mobs, and I won the titan rank on the server from the chest and it announced it to every single player on the server with my name it was awesome.
My heart fucking broke when i saw the thumbnail of this video. Anybody remember the coin party bombs? That shit was wild Edit: Just watched the video, I think the fundamental issue was also the moment they gave up on management issues and killed off many popular games, which was the final nail in the coffin, pissed off way too many people, and made it go from tens of thousands to only 1k average (at the time) in less than a week.
I used to love playing on Mineplex back in the day. My favorite game to play was turf wars, I could play it for hours and never get bored. I also made a friend on Mineplex, Dragonsouls2002. I absolutely loved playing him, we lived in different states though and different time zones as well and didn't have a way to contact each other besides the ingame chat. I miss playing with him..
I like how Bedrock Mineplex’s only update for the whole year was the option to play Solos in Cakewars. Half the Duos Game I played at the time made me a solo..
This is so sad, I remember hearing and playing Mineplex so long ago. After I had stopped, I had always wondered what on earth had happened to it. Now I know thanks to this informative video. I've always wanted a Hypixel like experience on Bedrock and I believe that Mineplex can definitely deliver. Let's hope this new, improved, optimised code can help restore the server to its once former glory and players can enjoy the server the way it was suppose to be played.
There is a much lesser known version of this story that happened to the once largest plot creative server in Minecraft, Edawg878 The slowdown of 2016, combined with horrible administration that was extremely overzealous over moderation against anything that made them look bad or that they found even slightly offensive, combined with a rather weak back end that only got worse as they shifted into a hub server, resulted in the place crumbling down to just a shell of its former self
It's a shame what Mineplex has become, I didnt even know how dire the situation has become with only 300-400 players online. I really do hope that they can turn things around and be able to compete with hypixel again as competition is always a good thing for the consumer. I remember that the older mineplex video was how I first discovered your channel two years ago, its incredible to see how much the channel has grown!
I think you should do another one of these on Shotbow. That really was one of the best PVP servers back in the day. All of their game modes were amazing. They had precursors to modern Battle Royale games, a clone of some of the more intricate Arma game modes, unique game types, etc. Definitely have a lot of good memories about that server but I just can't remember what killed it...
@@trigamacid7983 if it's a survival server they kinda need to update to 1.20 to keep a lot of players, or the players will move to ones that have 1.20. I don't like the update, but it's mainly just not being a bad person lol (besides profanity, that's really stupid)
lol if they even try to touch Hypixel, they will single-handedly have killed java multiplayer... Though the battle between the behemoths would be epic, the distrust left over would be irreparable.
@@danese1636 At its core, Hypixel runs on 1.7.10, a version now over 8 years old. Mojang can't enforce their chat reporting because it only works on 1.19.1 and higher. It's not a matter of Hypixel using mods to circumvent chat reports, it's that chat reports simply wouldn't work on their infrastructure built upon such an old version of Minecraft.
I remember playing mineplex as one of the first servers when I got MC in 2013-14. Had no idea they had deathrun now which is was my favorite java hive gamemode. I might actually go online and check it out again to see if it hopefully queues. The only reason I would have to play mineplex on bedrock over other servers is their hypixel housing ripoff but I could just play hypixel for that :/
I use to be a massive mineplex clans player, basically the only game I played for many years. I started playing clans around 2015 at the end of beta and near the season 1 release, I was never that good of a pvper but was more of a builder. I kept playing on clans untill last year when season 6 part 2 came out, everything was normal until the season lasted more than six months, then eight months, then until now two years later there has been no talk of an upcoming map reset. It truly is sad to see the server I literally grew up on just up and die without the owners even putting any effort in trying to bring back old games or updating ones that we already have.
i hope we can keep mineplex. for nostalgia yes. but also from the POV of a player, steep competition results in the best experience, don’t let hypixel start slackin keep them on their toes, keep them innovating
I used to love speed builders and the block hunt I think it was called but now, with that being really the only game modes mineplex has that hypixel doesn't, I just never feel a reason to log onto mineplex instead of hypixel
Poor Mineplex, I miss it dearly. I miss the old lobby and tree, I miss a ton of the retired minigames. This is truely a sad day and I'm legitimate crying a bit over it.
