Antarmayi - Day 6 - The Slaying of Chanda & Munda (Navaratri Dance - Bharathanatyam Production)

Antarmayi is a collaborative project of three artists - Rakshita Raghunathan , Ragini Iyer and Sujatha Ramanathan with a quest to find the inner Goddess .The work revolves around the research and understanding of the auspicious "Devi Mahatmyam" lending itself into unearthing the several aspects in this process .
The choreography which has spoken words in English , Jathis , Swarams , Raag Aalaap , along with musical elements are defined for each of the 9 days of Navaratri to compile into a digital media production encapsulating several glorious facets of the supreme Goddess.
Each episode comprising of one element for 3 - 5 minutes per day .
Each of the 9 days presents itself an element which leads into the other and progresses from the creation of Devi , her many battles with demons .This metaphorically explains us to introspect the demons that are within us and the goodness of Devi which is also within us too.

RAKSHITA RAGHUNATHAN
Rakshita is a Bharatanatyam is a performer , teacher and choreographer .
She has learnt both Carnatic music and Bharatanatyam since childhood.
A once Structural designer by profession, she has also authored and published research papers in Earthquake Engineering during her course of study in the past.
She has built expertise on creating learning modules for beginners and has built credibility in the digital learning space .
‘Samridhi’ which was launched in 2016, a maiden initiative to edify Bharathanatyam through video tutorials on RUclips, with the goal of making this art available for everyone. Today, her channel has 40 Lakh Views & 47,000+ Subscribers with an organic audience and engagement
She is a recipient of ‘Yuva Kala Bharati’ award won in her earlier days from Bharati Yuvakendra, Madurai. Rakshita is a certified member of International Dance Council, CID (UNESCO) and is affiliated to certify students with International recognitions. She is a Certified Therapeutic Art Life Coach accredited from Transformation Academy, Florida, USA and is also Certified in Dance Movement Psychotherapy from Centre of Excellence, Manchester, UK.

SUJATHA RAMANATHAN
Sujatha Ramanathan is a performing Bharatanatyam artiste , Choreographer , aspiring Carnatic Vocalist and a qualified Cost Accountant.
Sujatha Ramanathan is a disciple of Guru Lata Raman in Mumbai and has previously learnt from PadmaShri and Sangeetha Natak Academy awardee - Guru Adayar K Lakshman during her growing up years in Chennai .
Given her deep interest for music along with dance , she is pursuing Bachelor s degree in Carnatic Music from Annamalai University and Alankar from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya .She learns Violin from Smt Lalitha Ramachandran and trains in Kalaripattu from Shri Vasanth .
Sujatha has performed in several prestigious festivals in India and abroad , some of them are the Natyanjali festival in Chidambaram and in Mumbai , Goa - Commerce awards , Upvan Utsav , Bandra- NCPA festival in Mumbai , Cuttak Utsav , in Shanmukhananda Sabha , Bandra - NCPA Mumbai dance festival , etc.
In the Digital medium she has performed for several festivals , some of them are Ananthapuri festival , Meet kalakaar , Parampara festival ,etc.
She is the recipient of prestigious awards such as -
“ Bharat Gaurav Samman “ in Nepal in 2020 by the Indian Ambassador .

RAGINI IYER :
Ragini Iyer is a Bharatanatyam performer, choreographer and teacher based out of Bangalore, India.
Having graduated from Indian Institute Of Management, she has been a management professional with over 10 years corporate experience.
She is a disciple of Smt. Veena Ramakrishnan (Director Shri Nrityam, Chennai).She also trained under Gurus like Smt. Vasanti Sridhar, New Delhi and Smt. Jayakamala Pandian (Director, Rajaratnalaya School of Dance and daughter of Kalaimamani Swamimalai SK Rajaratnam Pillai).
She is a regular performer under various banners including RK Swami Sabha, Kartika Fine Arts, Parthasarathy Swami Sabha and more recently for online boutique arts management platforms.
She is the founder of Swayukti Natyashala, Bangalore.
