Okay, I’m buying your course. You are such a good instructor, and one of the very few who is offering something affordable. I’m not against spending money, but I get so tired of artists wanting $250 for a course. I know it takes work to put these things together, but it feels like a big leap of faith (and most aren’t as good as what you’re doing here). And thank you for directing me to this video. It’s similar to the dry plus wet in wet technique, and I hope you’ll do more on this.
I really appreciate your watercolor help, I'm just getting back into it after not using them for 20+ years and it's helped me to be successful with my art almost immediately instead of stumbling over trying to remember what I learned in school. Thank you!
I'm also a big proponent of dry blotting, whether it's with a drier brush, a tissue, or my fingers. With brushes, I find that soft brushes and bristle brushes blend differently when you use them to dry-blot, which is pretty handy to have in the back pocket.
Thanks Liron. I haven't found a good fine mist sprayer yet. Always to much and to wide a water pattern. I'll keep looking and practicing not to wash put all I've just painted. Could be pilot error 😄👍
It's funny how tricky this can be, right? 😂 It took me a long time to find this one that's just perfect. I had one I liked before, but it got ran over by a car while I was plein-airing haha (was my fault actually).

I just started watercolor painting in June during the lockdown. I prefer the impressionistic, loose style. It’s a great pastime. Liron Yanconsky Trying to blend the transition of dark to light on a still life painting I think there is too much of an edge left. Trying harder I end up with water leaching the upstream pigment. Also blending is like washout where to much effort ends up the same problem

After using the Escoda brushes for a while, how do you feel they compare with sable? I’m still pondering whether or not they may be a better bet than some of the sable brushes I use, as yours never seems to lose that nice point. How do they compare with their pigment holding capacity? Love a quick vid on this subject with your thoughts.
Thank you Alison 😊🙏🏼 The water holding capacity is great, but plenty of other brands provide that as well. The point, however, is superior to other brands, from my experience. If this is important to you, I'd consider getting these. However, remember you can always work with two brushes simultaneously and switch between them - one for the larger areas, and a smaller one for the details. I actually do that often. Haha yes, it can be a bit challenging at first (: I think that in the beginning, it's best to use it to pre-wet the paper for the FIRST wash, just to get a feel for it. At that stage, it's still hard to really "ruin" something, so it's good training wheels

Yep. One of the tutors I have learn under, uses it a lot, especially when painting florals
I think the most movingest paint I've ever used was Sennelier's Caput Mortuum. Practically explodes across the page when you drop it into wet.

But if you have already painted small area without wet on wet...how do you soften edge?suppose in an eye of a bird?
Do you mean if the edge already dried?
Usually it involves re-wetting it, and then scrubbing it.
