Edit: 2 year update! I still recommend this flooring, just not for areas with moisture for a long term solution. We wanted our floors to last about 2 years before we installed real tile, and that's exactly the time frame they lasted us. One of our dogs has accidents and we noticed it was going under some of the tiles after a couple years. So if you have this in a dry area (bedroom, living room, etc) it should be just fine. But consider the room you are putting it in, as it is not waterproof. I would do it again in a heartbeat as this was not a permanent solution for us. If you plan on using it long term just avoid rooms that may have spills or standing water like a bathroom or kitchen. In the areas that were not affected by moisture the floor still looked as good as day 1. Hope that helps!

I just want to give an update and a tip! It's been a few months and the tiles still look awesome! I get a lot of questions about if I can see the grout lines from the tile sinking in, and the answer to that is no - at least not yet! Hopefully I won't run into that, but a subscriber recommended to fill the grout lines with floor patch or caulking before laying down to prevent that in the future. If this is a long term solution and you don't want to replace in a few years I would definitely take that step first! Hope that helps :)
You can also tape the grout lines 😉
@@bongrippa420 hi, what do you mean by taping it? Just tape the grout lines with any type? Or something specific? And what is the point of taping the grout?
@@ricardoasuncion3462 Painters tape would work best. It's so it's makes the floor level. Also if you end up on a line with one of your boards
You should have gotten a self leveling concrete and float over the tile so it levels the floor, because without leveling it, the wood/vinyl will crack and with the grout lines over time you’ll start seeing those thru the floor.. caulk is too much time and won’t last like concrete, and all of your tiles aren’t going to be level, so you will get bumps and humps in the wood..
@@311mdub I noticed the floor adhesive appears as if it filled the grout lines. Do u think I can use that to do the levelling while doubling as extra adhesive or should I still use the floor leveling patch first then apply the adhesive?
Being a college student, I ran down the prices of actual vinyl flooring and quickly realized I'd just go with the peel and stick option. I have 300 sqft bedroom, and it would've costed me about $1500 to replace my flooring. Guess how much I paid for the peel and stick: $280 !! Gonna place them tmrw using this video
where did you get your tiles
How did it end up going?
Same! Doing this in my cold, tile floor dorm in a few weeks
How is it is it mop resistant?
I love that there’s so many quality DIY options these days. Looks fantastic and somehow it makes the space look brighter than before despite being a darker color floor. You have a good eye for this!
It looks beautiful!!!
Congratulations you are amazing:)
I bought my vinyl at Wal-Mart for ..$7.99/10 pieces . Did it myself . 1250 square ft. Cheap but BEAUTIFUL!
How much did it cost to do your whole footage?
Is it staying down?
Total cost?
10 month update, how's it looking ?
Omg best thing I’ve read in a long time! I’m doing it
This is absolutely gorgeous. The flooring and cabinets look great on their own, but it's amazing what painting the window trim and ugrading your baseboards can do. It really elevates the whole look.
The baseboards make such a difference! Thank you!
Im blown away at how amazing that floor came out. WOW... GREAT JOB
Yes girl. Giving me life and inspiration with those DIYs.
It looks so cute! Love how the kitchen came together with the wood flooring- you have a good eye for design :)
Thank you so much! 😊 The floor seriously made such a difference in the vibe!
@@mustl0veshoes Looks so beautiful and yes very homey. Where did you buy those pretty baskets
The loook my husband gave me when I told him to ask the landlord if we could pull up the carpet and put down peel n stick flooring. 😅
Lol why!! It looks good imo! I can’t do carpet with my pets
I just seen a video where a renter put down plywood over his carpet then used these wood tiles over top of the plywood. It looked great.
You could lose your deposit if you take up their carpets. Try plywood on top of carpet and then the peel and stick.
I wamt to do it too

About to buy my first house. You did a fantastic job. Plenty of tips learned. Thanks!!
Congrats!
Jelous! Right on
Thank you so much for this video, I am going to update my kitchen floors myself. Your video calm my nerves so much.
