Nah there's a lot of teams that are good but just not good enough. Look how competitive it is this year. Stuff like that creates natural rebalancing especially for teams that have been competitive for many years but are getting older or stagnant, or just straight up need roster changes. A lot of upstart teams out there right now it upends things.
They act like Portland was ever going to deal with Miami. Cronin said it himself that he wouldn’t ever have traded Dame to Miami no matter what.

@@gregbors8364 Because Donovan is an expiring contract this summer so the price for him will be MUCH cheaper since he can basically decide where he wants to go. Dame was still under contract for 4 more years so he had ZERO say in where he could get traded. But Donovan will have all the power this summer to decide his fate. No team is gonna give up a haul for a player who says they don’t want to be there and can leave in free agency the following year. So that means NY, Brooklyn, Miami, and LA will be the teams gearing for Donovan if he requests out this summer.

I would be shocked to see a lot of players moving. Suns made big moves, didn't play well, Rockets made moves, didn't make the playoffs. For teams in the east just staying mediocre basically guarantees you will be in the play in minimum cause there are 5-6 teams that are awful. You just gotta stay okay and you can keep making the play in
What? That’s exactly why players will be moving - they moved last year and it didn’t work, so they’re going to keep moving. That’s how it works
@@lyinbobbycottonseed But eventually there draft picks go to a small number of teams that aren't rushing rebuilds like OKC/Jazz/Spurs who aren't going to buy all these mediocre guys. Then teams are stuck without picks and with assets that aren't worth much (Bucks/Warriors)

How is it hating? They were never good enough to win it all. Just because they made the Finals doesn't mean they're true contenders. Last season, they were just on a streaky run and had good matchups. Boston was still a better team but they just shot themselves in the foot by living by the 3's when nothing was going in. Fact of the matter is Miami does need a true superstar like they said. A 1A type player. Jimmy Butler isn't a superstar like a Jokic, Curry, LeBron, Giannis or a Kawhi. He's a 2nd option trying to be a 1st option and look what happened. He was crap in the Finals.

Heat got from being played on last year’s free agency (waiting lillard) to being one of the top teams to land top talents.
It's about location. South Beach is appealing. LA, Boston, NY and Brooklyn get majority free agents. They always will.

We got the ONE win I expected and I'm hoping for another. Miami's conditioning team is touted worldwide, I think we can probably get a second win in games 4-5 but Miami's not winning 4 vs Boston this year. Fans are going to point towards our injuries and say "If Jimmy and Terry were healthy..." but the front office is supposed to EXPECT injuries and build a team around us playing WITHOUT Butler, Bam and/or Rozier - THAT'S THEIR JOB!
