only i imagine that this sounds like a low-budget "Rihanna ft eminem"?
Look, its pretty good. But what the ever living hell happened to the rock and roll originality that filled the wreckroom two years ago. This is over-produced, its over-sexualized, and it lost the spark and creativity that make the skins special. The rest of the album is truly aweful. This is catchy, but not 1/10 of the quality produced two years ago.

Sometimes you have to adapt and change to make your mark. I agree that the older rock songs were very good...but sticking to just that will pigeonhole a band. This is just as creative and a lot of their newer stuff keeps that rock vibe while mixing in other musical elements. I'm glad they hooked up with Rick Rubin and expanded their musical horizons a bit. There will always be those who don't agree, who think the band has sold out....but how can you sell out if your goal is to make music that YOU want to make?
More like, music that Rick Rubin wants (them) to make. It's funny, I did not know that he was behind their latest stuff, but that's exactly the feeling I got from it. Now that I know, it fits. You say pigeonholing? That's what Rubin is doing to them, I say. Fitting them into a certain mold. As max white implies, the original sound was just that, original--which is the oppposite of a pigeonhole. There wasn't anybody really like them. Now? They're just like any of hundreds of other artists out there. Not bad, but not, well... themselves.
It's funny because actually with their new sound they actually sound more original and individual, before they sounded like a generic rock band.
max white wow, you went in pretty hard on them. I too like their older music, but I'm still a fan, and hope the best for this genre.
