One of my favorite parts about the series was the amount of sketch deals you were willing to go to for the collection - The random gas station guy with a stack of loose disk games, and driving off grid to the set of Deliverance for bags of smoked out games and consoles that looked like they’ve been through Mordor. 👏 Love the dedication man!
My favorite thing about this channel is specifically how I too can save money with patience, 10 dollars, and the hunt. The Hunt is such a wholesome feeling. I appreciate the videos. Thanks
“Free from game stop” is by far my favorite episode... stumbled across that one and had to go back to start from the beginning- binge watched in 72hrs! Amazing series and can’t wait to attempt this starting my first day off this Tuesday!
This popped up in my video feed one day and after 10 min I was hooked. I went back from the beginning of the series and binge watched here and there for a few weeks. My favorite part of the series was how much work Rick put in because it is something he loves to do. You really see this in the content as it is always entertaining. This is one of my favorite things I've ever watched on YT. As an 80s kid, nostalgic content like Retro Rick provides really hits home of how awesome it was to be a kid during those days. Keep up the great work and I can't wait for series 2.
Favorite episode was the one where you found the deal with all of the dirty “junk” consoles you had to clean. My wife and I were awestruck at how some of those consoles got that dirty! (Surprised that one of those PS2s worked) Also, the dirty backpack full of gems! It’s fun watching you bring those neglected retro goodies back to life!
I found you through the "Nintendo Collecting" channel and I've binged watched the entire series. My favorite episode was when you got the shady backpack deal with the n64 games and you said Diddy Kong Racing cartridge and you said it was one of your favorites cuz thats my favorite game. I've watched you grow from like 30k to 45k and I wait every monday and thursday for episodes, keep up the good work!!
Retro! You and your $10 challenge is the reason I got back into collecting! My father passed away shortly after you first started posting the $10 challenge videos. I remember the days he would come home with a new game for the snes or 64 and I wanted to relive those memories. Now I have a huge collection, part time reseller on ebay. Thank you for bringing this joy back into my life man! Keep on, keepin on! A+ content ALWAYS!
I like episode 23 because It was the first video I watched. After watching It I watch whole ten dollar episode series. To be caught up. Also It was really great to watch your journey and your progress.
Omg, I only found this channel a couple weeks ago and I'm hooked! My favorite series on youtube! Showing all my friends and helping my husband find more games for his collection now.
I like the one where you found the DS and took it back into the store. That was awesome. The world needs more honesty. I would love an N64 in my collection. Not sure why I don't have one.
My favorite thing about this 10$ game collection is that it got me back into collecting, and most of all playing games! I was born in 81 and it has just made me be like oh yeah I remember that! Sweet man , keep it up!
My favorite part of the series is any episode i hear your son in the background. Knowing you bring your kid along and immerse him in retro is fantastic. I do this with my kids and its how we connect as people together not just parent and child. We love finding old stuff cheap. I actually found a CIB Bubsy for sega genesis for 10$ a week ago. My kids are still enjoying playing it.
Rick your videos bring happiness to me, whenever I get off a stressful day of work I browse RUclips and when I see one of your videos i watch the whole thing. Thanks for making these videos!
Holy GameCube is my favorite episode. This whole series has been amazing. I watch it as soon as its posted. Thanks for all the amazing content, hands down this is my favorite channel on youtube.
I love the fact that u can actually buy these games for so cheap if u have the patience. U have introduced me to an entirely new side of buying retro games. Had no idea u could get them so cheap. Thanks for all u do!
So many good bits over the year. Showing the GameStop strategies, flipping DVDs from Goodwill to eBay, but probably the best parts were the Facebook marketplace deals when you wound up talking to the people about their love of games too. Thanks for the entertainment, Rick.
I can’t believe it’s been a year Rick. I can remember joining into this channel when you had 6,500 subscribers and been super impressed with the context. Someone else who loves the same stuff as me. Been a journey and awesome to watch the change in the $10 collection.
It’s gotta be when you found your first GameCube I’ve been looking for one for a while and it gave me hope that I would find one. Edit: I got my first gamecube game it was Jimmy Neutron attack of the Twonkie’s
My problem in calling it a $10 game collection or “free” is it discounts the hundreds and thousands of man hours it takes to game hunt, buy lots and resell. That would be like me saying I got my yearly salary at work for free because all it cost me was time.
Oh! And the fact that a guy was able to quit his job to resell games essentially proves my point. You can build up a game collection this way for sure, but be prepared to put in the hours of a part time or full time job. To be clear, I have no problem with this. But to call your game collection “free” is like me calling my house free. You exchange time for money and then buy what you want. Exactly like every job ever. Lol
I found your channel in November 2020 and it's one of very few that I subscribe to. You have inspired me to start reselling and I hit the jackpot at my first yard sale where I picked up a Xbox 360 slim with 3 controllers and 7 games all for $40.00 but to my surprise the bonus game that was in the console was NCAA FOOTBALL 14 !!! What a way to get started. Thanks for your channel!!!
