Good topic but genuinely wonder why categories went away. Always thought they made the drafts much better. Feel like this woulda been a great one for that
@@thpisland2423 yeah but it forces people to pick certain categories earlier if its a weak category. bears jets raiders lions(yes they are good now) cardinals jags texans bengals redskins even the bills could be picked. thats 10 teams that will probably be picked. edit i didnt even say the damn browns.
@@jgo413Yeah that’s a fair point but in general it feels like they always could do categories and they never do. Also that was always the fun of the old drafts, deep vs shallow categories, builds strategy into things
One of the best regular season records in the last 15 years, two WS appearances on a shoe string budget. A moneyball team that actually had playoff success. Insane to pick them in the second round.
A’s in the first round is all-time bad. Recent records yes, but they have won 9 World Series and 15 AL pennants. One of the most historic franchises in baseball.
Big Rays fan here: The Rays have one of the best regular season records over the last 15 years, multiple World Series appearances too. They’re the money ball of the modern era, they innovate like crazy (they brought in the opener idea years ago), they’re like the twins, but they actually do something big in the playoffs every now and then. To put them in the second round is an abysmally bad take. WOOF. Put me on the show instead please!
Rays, and every mlb team, bring in $200 mill a year from shared tv revenue, but they spend 1/5th of that. Their stadium and game experience is a joke. Those two things make them a bad franchise
Maple Leafs should be on here. Almost going to be 60 years since they last won the Stanley Cup. Consistent high expectations only to be dashed in the playoffs
How have the white Sox only won 3 playoff series when they've won the world series 3 times. I'm counting 5 series wins. We Sox fans don't need WSD making us look any worse than we already do
White Sox Dave doesn’t know sh*t. I watch these dudes even though they drive me nuts. Chicagoans are so full of crap they’re clueless to sports & history..
The Raptors have been top 5 in wins in the NBA since 2010 until the nuggets passed them this season, won a championship, multiple Eastern Conference appearances and division titles. They most definitely have been relevant the last 15 years but american networks have no incentive to show their games so there is never any exposure because their revenue only goes to canadian networks
Browns won four NFL Championships in the 50's and 60's and had Jim Brown. NFL championships should matter more prior to the Superbowl era but for some reason everyone acts like it doesn't exist.
I know they’re good now, but the Phillies not being even an honorable mention is a huge snub. They were established in 1883 and didn’t win their first WS title until 1980. During that same 97 year stretch, they had just 5 playoff appearances, and won a total of 3 playoff games. Even after becoming a pretty good team from the late 1970s through today, they’re still the worst of the original MLB franchises, Their .474 franchise winning percentage is worst among the original 16 MLB franchises. They’re the only MLB franchise with 11,000+ losses, a mark that they reached before they reached 10,000 wins. Maybe I’m biased, but I’ve always considered them to be a worse franchise than either Chicago baseball team, even before either one broke their long WS droughts. There’s no way you can argue against it today now that the Cubs and White Sox both have 3, while the Phillies only have 2.
As a Washington Redskins fan, kinda glad they weren’t drafted and I know they have 3 Super Bowl wins but haven’t won any of them since the early 90’s and been awful and embarrassing for decades, one of the worst owners in history of sports and the worst grossest stadiums ever, and a dumb name change twice.
As a Lions fan, we should've easily been a top 3 pick. These past 2 season have jaded the national perception of how horrible and inept we have been and how much fans have suffered (this is why we are puffing our chests so hard now because it's legitimately the only time we ever could). We had 1 playoff win in the super bowl era before last year. 'Nuff said
I think if youve won a title, you should be disqualified from this list.. especially if youve won more than 1. Every fan base would love to have that 1986 Mets team in their lineage.
Didn’t talk about the bobcats enough. Not only did they have the worst season in nba history, they then lost the draft lottery and watched Anthony Davis go to New Orleans and they followed up by drafting a bust 2nd overall
The Bengals are without a doubt top 25. They’ve been to 3 super bowls in 50+ years and lost all of them. They went 30+ years without a playoff win. Until 2 years ago they were the only team in the NFL without an indoor practice facility
I lived with two die hard browns fans the year they went winless and by golly every week they’d get hyped up for the game all the same no matter what .. extremely loyal fanbase
A’s fans are plenty and are uber passionate. They proved that. The only reason people didn’t show up cus they repeatedly had lowest payroll, signed nobody of consequence, and they got fed up supporting that clown of an owner. The biggest contract in their org was given before the current owner. And he just surpassed that amount which is embarrassing given how many years later/inflation.
The Maple Leafs are like the Cowboys. High expectations every year, lots of primetime games/media coverage/superstars…. Always lose early in the playoffs. Rinse and repeat year after year
A’s is crazy to me, not because it’s a bad pick but because it’s a pick that has not much to do with the on field product and more so everything around what’s happening off the field
The Coyotes should have never left downtown PHX for Glendale. Nobody from AZ wants to drive to Glendale on a random Tuesday night. Never understood why they didn’t just share the Suns arena like every other NHL/NBA teams.
Sacramento King are legit one of the worst franchises in all of sports. I don’t know how they made it to Round 5. They will never win a championship in our lifetimes, it’s a guarantee. They’ve fumbled and fucked up anything good they’ve ever had. Ownership has no idea what they’re doing. Terrible front office. Former players resent the team. And they’re in a really shitty market. They’re lucky they got a decent arena and seem to be some passionate fans or they would be a 1st round pick in this draft.
The Pirates are the worst franchise in baseball. It’s WILD they are in the 5th round. They’ve PLAYED, not won, played 8 postseason games in the last 30 years.
Rays are a horrible franchise. They don’t try to spend. They worry about their bottom line first and then fielding the best team they can at the absolute cheapest possible
Sure the rays are clearly an above average team from a competitive standpoint. But then you factor in that they’ve only spent big money on one player ever and that player turned out to be dating a 15 year old and it kinda tracks
Dave spewing made up facts that aren’t true, Rico using every pick to talk about one of his blogs, chief playing “poor me” w the blackhawks after 3 cups, ev overspeaking on every sentence. Classic snake draft
Die hard wizards fan...Double vodka don, you have no idea how bad this franchise has killed me. I have to hide the fact that I'm a wizards fan in my home state..should have been 1st pick of the draft!

