- the great western (as we all know) like to look at railways though a different set of glasses. While some ideas got people questioning, just why?? others really did make a huge impact in the way we run services, even to today.

Great video. Glad to see someone else who also appreciates the real Rev. W. Awdry Railway Series ! Thanks.
The exterior gong was a warning device in lieu of the locomotives whistle, not for communicating with the fireman.
Donald and Douglas has never been illustrated nor mentioned to have ran the autocoach services as they aren’t auto fitted.
Clarabel isn’t an autocoach, but she is indeed a push-pull carriage, as seen in various illustrations where Thomas is puffing in reverse pushing the coaches backwards. There are some inconsistencies where Thomas pulls them in reverse the traditional way, but that could be explained with the push-pull equipment not being operational
Could railmotors and auto coaches have been the inspiration for the DMUs and EMUs that are commonplace on our rails today?
Composite means having both First and Second seating. You meant Clarabelle gas a guards compartment.
Two coaches between loco and leading cab was the limit due to the friction in the system. Other railways used a compressed air control systems.
If Clarabel isn't a push-pull coach, I should be very surprised. There are a couple of paintings in the RWS that show Thomas with Red Lamps, signifying that he's at the rear of the train.
Namely, the 6th image of Stepney's Special and the 5th image of Woolly Bear.
"Railmo'er". The T in the middle of words is written for a reason dear. Make an effort not to sound like a peasant please.
Absolutely no need for such a comment mocking somebodies way of pronouncing certain words, you wouldn't like it if somebody did it to you would you