My favorite episode has to be the first one, having to make decisions over a $1 game because money was so tight. Seeing how far you've come in a year, wow. A full N64 collection - do it :)
Hard to pick a favorite episode. Really enjoyed the entire series. Have been hitting the Goodwills and flee markets in my area hard since finding this channel. Looking forward to yard sale season this Spring.
Just so you know Rick I paid for all of my families Christmas presents via learning from you! Plus I’ve been able to collect around 50 games and 10 consoles since the November! Thank you so much man! Love your vibe and love that you created this valuable content! My favorite pick up was your shady Nintendo 64 deal lol
This series has helped me so much in my game hunting for reselling but my favorite is whenever you find the bulk Facebook marketplace or offer up finds. Also that fire emblem wii find 🔥
My son and I have enjoyed the entire series. He's only 6 months old and he loves "dancing" to your intro. I've spent many nights and early mornings holding my son and catching up on all your videos. Also hopefully you've sold all those NCAA games because the price is about drop on them with the news today. Keep the videos coming!!!
Great episode as always. My favorite thing about your channel is the education I get about your tips and tricks. I`m an older game collector that just recently began collecting games from my childhood. I watch your channel every Sunday and believe me it helps with the next weeks hunt!
I can't think of a specific episode, but what I do know is that this series is what made me start getting out there and looking through my local thrift stores, Goodwills, and online stuff like Offerup and Marketplace. Thanks for the months of great content, Rick. Great stuff 🙌
Reminds me a lot of myself. That entertainer personality. You show off not to brag, but to see the enjoyment and wonder people have. It's why I make videos and it's what I'd love to be able to do.
My favorite part of the series is every sketchy looking deal you make to further the collection. definitely some situations I would have backed out of. I admire your commitment. I binged this series while helping paint my basement.
Found this video recommended to me. Went back and watched the entire series over about 4 days. I’ve applied some of these techniques to fund my own collection. Thanks retro!
this recap was the second video of yours I watched. One week later, I've watched the entire $10 challenge series. The Saturn pickup is probably the most nostalgic for me as an original owner. Have already started putting your tips to work. Many thanks.
I just love your content! Too hard to pick a favorite moment, but I love how you manage to inspire me to go to my thrift stores, flea markets to amp my own collection and make a lil $ to help my collection!
An outstanding collection after only one year. Still can't believe your area is so rich with retro gems...and cheap too. Makes me wanna visit Arkansas. Keep it going Rick.
I have used your channel as a "strategy guide" to help me fund my own game collection. Thank you for the inspiration. My favorite moment so far, was when you found the two Gameboys in your host family's home. Pretty cool find, and the ended up being free.
My favorite episode is when you found the master system collection at the flea market. I’m green with jealousy over that one and fantasize making a discovery like that You’ve done an awesome job with this series. Keep it up buddy! Can’t wait to see videos outside of the 10 dollar series too. I loved your older nostalgic videos.
I don't have a favorite per say, but enjoyed watching the series altogether since it gives me hope that I can build a lot of what I used to own as a child and lost for one reason or another. Great series, I hope it brings the same amount of nostalgia and hope to others as it does for me.
My favorite episode was actually recent. It was where you found the McDonald's flashlight. Because there's no other feeling like finding something that you either had or saw when you were a child and forgot about.
My favorite part is actually multiple of your videos pertaining about what certain dvd's costs, i had no idea on how much you can sell dvds on ebay and now thats my side hustle
Episode One really help me start my side hustle of reselling . There's a lot more money in reselling media than people think!!! Thank you for all the information.
I’ve just binged this series for the last 5 days or so, and I love it. Thought this was the last episode. Tip for season 2: try starting with nothing? Seriously, just go around the city or something, looking for free or lost stuff, anything, then flip it for something, and go from there. I’m a collector too by the way, so I knew most of your tips, and if I didn’t, I always saw logic in them straight away, so we must surely have the same mindset when it comes to collecting. Sometimes you have to be smart, sometimes you have to be sneaky, but always stay honest and humble. You have a new subscriber. Keep it up.
The craziest part in the series is the fact your Goodwill stores are still selling games for $2. In 2021 that is amazing. But my favorite part of this series is watching you genuinely get excited when game hunting. That’s what collecting is all about and I love watching collectors being happy doing what they love. From one collector to another, keep up the great work!
