Wow, just over 6 hours since the video was uploaded, and there are already way more comments than I expected! I know it's a giveaway video, so I figured there would be more activity, but 400 comments in such a short time is amazing! With this volume, I won’t be able to reply to most of them, but I want you to know I really enjoy reading each and every one. Thank you all for taking the time to leave a comment! Remember, the name will be drawn and the winner will be announced on Saturday, October 12th. Best of luck to everyone in the giveaway!
😅 No doubt, that's a good strategy that will definitely bring in the interested masses lol.. I've got an old Pierce Chronographe, perhaps a 40's-50s that I'm going to try to get back into functioning again sometime in the future. I will 1st try servicing my 21 jeweled Armitron from Walmart a decade ago. I had no idea of the financial investment when 1st looked into the tools required, the 'Oil' alone was a shocker!!! I've already gathered a few things, Microscope, sets of screwdrivers, compartment bins, along with a slew of various parts ... Looking forward to other tutorials, Congratulations..
I love the crystal on the Seiko, but I am no expert so I don't know how common they are. Anyways, I hope this comment wins (not holding my breath) and good luck in the future.
Your channel is very informative, I really appreciate your comments. It is very relaxing the way you explain the history and approach the challenges of watchmaking. Keep the good work and entertainment. Thanks very much.
That kind of finish on case coming from a "hobbyist"...I guess you've passed all exams just need the paper to be a professional. I love 70's Seiko movements. That japanese simplicity philosophy no perlage or Geneva stripes needed. And what's important, I saw not a single peace of plastic. Even the spacer is metal. Just as it should be. If those movements had a hacking option and hand winding there, would be near perfect. Green dials are my new "blue" dials. That watch is so humble but still so beautiful.
I don’t have a watch collection yet. I have read that some collectors like to include a watch in their collection that is from their birth year. This one is just 3 years after my birth year. It would be a great start to a collection.
Still watching, but wanted to comment that if I do win, I know a retired gentleman who has a broken and damaged Pepsi GMT that was damaged when he was hit by a car and almost died. I would choose to have his watch restored and you can give this one to someone else!
That watch is stunning! That green dial! The faceted crystal! I had a Seiko from 1980 with that same crystal. I wore it for 30 years. I love this watch! And your restoration is amazing! I would wear this, not merely keep it in a case. Kudos! Well done! 😎
I'm older and am constantly telling younger men, "WEAR A WATCH! MEN WEAR WATCHES!" Alas, it usually falls on deaf ears, unless I can get them to watch one of your videos then magically a change happens and several have. ought watches. So proud of myself.
That's great to hear! Once people see the intricacies of watch mechanisms, it's easy to fall in love with them. You should be proud! I appreciated watches when I was younger, but it wasn't until I got a mechanical one that I truly understood their appeal. When it came time for a service, I researched and realized there weren't many skilled watchmakers in my area. So, I decided to learn the craft myself. After finding some RUclips videos, I was hooked! I bought every book I could find and dove deep into the knowledge, eventually starting my own repair journey. The learning never stops!
Unfortunately , most see them as unnecessary now because everyone carries a cell phone . So it's either part of their fashion to wear one , or they actually appreciate them if they're wearing one .
I agree100% with you sir when i ask about they just saying that stupid thing(watch are obselete because everyone have cellphone!!!!)they dont understand this is not about functionaity all about prestige and class...and very important part of a gentelman's style....
Excellent videos. Me and my cat Chrono watch every video you release. As soon as he hears your voice he runs in the room. He loves getting right next to the screen as you manipulate the tiny parts. This watch is incredible and beautiful. I look forward to wearing every day. Thank you for these amazing giveaways.
Loving your ultrasonic machine capabilities. Congratulations for the15k subscribers and thanks for all the work you put in the videos. After hours on working on a watch you work on a video, editing the mutiple angles, recording a voice , giving us knowledge and entertainment. Thank you Adam!
This looks like an amazing watch to receive as a gift! And the bonuses that it has been thoroughly restored and repaired by Adam! Hope I win! Thanks for the opportunity!
