I HAVE A QUESTION I AM CURRENTLY STUDYING IN GRADE 11 TH SO WHAT SHOULD I REPORT FOR COURSES ? AND GRADE SECTION..AS YOU SAID IT IS FOR GRAde 12 th ....BUT PEOPLE TOLD ME TO FILL UP IT NOW IF I WANT TO START IN 2024
One thing that's been confusing me is if I haven't appeared for the SAT yet, but still want to submit the application, is this possible? Let's say, if I appear for the SAT in August, but want to submit my application before the SAT scores are released, is this possible? If possible, will I have to select a predicted score value, or just wait for the results to come out?

Isn't cumulative GPA supposed to be a cumulative score of all four years of high school? We don't have this in India right so what do we do?

There’s one thing I have a doubt on. In the courses and grades section, there are different grading scales, but I’m more Telangana state board so some subject grades are not out of the regular marks, like chem and phy out of 60 and math out of 75. Logically I would choose the “other” grading scale but I was wondering how they would know how much it’s actually out of cuz there isn’t any option to fill it out.

@@zimal5424 oh yea! You type the score you got/max score possible. When you choose other grading scale it lets you type in so you can do that.

Ask your teachers/counselors/recommenders for their name/last name/email, and invite them. They will receive an email, regarding to submitting your recommendation.

Hello. What if we take AP classes though? Can we weigh the GPA ourselves based on the AP Exams we give? Also, if we are reporting unweighted gpa, should we take only one of the years' scores or entire highschool?(I got this doubt since you said or and not and, just clarifying)

You can either average out your 9, 10, 11, 12th scores or input the most recent one: whichever is higher.

Hi Neel. The Courses and Grades section is for individually reporting the scores/grades of all subjects you took in grades 9,10,11, and 12. 90% of schools do not require it as that information is already reflected on the transcripts you submit to them alongside your application.

Hey! Class rank is for the latest class rank you’ve obtained. If you’re a gap year student, it’s grade 12 rank. If you’re a 12th grade student, it’s the most recent rank you’ve obtained (11th, 12th midterms etc).

Your report cards.
Through the CommonApp. You can add your counselor's email on the 'recommenders and ferpa' section.

@@au2611 1. By report cards I mean any document with an official stamp/seal/signature that highlights your scores in individual subjects. Can be a transcript, marksheet, assessment report, etc.
2. Nope, getting WES is optional. Personally, I don't know anybody from my batch who got an evaluation.

A pdf about transcripts on the common app website from 2020 says it receives transcripts from intl schools only evaluated by WES. Many people told me to ignore it. What should one do?
edit: i just found the 2021 pdf and it allows uploading.
@@au2611 WES certification used to be compulsory back in the day; it isn't anymore. Don't sweat it.
bhaiya my school also does coscholastic grades such as life skills, art education etc. will colleges look at those as well? I am stresing because although I have good grades in academics, i have a C in art education

Nope, not needed; however, you might need a signed document (from your counselor/principal) confirming the same if a college asks for proof.
@@TanishkGupta but I actually saw some on RUclips like Shaurya Sinha, Harnoor Singh, Nitya who took the TOEFL or IELTS. And if I'm not wrong they did study in English medium schools. So what do you think about it?
I took the Duolingo English test as well but none of the schools I applied to requested for it. You can take ielts/toefl/duolingo if you want to be on the safer side.

@@pritithapar1212 in my opinion the only thing that matter is English proficiency test not school.
If you studied English during all 4 years of your high school, you don’t need to take any English proficiency test. I still took Duolingo to be on the safer side though.

Hello as you said In the Education section under Current or Most Recent Year Courses we should list the courses from your 12th grade but what if i am still in 9th grade so what should I do?
You will be applying to college when you’re in 12th so leave that for now. “Current or Most Recent Year Courses” is to list the courses for the high school year that you would be in when you apply for college (which is grade 12 for most people).

Hey! No big deal. Your school transcripts are submitted by your counselor and not by the school; the transcripts just need to have the school stamp on them. Send your old-school transcripts to your counselor and request them to send these along with your current transcripts.

@@maazasrar6497 Most schools have a school counselor. In case your school doesn't, you can ask a teacher/warden/principal to submit documents like your transcripts and LoRs on your behalf.

No, there is no disadvantage of taking a fee waiver in your application and even if you don't want common app's,you can see others like some universities provide their own waivers
Yeah. I applied everywhere free of cost. It doesn’t disadvantage you in any manner.

Hey how does the course and grades work?
‘Courses and Grades’ is used to input individual marks for all subjects you took in high school. 99% of schools do not want this section to be filled out. The only major school that does is Stanford.
