    It may sound stupid, but I never really fully realized that black women went through a different process than other women when washing/ drying their hair. Props to you for taking the time to do all of this. I have more wavy hair, and I get annoyed if I have to brush it more than once a week lol.
    So sorry if any women or men of another race have ever given you shit for wearing your hair naturally/ braided/ cornrowed/ etc. You are so beautiful, and so is your hair.
    Sending you peace and love.

      I’m black, but I actually end up saying the same thing since not all black womens hair are the same, but I never really realized how a lot of them wash days can take up to many hrs and a whole day. 😭

    I tried this last night and the process was so quick! it didn't dry completely by the next day but it was so much more manageable and I easily put it in a bun that was nice and detangled. I will definitely keep using this method. thank you x

    This is THE simplest wash routine I've ever seen for natural hair....not to mention the products used aren't even expensive or hard to find.....and it obviously works since your hair has grown SO much since your last video I saw which was the flat ironing video. What I'm currently doing is way more complicated & takes way too long, so Ima give this a try for a few months. Even if my hair grows at the same rate as what I'm currently doing, that would be a major win in my opinion when you consider all the time & money saved. Maybe less is more when it comes to washing and detangling.

      I'm a firm believer in keeping things simple. It's worked for me. Not discounting the "quality" of the pricier products, but I honestly don't think it's *necessary* for healthy and/or long hair.

      I was saying the same about her hair cut.
      I used to have to keep chopping because of hair falling out massive,but I think the quick growth is in my genes,plus excellent care,I think it's the same for her. I stopped looking for length 2 months after my chop in 2014,now almost pass my bra strap.(my daughter/my hairdresser was checking) Don't set yourself up for disappointments. Do your part and just enjoy your hair,it will surprise you. God bless.

    This is EXACTLY how I wash my hair. Shampoo, Condition, Detangle, Braid it up in sections, let it dry over night, take it down the next day, OIL MY SCALP, and style how I want! People swear you have to do other crazy extra stuff. I would call that a PAMPER hair routine NOT a basic wash day routine. Wash day should be quick and easy. Pamper routine should have more extra steps

    Why does it seem like none of these natural hair youtubers have hard to detangle hair. Neither does my sister and her hair is much kinkier than mine. I can have my hair over slathered in conditioner with a lot of slip and still struggle to detangle it. I feel like my hair is like no other lol. I feel so alone in this struggle.

    • @oihcam22
      @oihcam22 8 лет назад +24

      I thought I was the only one. 😭 no matter how much conditioner I put in my hair it's still hard to detangle. I would think it's because I have 4c hair, but 4c naturals on RUclips can still detangle their hair easily as long as they put enough conditioner in it.

    • @lexigloup2284
      @lexigloup2284 8 лет назад +13

      I found that finger detangling works wonders for me and also try a hot oil treatment along either before or after a deep conditioning.

    • @ladyhottness29
      @ladyhottness29 8 лет назад +21

      Yeah I don't get it. My sister's hair is 4c too. One time I watched her detangle her hair and It was like child's play. I had to call her a jerk LOL. But I guess that proves that tighter curl patterns doesn't mean it's harder to detangle than looser curl patterns. But then what makes one's hair more difficult to detangle than others? It's a mystery lol.

    • @ladyhottness29
      @ladyhottness29 8 лет назад

      Alexia Brown That sounds like a good idea. Thanks. I haven't had a hot oil treatment since the beginning of time lol.

      +oihcam22 If it wasn't for me seeing my sis detangle so easily I would have thought that these youtubers were deceiving us by pre-detangling their hair b4 filming their detangling process lol.

      Her going vegan definitely helped. Of course meat eaters have long hair too, but it's about giving your body the best nutrients from within for it to show on the outside as well. Fruits, veggies, and tons of water works wonders lol

    • @kaylatb05
      @kaylatb05 8 лет назад +79

      A healthy well balanced diet, whether vegan or not would accelerate hair growth as your providing your body with more nutrients. From what I see she eats very well, there are many vegans that don't have a diet high in fruits and vegetables but primarily complex carbs, causing them to be nutrient deficient. So being vegan alone is not a factor.