WOW! the floor turned out really nice. Your right the quarter round along the baseboards finishes it off nicely. Great job.👍
BEAUTIFUL 🤗🤗🤗🤗 love the warm color you chose, everything ties in nicely 👌👌💖
i was just thinking how the floor would look better with a peel and stick vinyl as i watched your last vid!! this looks perfect :)
Thank you! Yes the floors had to go they were so "blah"
Peal and stick fours are so great and you cant ever tell..if you do it right! Currently in the process of changing all of my bedroom floors because their carpet and I have basically a zoo and I think it’s gross and literally three pretty large bedrooms only cost me $81 because I caught a sale on the floors that I wanted at Lowe’s! So easy! To anyone reading the comments trying to decide if you should do it..do it!!
I’ve loved watching all your DIYs! It’s so fun watching your house come together. Good job 💕
Thank you so much!! One room at a time 😌💕
U did a really nice job here. Im trying to decide if im going to do plank flooring or this peel n stick. 👍
this is a real on the budget make over and i love it.
Your kitchen looks like a cafe! I'm in love. ❤️
It looks absolutely beautiful ! Looks like real wood !
I am totally in love with your brick wall❤️. Nice finish!
Thank you!!
Wow. That is amazing. I think I'll try that too in my bathroom!
The floor is really beautiful. You did an amazing job!
I didn't know that you could put this over tile. I can't stand my porcelain tile kitchen floor any longer!!! I have wanted wood for a long time but thought it was too expensive. After seeing how lovely yours turned out, and how inexpensive, I think I will give this a try. Yours looks AMAZING!!!!! What a difference. Thanks so much! Wish me luck.
That's awesome!! I think you will love it! The only thing I would recommend (as someone mentioned it in the comments) is to use floor patch on the grout beforehand if you can! I haven't noticed anything, my floors still look awesome, but it might look better after a few years if you do that step first :)
@@mustl0veshoes I wondered about that floor patch, if by that, you mean something fill in the uneven surface of tile/ grout. I would be concerned of the grout-lines showing your LVP over time.
Girl!!!! With every diy you post, you amaze me more and MORE!!!
I am installing these by myself in my basement den. I've watched about 10 videos. Everyone I watch I get at least one new helpful tip/trick. Looks great! Thanks
This looks so good, I recently did this in my rental kitchen. I love it..
It's the best! So easy
Its removable? Because I live in a rented house and the floor is ugly😔
You did a great job, it looks fab! The color is so warm. Fantastic job.
the kitchen definitely looks much better.I like this color too. I may pick these one up tomorrow.
I’m so glad they have these , I rent so I can’t renovate my floors so when I saw this I had to get these 🥺🤍
Love it!! You did such a good job. I live in Orlando & also had the same problem ... terrazzo is the worse 🙄
Thank you!! I don't mind terazzo but the shitty tile job they put over it was god awful!!
I love how it turned out! Definitely better than the grout pen idea I had lol. Great job. 🙂🙂
Haha! Thank you! Not a bad idea though! Def could have worked if the tiles weren’t like a Peach color

Looking much better than old. Very Nice. Great Job!👌👍☺
Damn you are doing a great job renovating your own home on a budget! Go girl!! Love it ❤️
Thank you so much!! :D
Looks so good for simple peel and stick. Thanks for the idea - my cat's room needs a new floor. lol
This home is a blessing.just beautiful 🤩
Wow looks really nice, I'm gonna do this too but can't decide if I'm putting the longer side of vynol facing entrance of kitchen, cause I see lots of tubers doing that, me myself it looks better putting the longer side of vynol from side to side of kitchen, BTW great job
I purchased the same vinyl peel and stick flooring you linked here for my 108 square feet (very small) bedroom 3 boxes for about $100 I can’t wait to pick up up tomorrow and do my bedroom. If it looks as good as you did, I’m going to do the same for my home office/lounge room. Thank you !
