Thank you for not just listing the fruits but explaining how they are helpful. My mom was from the south, so salt was sprinkled on watermelon, tomatoes, and avacado too 😊
@dr.frita You are a national treasure (possibly an international treasure). Thank you for all you do as a brilliant and caring professional advising a holistic approach to wellness.
Good morning Dr Frita. Thank you so much for this information.... Batteries that you mention I love especially blueberries, apples, bananas, watermelon, mangles is one of my favorites and pomegranate, but I had no idea it would be helping you with your blood pressure. I'm fairly new to your channel and this is my first comment. I would like to ask a question please. If the doctor said that you are a borderline diabetic..... What is the best thing to do for that so that you do not become a diabetic. Love you may God continue to bless you and always looking forward to seeing you next videos. You have a blessed day 🙏😊❤️
Dr. Frita, thank you so much for your post. I am a 72 year old man whose blood pressure is 140/ 87. Is this too high? I will follow your instructions on how to low my blood pressure by eating healthily as you recommended. Again thank you.
That's roughly normal. Blood pressure between 120/80 to 140/90 is actually normal. Higher than that is where you encounter serious issues. You're hovering near high blood pressure though and should lower it asap.
Hello Mrs Frita, thank you so much for always sharing wisdom. I wrote this down and also downloaded the pdf. I purchased your book. It's helping my mom very much as well learning to manage it at home. Her cardiologist is proud of her improvement. Thank you and God bless you and your family ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Good morning and thank you. Will try to incorporate more of these fruits in my eating habits. Trying to have & maintain better health. Thanks again for your knowledge & honesty, your blessed with truth & experience. Much love 🫶
What about blood sugar levels spiking from eating pineapple, bananas, watermelon. If you are on blood pressure medication should grapefruits be eaten. Thank you
So many of these fruits are very high in sugar and if you are a Diabetic 1 or 11 you need to check them out carefully and not eat with great abandon. Many people with diabetes can also have kidney issues and excess sugar can do further harm. They are all so delicious but knowing how much to eat and which ones to eat sparingly is very important . You are correct about pineapple, bananas and watermelon. I eat grapefruit at the opposite end of the day and take my blood pressure medication at the other end. As long as there is at least 6 hours separation you are not doing harm. Just never take them at the same time. Grapefruit intensifies the effects of blood pressure medication. I would not take any medication the same time that I eat grapefruit.
If you combine pineapple and banana in a smoothie with some sort of greens, spinach, kale, watercress, whatever the blood sugar spike is greatly diminished.
Thanks Dr. Frita! I just ordered your book. I am glad you mentioned peaches because I planted a beautiful peach tree in my yard four years ago and now we look forward to lots of juicy peaches every August. I also give many peaches to my neighbors.
I have been taking medication for years and was told I had to give up my beloved grapefruit. I am hoping new evidence proves I can eat them. I will get your book!
Awesome, Dr. Frita. Love that beautiful array of fruits. On a quest to lower my BP without meds. As such, I will be incorporating these nutritious beauties in my food repertoire. Thanks for the invaluable information.
Okay! I am listening while watching your generous presentation of recommendations... I appreciate and will change the amounts and types of fruits that I include in my daily diet.
Good morning over here in Australia Dr Frita. I love watching your videos so far this one has been the most interesting and important for me. Because my sysolic (the high number reading) and diostolic (low number) has been a bit high. So I've cut a lot of salt out of my diet and am exercising three times a week now. Keen neurologist in the making! 🇦🇺😊
Hello Dr. Frita, good to see your video since I happen to be searching for natural items to lower my blood pressure since my blood pressure meds have attacked me so much with 14 side effects. However, I'm allergic to citric acid fruits, and non citric acid ones that have citric acid in them like many berries according to online reports. I already eat apples and bananas and will increase their amounts, and add watermelon along with cantaloupe I often eat. Thanks for your video. Annie Hudson-McKnight
So like so many videos out here, they tell us what to use to help our health but never say how to use it. How much should we eat these foods a day or week or month, also how long before we can see results.
Hi Dr. Frits, I love your videos ❤ and the information you provide. I was wondering if you stuff from high blood pressure and if these items help you manage it. Thank so much 🙏
If your dealing with high BP and managing blood sugar...berries have the lowest amount of sugar. Also though not a fruit beets are really good for lowing BP.
Thank you for the above fruits to eat.lve been suffering from BP for over a decade and I need help on how it could be lower Kindly send me a copy of your book, and let me know the cost please. Again, thanks you for enlighten me and others in the same position.
Great information Dr. Frita. I've been telling certain family members about good fruits to help with high blood pressure. If they hear it from an actual Doctor, maybe they will finally listen lol. I will be forwarding this information. Thank you!
Some of the fruits can't be eaten with blood pressure medicine like grapefruits correct? Also, how about the fruits with the Potassium? Isn't too much Potassium bad for the heart?
I've been talking to my doctor, and they put me on new blood pressure medication. Since starting it, I've noticed my eyesight getting worse. When I wake up around 4:00 AM, it feels like I'm seeing "snow" in my vision-kind of like that static gray screen when the TV is off. Millennials will know what I mean, lol. On top of that, my medication dosage keeps getting increased, and the side effects are becoming unbearable. I feel sleepy and fatigued all the time, and sometimes I get dizzy. Before this change, I used to take minoxidil and clonidine. Minoxidil made me grow a lot of hair on my body and face, turning my baby face into something like a wolf-man, haha. But these new meds feel like they're killing me slowly while keeping me alive at the same time. I've also started to notice pain in my body, and it feels like my nerves are going haywire. I'm willing to try anything, so I'm giving a fruit diet a shot for two weeks to see if it helps. I've tried other fruits and teas before, and while they helped a little, it wasn't enough. I'm desperate at this point. I'm diabetic, on dialysis, and have heart problems from high blood pressure. Honestly, I figure if I'm going to die anyway, I might as well try to improve my quality of life however I can. It feels like every time I talk to a doctor, they just want to keep me on meds or add even more. I know this because two of my uncles are doctors-one's a foot surgeon, and the other's a back and spine surgeon. They’ve told me that doctors get a percentage of the medications they prescribe, and that’s why they're so eager to push more drugs on patients. I'm fed up with doctors and ready to live life on my own terms, free from all these medications. I’ll give this diet a two-week trial and see what happens. After that, I’ll decide whether to keep going or not. I'll keep you updated if you want.
I like how you mentioned not every fruit is for everyone, i cant do bananas and other high fructose fruits because of blood sugar, avocados are the best!
I have high blood pressure and was getting lots of heart palpitations. My Drs did blood tests and told me to stop eating bananas and other foods high in Potassium - can you help with this please as I am confused? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Your advice about checking with your physician about what fruits to eat is very important! A nutritionist has warned diabetic and pre-diabetic patients to AVOID peaches, Kiwi fruit, pineapple, watermelon, mango fruit and to eat oranges, blueberries and apples in MODERATION because of high sugar levels. Thanks for informing us about natural ways to reduce high blood pressure.
@Dr. Frita Question pls l love all these fruits, bananas are high in sugar and Avocados are high in Histamine and unfortunately for me l have to stay around a low Histamine diet. What would you suggest for me? Thank you! 💞
Very useful advices. Thank you! Fruits are my favorite food. And, especially the ones you have recommended 😊 The video is filmed in a kind of dark light, hard to see.
Hi, Dr. Frita, if you were to recommend the top 4 fruits (not including bananas or grapefruit) what would you recommend? Sometimes it's very expensive to buy fresh fruit, plus I live by myself and fresh fruit goes off so quickly I hate wasting it. Thank you from Ireland 😊