    • @misseydj123
      @misseydj123 8 лет назад +11

      Kaylzz Complex carbs consist of many fruits and veggies....You do know that that will not make you nutrient deficient right? Brown rice, Broccoli, Strawberries, Kidney beans, Chick peas, potatoes, etc will definitely be beneficial for you. Majority vegans also eat much more than complex carbs btw.

    P.S. Your hair looks great.Nice and healthy. Also, when you showed those four styles, you looked like Nia Long in that top right pic - both gorgeous women.

    When you air dry over night, do you sleep with the towel on your braids? Or with a bonnet? Or do you literally just leave your hair out and let it dry when you sleep??

    Your hair grew so much, I used to use your older technique of stretching your hair but my roots would be too puffy and it was hard for me to style but I found a new technique that I'm using my my hair is still short. Once mines get to your length I'm going to definitely give this a try.

    I know this a old video but I'm learning so much! I saw your recent video on this and you perfected this technique/method. I gave up on my natural long thick hair and I got a curly perm for seven years. I'm currently at 8 months of new growth!!! I'm trying your techniques and methods while transitioning!
    Sorry for this long story lol but I found your channel earlier on in the 2010 year and I liked you then! 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽🙏🏽💜

    I love this wash and go vid! Since watching it I've started doing it....2 weeks now. I made a DIY shampoo from black soap tho and I've always used VO5 conditioner. So cheap!! No need for expensive products.
    My favorite part is conditioning and then just leaving it to dry in my plaits. You're the best!! 😍

    Great video! You use VO 5 shampoo and conditioner? I've watched all these different videos and so many naturals use all these expensive products and a lot of them do not work in my hair. My hair hates Cantu and Shea Moisture. It also hates Carols Daughter, As I Am, Aussie, Nexxus, gosh so many. I going to go back to the way my mom use to do my hair. She always said keep it simple and that I don't need all those fancy shampoos or oils for my hair. I am two years natural and the only way to tell if my hair has grown is if I straightened it and I did that three months ago for the first time in two years and up it's growing but not past my shoulders yet.

    I tried this and it's def. gonna be my fall/winter wash routing while i'm not wearing wash and gos. So so so simple and only took me like 20 minutes on extremely shrunken and tangled hair so I already know the next time I do this after wearing my hair in a bun it'll be even simpler.

    Thanks!! Tried this on my medium length coily 4c hair and it worked. So far this is the first wash day routine that has actually stretched my hair and left it manageable. I just moisturised my scalp and hair after air drying hair overnight with Argan oil, jojoba oil and Shea butter. Then smoothed my edges with Eco styler gel and I was good to go!

    Doing the rubber band thing now. I’m baffled at how surprised everyone is about her using cheap and less products. I been using $5 or less products and my hair is longer, fuller, and healthier than most who use a lot of expensive product or have a 2 day wash day lol.

      Lmbo you know what's funny I saw this picture on you IG..I was like can you make a video and what kind of hair did you use. all alone it was your own hair Lmbo smh anyways it look very pretty... you've helped with growing my hair out. I use some of your styles and techniques. especially with washing. I was too excited and started using heat to see how long it grew. that was a mistake no heat damage but I saw my hair breaking. so I'm complelwty done with heat....

    I just shampoo my scalp, allow the shampoo to run down my hair when rinsing it out, and the length of my hair gets clean that way. Putting shampoo down the length of my hair dries it out. Really nice & neat parted braids! I must work on my braids as well as neat parting. Great routine! Beautiful double buns!!

    wow your hair grew. I didn't think vo5 products were good just because of the sulfate in it and the fact that it is so cheap, $1, is there a reason why you switched from Aussie brand to vo5.

    I've been stretching my TWA with loose rubber bands short braids and it really helps! my hair feels so much softer and better! Products work better on my hair stretch because my cuticle flatten it's the best and fastest way to stretch your hair. it's helping my hair grow crazy in the last 3 months . Keep hair stretch will help retain length thanks !!!!