It looks amazing!!! This made me want to do it for my bathrooms and kitchen that have tacky linoleum
Thank you! You should! It's super easy :)
I finished ours today. I skipped the adhesive. They look really nice. Thank you for the "how to" video!
Yay! Glad you love it
Wow! It looks professional! Great job!
This looks incredible. Were you able to put the appliances back immediately after laying the flooring?
This turned out incredible! Great job girl! The feeling of a looking DIY project is priceless~!!!!!!!!
Thank you!!
You did a great job!! I absolutely love the way you’ve slowly been upgrading your home. It’s beautiful and I hope there are more videos to come! Much love, D 💚❤️
Thank you so much!! One room at a time! :) Definitely more coming
Wish they had these floor boards in South Africa! This looks amazing!
Looks really nice! You did an amazing job
Thank you so much!!! This video is so helpful! I bought some recently but the back is so sticky that it made it even harder to assemble it on the floor. I ended up with glue all over my hands. Was yours as bad as that? I'm now worried if it's going to leave a permanent mark because I'm staying at a rental 😅
Can’t wait to see the video after one yr if use, color is Awesome 🎊
Looks great- you did such a great job! Love it.
So gorgeous! Absolutely love your kitchen! ☘️💕Can’t wait for more DIYS great job!
Thank you so much Amanda! :)
How is the floor holding up today? Please do a follow up review! Thankssss
It looks great! So much cleaner and updated
Thank you!! 😊
Awesome. Pretty inspirational for me to get a move-on with our old kitchen. Cheers.
I just bought these exact ones! So excited to see they look amazing!!!!
Please do an update. Love this and I want to do this on my whole main floor. How is cleaning mopping/ vacuuming do you get scuff marks easy ? Does it clean easy ?
No scuff marks but you cannot wet mop as it isn't totally waterproof. I just posted an update in pinned comment!
Those vinyl planks are great, it looks so nice!
Thank you for your SMART tips! I'll definitely use extra adhesive. Embarrassingly, I took up wall to wall carpet (which is gross) years ago but money has been so tight buying flooring has had to wait. Well, I can't live another year with my ugly, nasty concrete floors! Lol! Your floors look so nice!
Thank you so much! I think you will love it! Sooo much better than carpet and easy to clean!
Meg! You are so good at this! I've been loving your DIYs for your new home! Seriously, good job dude!
Thank you so much!! Just trying my best to make it cuter :)
@@mustl0veshoes well I think it looks great! And I will deff be using some of these ideas with my new home as well!
Wow!! I am wondering if this would work if I put it on top of existing vinyl floor instead of hard tiles? We have an ugly rental apartment floor I want to spruce up but it needs to be removable!
I don't need to re-do anything, but I still click on these videos and give em a thumbs up because you deserve it and I love ur channelll, been watching since like 2015 I think?
I appreciate you so much!! Thank you for the support!! ❤️
This looks fabulous - and thanks for adding the update. I'm weighing my options with nice, but boring faux marble tiles.
Great choice! How is it holding up?
“The baseboards look like shit” at that moment, I knew I was a fan.
I don't know I laughed so hard when she said that
I love the island with the new floors!!
Looks great. Good job.❤😂
Can I ask how durable this product is and being laid straight over tiles, do the grout indentations end up showing through?
Stunning is right. Perfect!!!
Wow that turned out beautiful! I've done vinyl in our last house over cement and love love loved it! Wanna do a room in this house with it for my rabbits and that pattern you got is amazing! Great job!
You're DIY videos are amazing! You have a real talent for this stuff!
Thank you so much! :D
Awesome! Thank you for the tips!
Thanks for posting this! I am about to install the same floors in a week and this really taught me so much. How are they holding up?
You did an amazing job! It looks great!!
What a huge difference!!
It looks absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much!!
Very nice. When installing flooring one should always begin with the outside wall first because it's the straightest wall especially if you don't have a line to follow, but in your case you had the tile line. Also painting the baseboards first is the general rule before flooring. When renovating a room, you start with ceiling, then the walls and flooring is last.
