The hardest I worked to figure out a beat mixing wise!
And the sampling I only figured out because of yall help on my "Dilla is mind blowing" video.
Appreciate yall !
amazing breakdown fr
gotta implement those filter sweeps into my own beats somehow
Yo!! @Narokx I have a sample break down request for you!
and it's another J. Dilla sample (another one of my favs..)
The name of the song is "She Said" by "The Pharcyde" but it's a J. Dilla Remix
Could you make it happen when you have the free time??
Nobody talkin bout how you spotted those drums. Subtle detail but very impressive
:)
This is the best sample breakdown that i have ever seen
:)
Agreed !
Ditto
It's my second best after flashing lights
Facts!
J Dilla never ceases to amaze.
Hey there, TC baby!
“Now why you wanna go and do that love huh?”
Its really amazing how often Dilla sampled big pieces into the tiniest and back and forth. Wow.
You really go above and beyond man your work is amazing and appreciated
Thanks :)
Concordo!!! 😊
Yoooooo
Dilla was a genius, and so was your breakdown bro, amazing 🔥🤝
:)
Concordo! 😊
One of the hardest SMOOTHEST BEATS EVERRRRRRRR!!!!!AGHHHH!!!!!
This beat was way ahead of its time during the late-90s all thanks to the genius producer J Dilla! 💯🔥
And it goes on. We are just unearthing how he put it together. If only footage of him making a full beat comes out. This breakdown was a eye opener
Messing me up my whole head
JAMAICA FUNK AND TOWA TEI??!!! This just proves that Dilla was Einstein making Hip Hop Music!!! Forget other musicians and producers being able to physically create or recreate this beat. WHO ELSE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF IT IN THE FIRST PLACE????!!!
best breakdown video on youtube - so in depth but concise
FACTS
Can’t believe this is my fav tribe song and I never knew it was dilla

Great breakdown! Dillas chops went crazy on this track
One of his best, and probably his best mixing/Fx work
Didn’t realize that Mndsgn used the vocal melody at the beginning for Camelblues! So sick
Great name drop. Imma check it out soon. Always down for more Mndsgn
This is actually one of my favorite songs from tribe called quest specially since jdilla was on it. I havnt seen someone do a sample on it so THANK YOU 💙

Dillas a genius. Undeniably. But god dang for q tip to write a hook that sounds exactly like that sample is another realm of geniua
so glad to see youre getting the recognition you deserve, been here since your Welcome to the Show sample breakdown.
I've made it far enough that I can justify not quitting, but I haven't made far enough that the rewards justify the amount work being put in!
Imma keep it pushing! Thanks for being here :)
Okay with the catch on the automation ❤❤
Insane to produce this on a MPC
This was dope fr. Ty showing us this. I'm inspired to make more beats now!

This revelation was like a find treasure 🎶🎵❤😊
Ok I had to sub based on the insanity alone. You are meticulous!! I've been making beats for almost 30 years, and I wish I had like .002% of your dedication lol
the type of sample every producer wishes to stumble on
I want to complain but that's just impressive. Very nice work.
Thank you man ) amazing work !
One of my favorite samples of all time! Both songs fill me with so much joy! :)

DAMN THIS IS DOPE!
:)
Damn..!
Dilla was king
thank you you are awesome
Help me find my way❤
:)
J Dilla got the two samples from Towa Tei from a Producer/Emcee named S.P.O.T. (BeejNDem or 31 Flavors) from Southfield Michigan by way of South West Detroit... I was there when Spot discovered the samples and to use them.... I believe Spot sold the samples to Dilla for an ounce and some bread ... Hoping to work with him at a point .... Spot had the samples situated not on the 1234 but in just after the 1234 ( 1 - sample follows just after)....
That is aweeeesome !!!
Grrat job❤
Genius
1:06 man. even just playing the sample ALONE
Insane
WOW
I just knew that was Phifes voice in the background…learn something new everyday cuuuhhhddd
madness
genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!
👌👌👌
Sick
DOPE
Wow
Beautiful.. I suck... haha
Can you make the sample breakdown of "Lady Brown - Nujabes" please??
😍
Great job as always. For some reason when I listen to the original, it seems like I can hear the woman saying “find my way” more. Not sure why that is.
I don't understand... the woman is speaking portuguese
@@Narokx I know she’s not actually saying it, but it sounds like she is when I listen to the original. It’s probably because Tribe are singing, and that creates the illusion.
that's Dilla's magic, he did this a couple of times
but actually i think he would hear a phrase similar to another one and then he'd use the one it sounded like as the track title so that the listener's brain only registers what Dilla wanted it to register
I thought the same thing. In the music they include captions during the chorus in the beginning and it literally sounds like she's saying all the the words.
Dilla literally playing with our brains.
“Que vem do pé meu bem”.
It’s funny because even to Portuguese speakers it sounds weird some of the words she sings.
why have you done all my favorite deep cuts?
What about the baseline ?
Not sure of intended but this vid length is the same as the actual track!
Of course it was! I am a genius :)
I had absolutely no idea, holy shit that is a cool coincidence!!! Thanks for pointing it out :)
how did you EQ out the drums on the technova sample so cleanly? I can't find such a clean version of the chorus anywhere
edit: nevermind lol i wasn't looking hard enough. found it. great breakdown!
Anyone know what Software is being used to get these waveforms? thanks
Wait so he added his own shakers to the drums?
Why did you split the frequencies if you could use high shelf or low shelf?
Easier to do the volume effect. The stabs is just the high end being messed with
all group wanted to sound like Tribe, but they couldnt, maybe mix secreat
what program are you using for visualizing the waveforms?
Fl Studio
🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰👏👏👏👏
How did you? How did he?
TOM BROWNE - FUNKIN' FOR JAMAICA??
I thought this was Tip's beat😮
its the group
2:52
🫡
Why not the props to the Brazilian song tho? Astrud Gilberto killin it
Mencionei no video que eu pedi ajuda pra terminar esse breakdown!
"J Dilla is mind blowing... help"
I think that’s Bebel Gilberto not Astrud.
Bebel.
Genius