Thank you, my quarantine has been fun because of the nostalgia of seeing old toys, games and thrift stuff you show. To see the hard work and how your collection is expanding is quiet the sigh.
At this point I would have to say favorite moment was the family you stayed with while on a trip for your job and they ended up giving you there daughters old gameboys. So very cool that they would do that.
I recently found your videos and I have been binge watching them for the past 48 hours. It makes me wanna pick up and go to all the nearest goodwills!! Hahah I didn’t even know goodwill sold video games, so that’s my favorite thing- lots of new knowledge
Yep. I'm a re-seller and this is a good channel to watch if you want to learn about re-selling for a profit. I would've never knew certain calculators would sell for so much if I didn't watch this channel. 😁
So many memorable moments to choose from but I really enjoyed the trade ins with gamestop to ramp up the in-store credit to use on items you specifically wanted. Keep at it, every week is like a magical mystery tour and the nostalgia factor is terrific. Thanks
I really enjoyed the episode when you picked up the gba game shark! Talked a lot about specifically asking if someone has more games or anything you might be looking for. Really helped me find some crazy deals I never would have otherwise! Thanks retro!
My favorite episode is when you went to the house in the middle of nowhere to get all those dirty games and consoles. It was totally worth it for you to pick them up! It makes for good stories and memories. Yes, it takes time to clean them and you don’t know what you’re going to get. Good job, Rick! I really enjoy jour channel. It’s amazing the quality of your videos with just your phone (I think you said you film on your phone).
I really enjoy all of the episodes. As a person who loves to go out game hunting, it's nice to watch you go out and find some real gems! It's entertaining and scratches that itch for me. My favorite find was the game that had a $10 bill in it. I've never seen that happen before and was pretty funny.
I can't pick a video or find to be honest, because what I think i like is the variety. There's always so many cool and interesting videos coming from this channel that it's been the basis of what inspires me to make my own videos. So keep it up!
The best part was when you found the NCAA Football 14 (just the case) before you opened it I was like, “he is so lucky to find that game and a thrift store.” Even the case “AMAZING”! I have Learned so much from you and starting my own game Collection.
My favorite part was in the first episode when you gave a description of what you wanted in the collection. I just thought it was really funny that you were so specific about what you wanted the collection to be like, but it ended up being way bigger and way different that what you set us up to expect. Definitely made this episode way more interesting than it already was.
I like when you went to the huge garage sale and got all that stuff. I think you got there before another game buyer who was not happy. The lot you bought was huge!!! Thanks for sharing your purchases!!! Long live video games!!!!!!!!!
Episode 18 was my favorite. I used to play a lot of those games and seeing them again really brought me back, but you reaching out got me to reach out to people and start buying back my childhood, I just picked up Super Smash Bros Melee and Metroid Prime for $10 because I reached out to someone
All the episodes brought back some many memories as a kid! But I thought the best episode was where you found that dsi on the ground at a game exchange parking lot and you to took up to the store counter. That just shows that your a real stand up guy!
Favorite find is definitely the GameBoy Advance SP. It's one thing to go to garage sales/goodwill/FB Marketplace looking for games; It's a whole other level to ask friends/family for games. Epic! No shame, pride aside, you're on a mission for VIDEO GAMES!
what I love most is not a specific episode but your dedication to that serie. the biggest surprise for me is to see how this wouldn't be possible without your knowledge of the value in certain DVDs, which seemed worthless to me. I don't think the collection would be what it is without you Dvd value and resale expertise! getting to that point through other means than just video games buy/resale is a very cool aspect, and your transparency about it too!
When you found the NCC Football 14 case only. Then turned around and found another complete all in the same video. Good day right there! Thank you for the videos!
Dang dude! $10-$10,000. So freaking rad! It’s been a wild ride to watch your collection grow. I’ve had a lot of fun watching this video series and honestly learned a lot for my own re-selling business. Thanks for all your hard work.
My favorite part of the series is some of the things I`ve learned about being a youtuber, things like when you took the suggestion to show video game footage of some of the games you come across in the stores and that becoming a regular feature for your videos, I`d love to try and make actual content for this channel but between anxiety and overthinking it`s rough to get my feet wet and seeing you do that shows me that I don`t have to have my entire format figured out by my 5th upload and that the community can help with some of the polishing. Another thing along that subject hat I learned from this video was that as someone who isn`t self aware I can always have someone look at something I edit and tell me if I`m flailing my arms around because that sounds like something I would do without noticing as well lol
Dude I can’t think of a favorite moment since I just found your channel a few weeks ago and binge watched the series it’s all a blur. I did learn a lot about building my collection though. Loved the series!