I don’t always play by the rules Suzanne! I love the turn out 😌 not bad advice though!
omg your landlord should be happy for what you are doing to this house! is incredible, I hope they actually notice it and be grateful, what you did with the whole place is amazing!
btw you should consider doing this as a full time job!
I own the home! Lol but thank you :D
@@mustl0veshoes lol i am so used to watching "renter friendly"videos, is glad to know then!
Love this, I want to try my luck and use peel and stick in my kitchen and hallway, about how long did it take you to complete this? Thank you!
How do you match up the plank pieces
It seems like you have to match them up
Looks great. Does it scuff or scrape easily ? I have a rambunctious golden retriever.
Nope it hasn’t really scraped much! It’s not super shiny to start with so it should be ok!
Newbie to channel who has just subscribed, the floors look beautiful
Looks Magnificent!! 👍🏾
You laid it out beautifully!
Love this video!!!! Do u know how well it peels off on wood floor? I live in a rental and don’t wanna damage the floor when I return it
Good job! Looks amazing 🌟
Thank you! 😊
Looks great. Did you have any issues after time passed, like tiles coming unstuck or lifting?
I’ve had no issues! It still looks amazing! Only thing I would have done differently (to avoid problems in a few years) is put floor patch in the grout lines, a subscriber recommendation. But no issues at all. And there’s been plenty of spills
It looks really good! I could probably do this for my bedroom ☺️
Thank you! You definitely could
How is it holding up? Im thinking of doing the same thing, although my tiles are a bit cracked and broken, so I will remove the broken tiles and use self leveler. I am concerned about the grout lines showing through my vinyl tiles (I am using 12x12 tiles instead). Also, I am wondering if i need to rough up the tiles before placing the peel and stick tiles. Are any of the tiles coming up? Im afraid they wont tick to the ceramic tiles i have. Thanks! Your kitchen looks great BTW!
It’s holding up great I haven’t had any issues. I pinned a comment talking about the grout lines so take a look there! You don’t need to sand the tile first these are like a strong sticker. Just make sure to clean it and have it be dry before you apply
Looks amazing! Great job.
Amazing transformation!
May I ask, do you think these faux wood planks would work to cover wire shelving, to make it look like wood shelving? I was thinking of adhering it to poster board or foam board, and placing it on top of the wire shelves. Thanks!
I liked as soon as you said the floors looked like "shit". Yay a real person!
You did a flawless job! I want to do the same to my kitchen we have the same floors. But I’m always reading about how toxic these floors are and how they off gas a lot. Did you notice a strong smell with these vynal planks?
Hmmm I didn't notice any smells? I've never heard that before
I really like how your floor turned out. I am actually redoing my bathroom with the traffic master carrara marble. Maybe my kitchen and living room will be next.
I saw the tiles you're talking about at Home Depot, very pretty !!!
@@sunrae7680 thank you, I thought it would be a nice change and brighten it up.
Ahh! It looks so good! Can’t wait to do my floors! 👏🏽
Yay! Thank you!
Hi! Thank you for this video
I noticed that you have a dog as well. Is the floor resistant to doggies?
It looks awesome! You did an awesome job! Thanks for posting this info
Thanks for watching!
Is it waterproof? When you walk on it does it feel cheap? It looks amazing and affordable.
Thank you!! It does not feel cheap!! Mine came out super smooth. There’s no clanking or anything on the tiles either, it’s solid. It’s not waterproof in the way that if you poured something on the floor and left it for days.. you might have some lift if you did that. But if you spill something and clean it up it’s fine. I’m looking into a sealer for it just in case! I’d read through the Home Depot reviews! Most people have an awesome experience with them :)
Looks good can you please tell what floor Adhesive you used
It really looks 👍 . Can’t beat it for the price.
Wow! Looks amazing!
Major thumbs up!!! Thanks for showing us! :D
Thanks for watching love!!