It's so much fun watching you tear down and rebuild these beautiful machines. How you fix some of the problems you find shows how creative you have to be to work on watches. Keep up the good work saving history.
Yeah some people nowadays don’t appreciate the ability to repair stuff instead of just throwing it out. Like this watch was designed to be worn far into the future. And you did a great job bringing it back
The amount of love and care that went into this restoration really comes through in this video and your narration. As always it was truly a pleasure to watch!
You have woken the passion in my 29 year old soul again, i just love your videos and how good you are at describing/showing (teaching) in your videos, would love to see you fix or restore an skx007, lorus or an old eddie bauer one day. Keep it up and thank you so much! ❤️
Whoever ends up with this watch, including yourself, is very lucky! You did an outstanding job, as always, bringing this watch back to life! Between you and @wristwatchrevival, I have started on my own watch repair journey! I’ve already got a pocket watch running, which is a start. Keep up the great work!
The colors remind me of an XJ12 I saw many, many years ago. I have not worn a wrist watch in 40 years. I would proudly wear that watch for the remainder of my time on this earth. Well done. It is beautiful.
Beautiful work Adam!!! The end result is absolutely stunning, and worthy of your attention to detail. Crossing my fingers for the win!!! It’s almost as vintage as me, so that’s be kinda cool 😎. Looking forward to more restorations and what’s next. Cheers , and best of luck to everyone 👍
You do some outstanding watch repair/service videos and both my wife and I enjoy watching them. We especially like the Seiko videos. Thank you for sharing your skills with the viewers. Congrats on the 15,000!
Hello, this is the first of many video uploads of yours that left me gobsmacked… I am truly an automatic fan and can’t wait to tuck in to all your programs here…awesome work and more power to you
As someone who got into watch repair because of frustration with costs and delays, I have to say that watching your videos and listening to your comments has been enlightening. I picked up all kinds of tricks from you. Keep up the good work
I really enable to joy watching you. I find it amazing that you are able to show so other people can enjoy the art that there was when it came to watches. thanks again.
What a stunningly beautiful watch. Your skills at servicing and then polishing, as well as your humility really came out in this video. Thanks again, can't wait to see the next one.
I'm such a big fan of old Seiko watches and the watch repair community on youtube. I started watching Wristwatch Revival a while ago and recently found your channel!
Such a beautiful dial, I love the green sunburst pattern! So retro 70's and so cool. I also love the Japanese kanji characters available for the days. And of course it's a Seiko automatic with all their clever engineering. Thanks for featuring this one!
Oh my! Great work here! So sad I didn't see this video BEFORE the giveaway! Maybe the winner decided to have his own watch restored and that beauty will return to another giveaway ... 😉
Thanks a bunch. The winner chose to receive the watch from the video. We'll do another giveaway when the channel reaches another milestone. I'm not sure what that milestone is right now, but we'll do another at some point.
It doesn't matter the brand, as long as it is an automatic mechanical watch, it will be in a class of its own... I've been wanting one for a while now... ❤
Such a beautifully restored watch. That’s such a unique crystal that holds up its style to this day. And the green dial with that classic 70’s tone and hue really knocks it out of the park. Gorgeous JDM.
Next level watchmaking here. Attention to detail, impeccable lubrication and super clear video of the processes.... What's not to like. Keep up the fantastic work! 👍
I’ve been loving your videos Adam. Great detail. Great video. Great enthusiasm and humour. This watch is stunning. I have a Rado with a faceted crystal. It really takes a watch to a different level. Would love it in my collection 😁 Keep it up my friend. I’m learning tons from you.
I started watching your videos with my dad, it became our thing. I love watching them. They are informative and amazing to watch how you take something broken and fix it.
Hi Adam, I like to see your videos. My advice to you. Don't throw away the old glass. In many kinds you can buy only the glass (without the metal ring). After separating the old glass from the metal ring you can glue the new glass to the old metal ring. It is much cheaper than the original combo and you find the needed part much easier.
