Wow... that Peach in the Culex battle was really fast, because in almost all playthroughs Culex goes 1st and summons the crystals, I wonder how it will be the remake in the upcoming months.
I like that when Valentina turns the group into mushrooms: Mario becomes the regular Super Mushroom, Bowser becomes the 1Up Mushroom, and Mallow becomes the Mini Mushroom.
Super Mario RPG is one of my all time favorites back my childhood and it’s coming out to Switch as a remake. I can’t wait for the remake to come out later this year.
Hoping the next generation will pick up this game without really watching all the spoiler videos resurfacing, and actually enjoy exploring/figuring out an old game for the first time (cause maybe some have never heard of it). I loved the game. I'm glad we're getting a remake. I get the feeling that this remake might be a litmus test to see if they should produce a SMRPG 2.
I got this game back in 1996 when I was in the hospital for my tonsils the second time was downloading it on the Wii shop channel back in 2010 and finally I will get the remake in the next four and a half months from now and I'm excited as Hell seriously I can't wait ❤️
This game had so many weird charming bosses; my favorites were always Bundt/Raspberry, the Axem Rangers, and Punchinello. I'm dying to see how they will look remade in brand new HD graphics, since so far we haven't seen them. We did get a glimpse at a decent chunk of the bosses, though. If I remember correctly, so far we've seen the Hammer Bros, Mack, Bowyer, Grate Guy and Knife Guy, Yaridovich, Megasmilax, Valentina + Dodo...and, finally, brief cutscene snippets of Croco and Birdo.
Besides Booster optional battle scene, there are two optional battle scenes of Dodo, Valendina's Bird. The first one happens if player fails the statue's test and the other one while chasing after Valentina in the last room of the castle.
I think is until know I notice that the alternate boss music is used exclusively by the weapon-themed bosses (which are the mass produced enemies and Exor), and with the other members of the Smithy's factory is using the regular boss theme.
Yeah it's weird isn't it? If the "being a weapon" motiff was the point, then why does Mack has the theme, he's not a sword, he's riding a sword. So what makes him "more weapon-ly" than say Boomer, at least Boomer looks metallic (though I'm sure Mack is made of metal too, but that's beyond the point).
Fun fact, in the Exor fight, once you get rid of his protection you can use Geno Whirl at his weak spot to inflict 9999 damage on him and the fight 👏👏👏

Wow in all the times I beat the game, I never knew Belome could make two clones of the same character. He always miraculously picked different ones each time for me and I thought it was specifically made that way for variety.
Now that I'm thinking about it after watching this, I always liked how the bosses once defeated had all the coins pop out. I hope they have some kind of cool way of doing that in the remake.
What is your fetish with the Ultra Jump and the Geno Boost? Considering that after the battle you use the Geno Boost in, it abates, making it essentially useless.

It's a good idea to bring Mario and Mallow to level 4 before Croco#1. Also, choose the pow bonus when Mallow levels up so he won't do 1-2 damage with his normal attack. Mack can be annoying with the bodyguards as he may hide when there's at least 1 bodyguard on the field. Even if you take out all the bodyguards, Mack can just summon more. Give Mario a Trueform pin so Belome#1 can't turn him into a scarecrow. I strongly advise having the item command locked first in the Bowyer fight. Just use items more than your normal/magic attacks within the first 2 turns so Bowyer locks that command first. Also, you could've equipped the NokNok shell for Mario and the Froggiestick for Mallow so you could do more damage with their normal attacks. You get the shell after finishing a run on the Midas River. Get the Froggiestick by talking to Frogfucius after his long story, provided you have the cricket pie(this is mandatory btw. Talk to the Mushroom Kingdom shop owner after defeating Mack to get the cricket pie.) If you can't guard well against Croco#2's chomp attack once he steals your items, you may want to finish him quickly. A thunderbolt or 2 should easily take out the bombs that Punchinello brings in. Leave at least 1 bandana blue alive so Johnny only uses his normal attack as well as continue to fight him with your party once he gets tough. When Yaridovich creates a decoy, the cursor will always highlight the real one as the default target. He always opens up with Water Blast, so you should probably defend on turn 1. The decoy has lower defense than the real one so you know. If you can take out the clones Belome#2 makes before his turn comes when there are 2 clones on the field, he'll never use sleep inducing attacks. Rock Candies and the Star Egg are your best friend against Jinx. You don't have to destroy the crystals first against Culex. Just defeat him, and the remaining crystals will break up all by themselves on their next turn. You should bring Toadstool/Peach for sure against MegaSmilax. Give her a trueform pin so she can't become a mushroom. Then just group hug so the party recovers from the mushroom status. I'd put Mallow in the middle with a mute block accessory and Peach/Toadstool on the right also with a mute block accessory for Valentina & Dodo. Czar Dragon is weak to ice, so Mallow with Snowy or ice bombs can deal a lot of damage to him. Weird thing about him is, he can actually use Water Blast, despite being a fire enemy. When he becomes Zombone, magic attacks will be more effective. Focus on taking down green and pink first in the Axem Rangers fight. A glitch can occur in the Magikoopa/Kamek fight. If he summons King Bomb and you let it explode after 4 turns pass, Magikoopa/Kamek will do nothing for the rest of the fight. A red essence for Toadstool/Peach the turn King Bomb explodes will seal your victory as you can just use her come back to revive the other 2 if they get koed from the explosion. Boomer has low defense when he's blue, so use that to your advantage. Exor is the only boss that insta kill Geno Whirl works on. The Ring-A-Dings need to go first before Countdown as their Fear Roulette insta kill cannot be blocked. You should defeat Cloaker first so you only have to deal with physical attacks. Make sure you take out the Clerk/Manager/Director before the hammer enemies or more hammer enemies will join in. GunYolk uses Breaker beam on even turns, so it might be best to defend on those turns unless you really need healing. If you're having a rough time against Smithy's first form, deal with the machine producer first so you won't have to deal with the Shypers and their sword rain spam. The tank mode for Smithy's true form can be deadly as he can use an unblockable insta kill attack. Bring plenty of Pick me Ups in case Toadstool/Peach gets KOed from it if you bring her into this fight. His wizard mode has the lowest defense compared to his other modes, so that's your chance to use your most powerful moves on him.

I just beat king calamari and I ran away from the sunken ship because I was at low Hp. (What I did to catch croco 2 was just go the other way. He would come around and he would run into me!)