I get the browns hate but nobody wants to talk about the TWELVE other teams who wanted watson. At the time he was a top 5 QB and baker was not playing like he is now. But everyone acts like the browns were the only team to be in on deshaun
Here’s the thing with the Watson trade. I’m a Texans fan so I followed it closely. The day before the trade happened Watson took Cleveland off of his list of places to play because he wanted to stay close to home (Atlanta). Then the Browns say they’ll give him this fully guaranteed contract and Watson puts him back on his list. It just showed that the Browns knew Watson didn’t want to go there but were so desperate and offered this terrible trade and contract

Awful pick. Especially as a bears fan.
One of the best regular season records in the last 15 years, two WS appearances on a shoe string budget. A moneyball team that actually had playoff success. Insane to pick them in the second round.

Eddie defending his bad picks and desperately trying to poke holes in better picks is like death & taxes
Maple Leafs should be on here. Almost going to be 60 years since they last won the Stanley Cup. Consistent high expectations only to be dashed in the playoffs
What's funny is Lions objectively as inept as any franchises ever but 2 dominant years in a row erase shit
Rays and Angels taken ahead of the Marlins is insanity.

Soldier field is so shit that Chicago is the only major US city that did not get a World Cup game in 26
thats actually wild, Chicago had a global pull not even a decade ago
Live in la and had a friend get drafted by the angles then subsequently die while playing for them and I still forget they even exist
The White Sox did win playoff series… World Series III vs the Cubs in 1906, & the World Series vs the Giants in 1917.
Best Pirates… 1. Honus Wagner 2. Barry Bonds 3. Roberto Clemente 4. Willie Stargell 5. Paul Waner

The current Hornets have the Bobcats and 90s Hornets record books so Chief mixed that up.