This is my favorite watch you’ve done to date! You are correct- whoever wins will have the toughest decision to make! I am in love with the dial and the crystal and the band! If I won, I don’t know what I would do!! I just don’t think I could pass up this watch, however my husband has his father’s watch that he’s been wanting serviced for a while now. I can’t wait until the 12th!!!
Having a watch serviced by you and seeing the whole process on RUclips is really nice, but come on, who could reject the chance to own this beautiful vintage Seiko? The crystal is truly something special! I’m not sure I would have chosen one of these in the store, but seeing it now, it’s clear how gorgeous it really is. Here’s hoping to win this one!
Hello Adam and congrats with 15 K subscribers. Re this video - what a wonderful dial! I am getting much more excitement when see old vintage watches coming back the the life then to see another newly produced one. Fully agree that right tools make the difference but also combination of proper tools with "gold hands" make the difference. Thanks for the video
Goodness sir, what a stunner. That faceted crystal is simply breathtaking. Of course, your love for the work and narration makes experiencing these restorations even more uniquely special. I’m always impressed at your ability to communicate to us commoners so effectively. 👍
Adam. Amazing restoration and service. Case looks excellent witht the full polish and the brushed caseback. Like others here Im amazed there are faceted crystals still floating about for a 1973 Seiko. So much to like here. Itll be a tough choice for the eventual winner! Best wishes and congrats on reaching 15k.
Watching your videos has encouraged me to try my hand at watch making. So far, I’ve replaced a broken case ring and put together a watch kit. Thanks for the encouragement!
I've always loved watching watch repair channels and yours is one I watch regularly. I wish I had the skills doing what you do. Congratulations on 15K and counting. Keep it coming
I’ve recently gotten deep into a couple watch channels but the first time on this gem of a channel. Sure is fun to read all the stories of everyone in the comments and hope I can make memories as valuable as them.
Whoa! Again congratulations with the 15000+ subscribers! Did that turn out to be a gorgeous watch! Normally I wouldn't think to well about a 7ties watch. But this is just putting me in awe! It is completely blowing my mind! 😮😍 If the winner wouldn't pick it. I'm sure You'd give it great love Yourself! ❤
Great choice of a watch to work on. The dial and crystal make it a very nice and standout piece. Thanks for keeping another old and interesting watch going and making great content.
OK, drawing the giveaway winner right now! Good luck everyone! The video will be uploaded shortly.
Will you work on my seiko 6119 I am willing to pay you for the work

I've got an old Pierce Chronographe, perhaps a 40's-50s that I'm going to try to get back into functioning again sometime in the future.
I will 1st try servicing my 21 jeweled Armitron from Walmart a decade ago.
I had no idea of the financial investment when 1st looked into the tools required, the 'Oil' alone was a shocker!!!
I've already gathered a few things, Microscope, sets of screwdrivers, compartment bins, along with a slew of various parts ...
Looking forward to other tutorials, Congratulations..
Hello! I wanted to know how much it costs to restore such watches? Repassage, glass replacement, polishing, replacement of parts, etc.? Thank you.
I love the crystal on the Seiko, but I am no expert so I don't know how common they are. Anyways, I hope this comment wins (not holding my breath) and good luck in the future.

Wow, the facets on the original crystal is beautiful
Beautiful 70’s Seiko - makes me want to service my childhood Seiko my dad brought back from a TDY tour in Vietnam in 1969.
That _is_ a beauty! I voted for semi-restoring the case, but gotta say this full restore was the right thing to do 👍🏼
Thanks 👍
Excellent videos. Me and my cat Chrono watch every video you release. As soon as he hears your voice he runs in the room. He loves getting right next to the screen as you manipulate the tiny parts. The coolest crystal I have seen on a watch. It just screams 1970s

Fantastic watch. The green dial and the amazing work you did…count me in.
What an impressive watch! That dial is beautiful, and it would look good even without the original crystal. Great job in restoring it!
That dial is stunning. For a watch in that price bracket it’s gorgeous.
That really is a beautiful face. The 70’s watches have a style all their own.
The crystal design is simply stunning, simple yet gorgeous. This watch is worth restoring!
I totally agree.
