  • Join us for a video featuring a performance of Karl Davydov's "Romance Without Words" (Romance Sans Paroles) Op. 23. This is the first collaborative recording of myself, Maxim Kozlov, and a pianist Tatiana Mann tatianaroitmanmann.com/. Today, we bring to life the work of a composer dearly cherished in the Russian cello school and known for his exquisite cello concertos - each a prized gem in the cello repertoire.
After the performance, don't miss our conversation where we talk about the nuances of collaborative music-making. We explore challenges such as starting a piece, breathing together, and ensuring seamless ensemble playing. Listen as Tatiana shares her approach to the piano part, focusing on weight, legato sound, and the importance of connecting the right and left hands to avoid gaps in the music. This video offers a rare glimpse into the rehearsal process and the intricate decisions that shape our performance. Stay tuned for more musical explorations and discoveries as we continue to delve into chamber music and share new pieces with you.

hi, i am an italian cellist and i play cello since 8 years, and for me you are the best cellist teacher of youtube, and you are also very good at teaching and making many people listen to the cello who probably don’t know it ❤

I’m so proud and glad I’m taking your lessons on Udemy. 👏 👏 👏
I don’t play the piano, but I was able to follow every thought that Tatiana exposed on her part.
Truly a superb master class for those starting to play in an ensemble.

I don't think I have, I'm going to check. I practiced this piece for a while and then moved on to other things, I'm practicing etude 7 SLee on your Udemy course at the moment. I love the way you play cello so expressively, I'm working on my bowing & everything else of corse. Thankyou for replying to my comment.

I really love your videos and you are an amazing teacher! You have helped me so much. Do you think you could make a slow version of Elgar’s Cello Concerto Movement 2? I’m trying to learn it but most recordings are too fast to be really helpful.
