Robert Schumann: Canonic Etude in A-Flat Major, Op. 56 No. 4

Robert Schumann's 6 Studien in kanonischer Form are some of the best works ever written for pedal piano. The beautiful call-and-response melodies in this piece are so organic that the listener may not even realize the strict and pervading canons that govern them.
This recording was made by Grant Smith at Rice University on the Fisk/Rosales organ in January 2023.
