I bought a used v14 for the reason I felt it would be the best wheel to learn on, and I wouldn't have to upgrade for some time. At 73, more likely, it will be the only wheel I'll own. I used to ride a unicycle, so I was riding around our block in the first 15 minutes.
I loved my V14 while it was operational. Street, off-road, hills, trails, jumps, it did it all and was an absolute blast to ride. Somewhere along the way though the controller tray cracked and a corner sheared off. It being my first wheel and not having a dealer anywhere nearby (and Alien Rides, who I purchased from, went completely radio silent when I asked for help), I chose to try and replace the tray myself. It's still torn apart in my garage as I blindly try (and fail, and re-try) to get it back together. Long story short, be careful with those controller trays, especially if you're not an EUC mechanic and don't have access to one.
Thanks Adam for the Review of the V14 even know your not super excited about doing the reviews as much… we’ve been waiting for this one:) Now get back to those cow bells (or whatever they’re called) your arms are looking good.
i like how you say that this is the first fun inmotion wheel but your first v12 impressions i believe you said it was one of the most fun wheels you have ever ridden
You're right...I was thinking about that too. The only flaw with the V12 was the torque...but yeah that was fun too. Not as much as this one though! Or at least different :)
@@mr_wrongway do you think you'll get a v12 pro? i know you've gotten a lot of non suspension wheels recently but the v12 pro looks like a REALLY refined wheel and it has a different motherboard which i believe has completely eliminated the random cutoffs
Great video! I too have had the V14 for a while now and while my experience owning has been great the biggest niggle (which you addressed) is SOFTWARE - There are only so many ways to make a EUC standout mechanically with hardware, but I think with software, you can do a lot more.. From a better UI app experience, screen display customization, tilting forward back sideways behavior and even button pressing sequences, I believe will separate unicycles in the future. Sure battery capacity, speed, range etc will still be the biggest selling point, but if something is easy to use and diagnose.. *chefs kiss*
I had a supermoto that I put dual sport 17" treaded tires on. My V14 reminds me a lot of that bike. Crazy fun for the city and serviceable off-road but not really optimum anywhere. The V14 is just really fun for urban riding and can absolutely send it off road as long as the trails aren't too rocky and narrow. There are far better products for going fast in a city or fast off-road but the V14 is absolutely fun everywhere. Like a supermoto.
The long awaited review! Awesome job as always Adam ✨👏 Not so long ago I thought about buying one, it's an amazing wheel. However, for my use case, I'll probably rather a Patton-S or maybe even a Nosfet Aero when it comes out. We'll see on that! Cheers mate 🤙🏻
As a very satisfied V12HT user I plan to buy V1450S. It just looks so sick and engineering is just next level compared to other wheels. I will commute 20km to work (and 20 back) so this wheel is everything I can wish for. Great for road and also for light offroad. Proper lights that's also very important thing for commuter. Inmotion will support this wheel for a long time which is necessary if you want to keep the wheel for long and do some proper mileage. Just awesome wheel for the money.
We must be having very different offroad adventures if this isn't your adventure wheel! I mostly ride MTB trails and go up mountains on fire trails. The lower range is obvious if you're riding around at high speed, but I'm still amazed at how efficient it is in high-torque scenarios. I still haven't gone below 50% doing serious off-road before I'm physically spent. I can only think of one time I wished there was more suspension travel (on biggish jumps), but adjusting it a couple of notches fixed that right up. Raising the pedal angle has also been enough to keep me clear of clips. The weight did feel like a lot on tight berms at first, but it's balanced really well. It responds after I learned to trust it. (Edit: just got to your comments on berm mode - they must have fixed that because it's almost too far now, I wish I could set more detailed angles.) I honestly can't see myself upgrading for a very long time. A wheel this fun shouldn't feel this powerful. Mine has been punished, still going strong.
Not only first batch issues. Got mine with 50s, still had motor/full slider assembly/shock replaced, everything under warranty though. Still happy with it, very fun wheel
@@patrickmckowen2999Probably yes. Jumped it a lot, ridden MTB trails, single tracks. Without big jumps suspension should be fine. But motor failed 1 month after I received it, with only some small jumps