After Losing the hive, the only idea of mineplex dying and disappear from java Is actually scaring me... i don't play mineplex, because i'm more of a pvp guy, and not a mini-games guy, but seeing what made history fall so deeply in ruins... idk man, but this looks like the fall of the Legacy, with Minecraft's attention span Also declining, idk if mineplex Will manage to save itself...
Super Minecraft Maker. Anyone remember it? Sethbling helped to create it on Minecade in 2016 and so many youtubers that still played Minecraft at least tried it. Minecade had a life before it, decently popular too, but has then merged to another dying server and now closed, getting a code rework years in the making that probably will never come. Vanished from most people's memories. I think Minecade's history could deserve a video but idk.
I still remember playing turf wars all the time on Mineplex. I probably wasn't very good at, but I did win more than I lost. I personally choose to believe they have a chance at a comeback, and I hope for them to succeed, no matter how small that chance is. A server isn't really dead until it shuts down.
I have been thinking about this… What if Hypixel were to buy Mineplex? Mineplex has many innovative game modes that I have fun playing when I hop on every once in a while. If this happened Hypixel could bring these game modes more mainstream, and could benefit Hypixel in the long run, and the current owners of Mineplex would get a pretty good payout. Also maybe the devs could work at Hypixel or something. Idk, just a thought though.
That wouldn't be worth it for Hypixel at all. Essentially, they'd only be buying the game concepts. They would still need to rebuild them anyway for their server. Makes more sense to create clones with sufficient differences so that Mineplex couldn't sue.
I personally stopped playing Mineplex because I was unfairly chat-banned for years, and did not have the energy to appeal it, because the Minecraft Forums was a laggy mess. I was like 13 or so at the time. Someone kept sending a message about how to get free LEGENDARY or HERO rank or something. It looked like an official message to me, but I knew it was too good to be true. I asked in chat a few times if anyone else could see the message. And I asked if it was legit. No one answered and barely anyone was even in the lobby. I ended up following the link and started doing what it told me to do. But eventually it asked for my Minecraft password, and everything was looking fishy. I realized that if it really was real, it wasn't worth going through all this shady stuff to figure out. The next time I got on, I had been permanently chat banned. I thought it was because I got scammed and it was a punishment for being foolish. Found out later that it was actually because they thought _I_ was the one trying to scam people, which was idiotic. I was literally trying to look out for myself. I never typed any suspicious links into the chat or anything. I literally just asked if it was real or if anyone else could see the other user typing the scam messages. Last year, I wanted to finally clear my name. Account migration was coming out, and I didn't want to have potential complications in the future due to having a chat-ban on a partnered server. I found the appeal system had moved to Mineplex's official website. Where there was a dumb, long account creation and appeal process that I had to go through. It was not fun. There was one problem though. I hadn't found my transaction ID yet, and my old email was defunct. So I had to sign up under a different email. I explained this in the chat-ban appeal. I explained how I was unsure why I was even chat-banned, and if it was because I fell for the scam (which is what I had previously believed for the last several years), or because they thought I was scamming people (which is what I realized _while_ writing the appeal). It took a really long time to get a response back. And guess what? The appeal was declined and I was given a perma ban for having a "compromised account". I was no longer able to even use the server. I get why they did it, but it was infuriating because the only reason this EVER happened was not even my own fault. In order to get unbanned, I had to create a freaking imgur account and upload very specific screenshots showing that I had changed my Mojang account password. After I finally found my transaction ID and got Mojang support to transfer my account to my current email, I had to figure out how Imgur works, upload screenshots, and make a brand new appeal. It worked and I got my account unbanned. I used to love Mineplex. It was my favorite server. I liked the smaller, more compact userbase, and I thought it was much easier to use than Hypixel or The Hive. But the poor moderation and infuriating appeal processes just turned me off of it completely. What started as a simple chat-ban that ruined my experience and made me stop playing, turned into a perma ban in the future that caused headaches and made me lose respect for the server.
Mineplex's problem with management and messed up priorities killed the entire server Poor Chiss 😔i miss ausmc and nautilus clans is dead champions is dead every gamemode is dead without update and being neglected