My favorite episode is when U got the GameCube collection! Because I love that era of gaming, Love this series, I binged it all when I was in quarantine
Love this series, my favorite is actually episodes where not everything goes perfect. The episode where you created a garbage pile from the collection was good to see. Not because i enjoy others misery, but because it makes it realistic. To show not everything works perfectly.
My favorite episode was #14. I also loved the episode where you got the NES collection. Needed cleaning up, but was an amazing find. Love this journey we've been on as a gaming family. Love the flea market finds. Been a really fun year.
This is one of my favorite series on RUclips ever. My favorite episode is the one where you found the $10 inside the game case! I would love the N64 console!
Really, cool collection. Congratulations. I just started looking for some games to buy, but I didn't want to spend too much. This video inspired me to continue searching for it. So my favourite part of the series is the "inspirational" one. Being patient and focused, so then you can save money :)
This guys is a straight hustler!!!! Give him a rock and watch him come back with a yacht! It takes talent, i bet he could prolly do this with anything (Cars, Houses, Boats, Real Estate). My hat is off to you good sir!!!! Play On.
I really enjoyed stumbling upon your channel and I think I had to watch about 4 episodes of the $10 game collection to get caught up. I really enjoy the Goodwill finds in each episode.
Watched the entire $10 game collection challenge in January 2021 and its obvious your collection is Free plus made you a tidy profit to buy new stuff it's a fun ride I highly recommend anyone to watch and even try if they want to start a new game collection
My favorite episode definitely has to be the backwoods dirt road exchange. Love the series man!
RICHIE YOU WON! Can you get in touch with me on Instagram or on Facebook?
Awesome thank you Rick! I messaged you on Facebook
@@retrorick do you have any game boy color for sale??

Don’t forget going through the bank drive through and asking for a game.
My favorite thing about this channel is specifically how I too can save money with patience, 10 dollars, and the hunt. The Hunt is such a wholesome feeling. I appreciate the videos. Thanks
I liked when you found the $10 in the case and effectively made this the “free” game collection ☺️
Same
I agree too! That feeling when the $10 was there was so rewarding.
Lol nows it's the 30000 dollar collection
“Free from game stop” is by far my favorite episode... stumbled across that one and had to go back to start from the beginning- binge watched in 72hrs! Amazing series and can’t wait to attempt this starting my first day off this Tuesday!
That’s amazing Alexandrea! So glad you are enjoying it

I like episode 23 because It was the first video I watched. After watching It I watch whole ten dollar episode series. To be caught up. Also It was really great to watch your journey and your progress.
.
My favorite part of the series is learning about DVD's that have value as well as finding out that NCAA 2011 on PS2 is worth something.
To be honest I loved the whole series. You helped me expand my collection. You inspired me, thanks.
Favorite part of the series is showing us how much Spice Girls DVD is worth.
Omg, I only found this channel a couple weeks ago and I'm hooked! My favorite series on youtube! Showing all my friends and helping my husband find more games for his collection now.
My husband and I have binge watched all of your $10 game collection videos, and you have inspired us to start our game collection as well!
I like the one where you found the DS and took it back into the store. That was awesome. The world needs more honesty. I would love an N64 in my collection. Not sure why I don't have one.
Even if you stop the $10 collection series, continue the game hunting because that's the best part of the series is when you find the games.
My favorite part is how you always teased selling twilight princess when funds were low, and I’d always yell “no don’t do it Rick!”
My favorite thing about this 10$ game collection is that it got me back into collecting, and most of all playing games! I was born in 81 and it has just made me be like oh yeah I remember that! Sweet man , keep it up!

My new favorite has to be the.. “are you recording?” And dropping the money 😂😂😂

my favorite part in the series is the fire emblem radiant dawn from goodwill!
My favorite episode was when you found the snes at good will, that's like a dream find at this point!
I just got one a month ago for 20 bucks at a thrift store. keep looking it happens. XD
My favorite moment was the guy who found some loose game disks at a gas station and sold them to you for like $10. 😂

My favorite video live game hunting my best fine yet!
Me and my daughter love your videos. You got us into finding treasure in thrift stores, awesome bonding time.
Living out my dream man, I'm 33 and I'm trying to do what you do and I have love your vids. Just reliving my childhood
My favorite part was getting the n64 facebook deal. Im a big n64 fan boy.
My favorite episode is this one because it shows me I’ve been here for a year and recaps all the finds
Dude I can’t think of a favorite moment since I just found your channel a few weeks ago and binge watched the series it’s all a blur. I did learn a lot about building my collection though. Loved the series!
I just got serious about collecting in the last few months and I have been inspired by your journey. Keep making videos and I'll keep watching!
One of my favorite episodes was when you were in the middle of nowhere to buy the games. Reminds of me some of the sketchy places I’ve been to.
