Mike D always blew my mind. Such an unassuming sort of geeky looking guy and would spit out those rhymes with the best of them. The old never judge a book by its cover i guess. These guys were just fun to watch, so entertaining. And so original in their own rite.
I'm still not over Yauch's death. It hits home, kind've like losing a friend. And they always change up their shit live, thats why I want all these live recordings so I can hear them all @__@
These guys laid the foundation for most if not all if the music we hear today. ADAM YAUCH WILL BE MISSED. We all need to pour a lil for an influential, musical mastermind this evening. Thanks for everything MC A.
What I love about the Beastie Boys is that they were all just friends having fun on stage. No secret grudges, no lawsuits against another, and no replacements. They put their friendship before their fame.
Lawl, no need to get your knackers in a knot kids... I was just saying that the house of pain is classic, badass rap. The beastie boys are younger, newer, hip hop stuff. I never said that they were bad, just different.
The first time I saw them was on the Licensed to Ill tour Public Enemy and Murphy's Law opened up in Philly they were throwing Ice Cold Cans of Budweiser in the crowd it was out of control and yes I'm 49 years old
I seen em' in 1987, Twice. Liscenced To Ill tour, the second time was a double bill-Beasties and RUN DMC. Two of the best live performances I ever witnessed. That's the Ill shit.
Does anyone knows what do they say first, in their "rythm about Holland" ? I understand that they have a "rythm about Holland"; but I don't understand what they say in it. (I'm French, that's why I don't understand when they are speaking fastly ;) )
@TheSuperTett No, no he's not. He's still recovering from cancer. Recovery takes as long as it takes for that person to feel at 100% again. I think if he had died, we'd know about it by now. Some people take more time to get back to where they were pre-cancer than others, so patience is key.
@randomhomies69 I was 17 when I saw them at the licensed to ill tour in 1987. I still have a shirt with the crashing plane on the back. That was nice, but believe you me, you don't want to be 41 like I am!!! Just enjoy them now, find some archive footage and be happy you're still 15 with a whole life in front of you....
Dood, when I say that I mean that beastie boys do the more pop stuff like nowadays. (even though they are an older group) house of pain is just like the gritty, classic beats.
thank you so much for translating!...As an American born in Germany (who's loved the beasties for over 20 years now) I had no idea what Mike D was saying..
This actually sounded better than the recorded version. Goes to show the 'Beasties' always hold it down live!!!!!! Can only say that about very few artists today....Saw them in 4 different concerts and always kept the crowd alive, always the same 'energy'!! Long live the Beasties. The afterlife has a treat awaiting them....It's MCA!!!!!

And so original in their own rite.
And that voice. Can't beat it.
So unique with that high pitch timbre.
Thank God I got to grow up in the 80's and 90's. I feel sorry for kids these days...
to the people in the front to the people in the back to the people on the sides AND ALL THAT!
Great vid....awesome sound...thanks for posting!
@skyworf wreck x-n-effect rump shaker before that
This is an '89 track, performed by 40 somethings six years ago, and is still the freshest live hip hop act around.
AdRock says "YEAH" and "WHAT" way better than Lil Jon.
AdRock thanks for that laugh today! So true!
lmao this comments old as fuck
What a mad man! He's hilarious!
Mixmaster Mike, killing it!
Holy shit, this is so dirty. Mix Master killed this track, wow. He's soooo good, my god
"Somtimes i like to brag, sometimes I'm soft spoken, when I'm in Holland I eat the pannekoeken" ✌
When I'm in Holland, I eat the pannekoeken!
Much better to do and to smoke there... lol 🌱 💨
Wish I could have seen them... RIP MCA Adam Yauch.....
RIP MCA, he will be dearly missed! Such awesome guys! They always seemed to be havin' so much fun with what they were doing!

they look like they're having so much fun haha
0:33 I love how mike seemed so unprepared for that song, and the crowd probably all thought they were gonna play super disco breakin at first
Brilliant! Wish i was there!
RIP Adam
Ad Rock might actually be crazy.
Hahahahaha..I wake up in holland to eat the pannekoeken, hahaha...fucking brilliant.

DaVeVeDa 2:29 is Salt Shaker by the Ying Yang Twins.
MY MAN MCA GOT A BEARD LIKE A BILLY GOAT!!!!!! RIP TO A LEGEND!!!!!!
They were fuckin insane live, but I wish this was DJ Hurricane instead of MMM... it's lacking that funky ass bass
the line he raps is: "when I'm in holland I eat pancakes" (in Dutch)
'LIKE SAM THE BUTCHER BRINGING ALICE THE MEAT'......classic lyrics, gotta love it!!!!!!!
@randomhomies69 Ya I was 12 when Hello Nasty came out and I wish I was around when Pauls Botique came out.
These guys laid the foundation for most if not all if the music we hear today. ADAM YAUCH WILL BE MISSED. We all need to pour a lil for an influential, musical mastermind this evening. Thanks for everything MC A.

Me too- anyone know?
Mike D wearing a PIL t-shirt?!
I love their food references. "I'm intercontinental when I eat French toast."
It's a knock-off "J.I.L".... willing to bet that it means Jew / Jewish Image Limited. Totally something they'd run with.
What I love about the Beastie Boys is that they were all just friends having fun on stage. No secret grudges, no lawsuits against another, and no replacements. They put their friendship before their fame.
What I wouldn't give to have been able to witness this live!!
Lawl, no need to get your knackers in a knot kids... I was just saying that the house of pain is classic, badass rap. The beastie boys are younger, newer, hip hop stuff. I never said that they were bad, just different.
Best hip hop song ever
Awesome beats, all three high as hell... can hip hop get any better than this?

I seen em' in 1987, Twice. Liscenced To Ill tour, the second time was a double bill-Beasties and RUN DMC. Two of the best live performances I ever witnessed. That's the Ill shit.

I am still not over MCA's death. I notice in this video he is not jumping around or shaking his head................breaks my heart!
