I never understood how the CPU always matches your speed when you are winning, but when the CPU is in front of you , sometimes drops the speed and even crashes with the obstacles
It's programmed like that. In fact it doesn't matter what car the CPU choose because they always goes to the same maximum speed and have the same rate of fuel consumption. In the highest difficulty it tends to crash very few times if at all crashes.
