Great Spears are effectively one of the best weapons in Elden Ring They have really surprising timings of different attacks and good roll catch capabilities It is the only game in Souls series where i gave spears and lances a try and wasn't dissapointed Also your showcases are really amazing. I really learn more about how to mix the attacks and stuff from your vids
Great spears are one of my favorite weapon classes, but I wish the Lance wasn't the only one that could b infused. (imo) the tree spear looks so much cooler than the Lance, but it's stuck with Sacred Order as an ash of war.
You should try them in DS2, especially the lances. They are definitely slow and something you commit to but oh man using the running attack to just send chumps plummeting off cliffs is so much fun.
If you were disappointed by the class in ds3 you really must not have been paying attention. The great lance and the Lothric knight long spear were absolutely op.
@@Eternal-Seven maybe tested through PVE and found that enemies with hyper armor (the few there are) will just destroy you if you get stuck in something like that?
This series is amazing. You can clearly see specially on the invasions the massive skill gap between players. Chase using a weapon to its full potential with the whole moveset, vs 2 players spamming L2 or spells and hoping for the best. I had an invader hiding with the hand cannon while sniping me in the poison swamp fort and would run away. It was annoying as hell and also made it a very memorable experience.
Would love to see a showcase on the Shamshir. It has a smooth moveset and cool heavy attack chain that offers for good switch-ups. Also curved swords all have a feint heavy attack that you can do which throws people off really well. Been a fan of your channel for a while, mad respect for being so consistent and wholesome as a content creator!
Backwards feint into a back step attack at the opp works really well for heavy thrusting swords so I bet that would work great on curved swords as well
Been looking forward to this one! Learning pvp for the first time and this series is a lot of help! Also it’s real fun just how many I see running around with your exact armour setup
Dragon Halberd is an awesome quality weapon, so is Veteran's Prosthesis, and Godrick's Greataxe, but the AOW on that one is a little too slow for duels
Most content creators nowadays when they see lag or BHS, they will just rage for minutes about it. Chase doesnt, he takes it as a challenge, and actually adapts to it.
No lie, your vids help me out so much. Just knowing the capabilities of weapons that I don't use and what the ashes of war can do, plus a general idea of damage output is massive. Appreciate you, chase.
I'm loving this series! It would be great to see you feature weapons that you wouldn't typically use or are considered bad. You're a great pvp'er and it'd be interesting to see how you'd make those lesser used weapons work.
Love your weapon Showcases and also the Lance. I'm currently dual wielding it with my Intelligence build and infused them both with frost because it's one of the few weapons which gets an B scaling for intelligence instead of dexterity when it's maxed out. The frost build up is massive, it procs almost immediately on every enemy by attacking with L1 and that just feels so satisfying. Definitely my favorite so far!
@@KindOldRaven I tried powerstancing two warped axes. Looks so cool! S tier heavy STR…. Worst weapons, unreal how bad they are. Super slow no range. There is literally no reason to powestance them. Better just using one or none
The reason the wizard was so weak was that he was an int/faith build using a pure int staff. Not sure what he was trying to do but the cast speed buff of that staff does not make up for the terrible damage-fp cost efficiency for int/faith builds.
I really like these videos. The way you break down the build and the moveset first and then put it to use helps a lot. Could you mention or show where you get the weapons? Also I‘d like to see some kind of whip for a showcase

Golden Land is my fav AoW it can poise through almost anything and you gotta use the followup r2 for insane damage. It has 3 parts and each part can do up to 1k damage if ur a faith character
This series is great! Entertaining and you show off some stuff i never thought about using before! I'd love to see you use the Zamor Curved Sword. It's my personal favorite curved greatsword with an awesome design, unique light attack chain, frost build up, and Zamor Ice Storm as its Ash of War (its similar to the sorcery version, except you can't charge it)
Golden land has a follow up attack. Very useful. You have to press heavy attack if I remember it right. Or maybe it was extra input with the skill. It can be the difference between getting punished while in the animation or a positive trade for you.
Love the series. Been binge-watching them the last couple days. Find myself clicking on the next one just to see if anybody kills this guy. Only seen it happen once. Very cool.
That 1k damage in the ice spear is interesting! That makes me wonder if it benefits from the spear talisman bonus to counterattacks, because that guy was definitely in the middle of an animation...
Poison damage and weapons may *seem* interesting. Though some of their designs are very nice to look at, creating a build centred around poison for pvp probably wouldn’t end well. (Poison damage procs for ~10 health a tick, most players going for pvp have upwards of 1000 health; even the squishiest builds don’t have less than 400.)
@@fragrantwinter8233 that's if you just proc it and start running. Chase would use it well, especially if he decides to get aggressive. Golden land is absolutely slept on. Not only is it great gank disruptor, but even in duel it has huge utility if you have good rollcatch weapon - like lance. Lot of people start panic rolling the projectiles which you can punish really hard with lance running R1 or jumping R1.
Another great showcase, as always. I'd like to see what you think of the serpentbone blade. I honestly disregarded it entirely until recently, but it scales decently with dex, it's only ash is double slash, which isn't the worst ash to have locked in by any means, and it has a unique heavy attack that I like. The poison build up could probably use a buff, but it still has its uses. Plus it just looks cool, second best looking katana after RoB imo
Urumi is a sword whip that scales all the way into S in dex when Keen infused. Its a regular smithing stone so it can take other Ash of wars. The r2 is a long poke with the sword part of the whip
One thing I love about Chase i that he doesnt rant for 15 minutes every invasion about Bloodhound Hound Step, like litterally every other content creator does nowadays. Chase even says he would rather deal with BHS than a shield.

I've been using the Lance in PvE and it's pretty effective there as well for all the same reasons. The ability to infuse Ashes of War allow you to add sweeping attacks or pokes depending on what you need.
keeping bolt of gransax on standby for when someone uses a dragon incantation is one of my favorite things to do. if you can react fast enough with it its very satisfying

You should try the banished knight great sword! It has such a cool attack style, feels different then all them. Has no crouch poke but I use a ash that makes up for that
Yeah, as a regular user of greatshields (many, not just Fingerprint), I had to learn to watch for Ice Spear early on. Piercing Fang is easy, I could dodge that thing even if I was fat rolling, but Ice Spear has shield piercing and damage on that warmup -- early on I'd make the mistake of shield-poking to stagger them out of it which doesn't work if they have poise, ending in bad trades.