@@Zorokthegreat I remember Shotbow, their server got breached in 2016, causing my mom's email info to be compromised.

Makes me pretty sad, some of my favourite multiplayer games were unique to mineplex namely halloween havoc, Christmas chaos and super smash mobs and I hate that they are going to be pretty much gone forever if this keeps up
those holiday events were genuinely fun, I loved the pumpkin king one. shame to see the state it's in about 8 years since I played first.
Hypixel monopoly moment
Dom is the king 👑
CTF is just awesome.
Dominate was dead, but I've actually seen 1-2 games going pretty consistently ever since they reverted to the old queue.
@@BlazeFireMC during summer? They had at least one game going for a couple years but nowadays seemed dead / no games going on
@@bilbobaginutopi2284 I swear, I saw 17 players the other night in DOM.
I genuinely really miss mineplex, I've tried to get into hypixel but it's just boring to me, mineplex was really fun, its such a shame

i must have thousands of hours on mineplex. i remember their minigame Wizards was wildly popular until they pulled it for seemingly no reason. the server definitely holds a special place in my heart, as my friends and i spent countless hours goofing off in middle and high school. it's still at the top of my server list, and it makes me sad to see the numbers slowly decline
i loved that gamemode so much, just sniping people from across the map with lightning was so cool
Wizards was like the only game I actually enjoyed because it was so unique

Castle siege was the absolute BOMB, I miss it so much..
Castle Siege by far was the most nostalgic game for me. Sucked that It lagged so hard at the end of java mineplex
@@potatoskunk5981 yeah,
Archers are also very effective at taking out undead and the tnt guys. There were a couple of spots I always went to that were great for taking out a ton of undead.

I remember
the eternal rank? It was nice of mineplex to give people a chance to obtain it before they even allowed it to be purchased
I remember that. I had some dude swipe a chest right out of my hands and I sat there in shock as he got the eternal rank, LOL!
Thats why it wouldn't help them, everyone else is already doing it.

its sad that when you search mineplex on yt, the videos which are shown first isnt the server’s minigame itself, but videos about it’s history, downfall, etc
I remember making an MPS and getting like 16 people on it to play games. Now I can't even play a game of Block Hunt without begging people to join, as most people are only in the lobby.

There is a much lesser known version of this story that happened to the once largest plot creative server in Minecraft, Edawg878
The slowdown of 2016, combined with horrible administration that was extremely overzealous over moderation against anything that made them look bad or that they found even slightly offensive, combined with a rather weak back end that only got worse as they shifted into a hub server, resulted in the place crumbling down to just a shell of its former self
It's a shame what Mineplex has become, I didnt even know how dire the situation has become with only 300-400 players online. I really do hope that they can turn things around and be able to compete with hypixel again as competition is always a good thing for the consumer.

This would be awful for java as a whole. Hypixel purchasing servers would really damage java long term.
Mineplex's problem with management and messed up priorities killed the entire server
Poor Chiss 😔i miss ausmc and nautilus
clans is dead
champions is dead
every gamemode is dead without update and being neglected
I loved playing on mineplex back in the day, survival games, the little wall gamemode, turf war, it had so many fun mini games. Sad to see that it’s gone this far downhill
I’ve just been binge watching by all your videos 🍿
Rewatching this before the final video on it soon, and also to pay my respects. Hypixel might have been the main (and really only) server I play, I love learning about the history of Minecraft, and Mineplex was definitely an important part of it
Idc what anyone says Death Tag was my absolute favorite Mineplex game I binged it
Same, besides dominate, death tag was my favourite
@@TheMisterEpic archer was my main class in Death tag I loved sniping people
Been watching & subscribed since the original Mineplex video (when you had like 2k subs) so nice that you've got so far!
Thanks :)
we'll eventually see hypixel reach a similar fate
Honestly can’t wait.
I play hive sometimes, and the some of the mineplex obstacles in death run are the exact same ones from the obstacles in hive’s death run.
It's kinda of tragic how one popular server would end up like this..
Mineplex is the first Server I ever played on for 2 years. I had so much fun 😭😭😭 RIP
