I love the forearm PDA thing, it's a great way to avoid UI clutter on your screen and I just love how practical it is with little to no "gamified" menus and tabs.
Reminds me of an offshoot of the gunslinger mod for call of pripyat. Forget the dev who did it, but it was just a forearm pda, but this one is way cooler.
Also that you actually have to type into the laptop?!?! I LOVE this. I hate the normal approach of pressing (or holding for that matter), a key on your keyboard and your character typing somthing inside of the terminal. This ways it will be waaaay more immersive!
I hope they make it so the color changes per squad mate, it looks like on the PDA they have colors assigned to each teammate, but the chem lights are only one color. That one change would be so awesome.
There are a lot now, but I think overall it's a really underused genre so I'm happy that a lot of teams are making those kinds of games I hope a more organized military team fighting monsters becomes more common, rather than just individual rats running around. We almost kind of had that when Jurassic Park and Alien video games started being made, but they focused more on a single player campaign than a multiplayer like is more popular.
Okay so while thats not what you should ever see on the /etc/passwd file, the fact that you are in fact looking at that file in order to get access credentials *is* pretty neat and has me even more hyped. The interactivity for the computers looks like it might have some decent depth.
There's actually a bunch more functionality in the current/planned builds too. A lot of it has no documentation to allow for true "exploration" of the computers... pretty neat
this some Fallout terminal x HD2 strategem level of engagement. I'm excited, heard it can be used to interact with the environments around that can come as a leverage for the player

Not only do you need to interact with the system to achieve certain objectives, but you can organically browse your way through the system in order to access facility functions (routing power, for instance, or locking/unlocking security gates), break into the facility's link to players' arm-mounted PDA's to ascertain their positions, and even uncover hidden bits of lore. Plus, since this system is based on real coding and follows real logic, knowledgeable players can discover shortcuts and "hacks" to optimize their use of the system. Meaning it takes real developed skill to use the terminals efficiently, encouraging specialization amoung players, and thus driving team-play. The dedicated computer-whiz will need people watching his back, after all.

One thing that drives me off from extraction games is the cheaters, they're bearable in arena or battle royale shooters but dying to cheaters feels so shitty on a game where you lose it all on death
From what I understand about this game is you will still be able to have good guns and such even if you get killed. There will be some loot to pickup but not anything weapon related. Think you get money based on what you bring back but not sure.
Yup. That’s the exact reason I uninstalled Tarkov. Why waste dozens of hours on good gear and important items for an invisible player, or wall hacker to just kill you with no warning.

Its a great year for mix genres.
Idk how many have the setup to hear it but throughout the video there are these super low bass sweeps and sounds. If that's in game thats badass, super eerie feel.

Watched the old gameplay you did awhile ago, my first thoughts of the game was like a modernized Hunt Showdown. Now it feels like the devs spent some good time updating it. The Player controlling AI anomalies is a fascinating mechanic and part of me is curious what strategies people will come up with to overcome it. I am very excited
You can tell a lot of love and care has gone into this and its really shaping up. It might be a mix of things we've seen before but it's certainly caught my eye for the aforementioned reasons.
There are SO many games in this genre that my whole friend group wouldve bought if they were co-op PvE. Sadly, this is another one where we talk about how cool the setting is but never end up buying it cause none of us have the time or patience to keep up with metas and wipes and stuff. If more extraction shooters let you play against bots with friends and skip the part where you die to someone who has more spare time to dedicate to the game, a whole new market of gamers would eat them up. Look at Grey zone warfare.

While I get the time problems that come with PvP games I do not quite get what the appeal of a game like this would be without it. without the threat of another player the tension that comes through risk is gone and at that point you just end up with a game that would be a grind for gear/mission rewards for the sake of it would it not?

5:20 10/10 LFE usage. The people with sets and speakers than get to experience it it just elevates everything. More games like this need to use it. It's basically a harmonic cheat code to make you feel tense and uneasy.

yeah but like the only stalker-like extraction shooter we have is hunt shodown, and it's not modern. while I would have liked a coop game a lot more, this is not really something that currently exists in the market.
It's been trending for over a decade, now. Surely smaller indie developers are making other genres out of passion. But money follows a sure thing. It optimizes, it doesn't reinvent or experiment.

just got a pair of DT 990 pros, they came a little borked out the box with the left side being louder than the right (yes i switched sides and still same) but overall the sound scaping and the footsteps and just the wide range is so cool, watching your videos is a treat now
These guys are doing extraction shooter THE RIGHT WAY. They are also developing it in a VERY open/transparent and honest fashion. My only concern is how they handle ANTI CHEAT. As long as they do better than the industry standard and are as open as they say to trying new/unique methods to keep cheaters at bay... I think the rest of game will come together fantastically.

This is the best game i've ever seen that implies a realistic S.T.A.L.K.E.R Feature and SCP Monsters, but that looks incredibly realistic
