Eager to make the Brimfield star but confused about the three different sizes of papers and templates. What are the finished block sizes for each size and what should be ordered to make a block a 12 inch block. Thank you

Hi there - sorry we missed your question earlier. Okay, the Brimfield Block Star original size finishes at 12.5". Baby Brimfield star finishes at 50% that size (6.25") and Bitty Brimfield Star finishes at 25% of the original - ~3.13". You want to make the original Brimfield Block Star size, so you should go to our website and click on the "Brimfield Block STAR" section. You can purchase bulk packs (to make 12 blocks) or single packs to make just one block. Thanks for asking!

Hi Bonnie, just visit our website www.brimfieldawakening.com. Once you were there you can click on the “shop” tab and it will bring you to all of our patterns. Click on Brimfield block star. We have the pattern, papers, and acrylics to make this quilt. And, we also ship to Canada! Please keep in mind that our shipping calculator almost always over estimates international shipping costs. However, we always refund shipping overages greater than a dollar. So please don’t let that scare you off. Thanks for leaving a comment❤️

Hello. My question is if you take the paper off from the fabric before sewing?
and do you sewing or glue it ? I would like to see the process. Thank you.

Hi Lee, yes, before we appliqué the blocks down to the background square we pop the papers out. We use Roxanne glue paste it and small dots all around the blocks edges and then heat set with an iron. After that you can appliqué by machine or by hand. Our pattern goes over our step-by-step process and you can find it on our website at www.brimfieldawakening.com

Susan Maddox Hi there. I think any of the washable glue’s sets a little stronger when you put an iron to it. In this example I think I was just using my sewline glue pen which is the glue pen we use for glue basting our paper pieces. If you use Elmers glue, and I don’t recommend using that, but I have used it in a bind, when you put an iron to it it will set it’s a little stronger until you wash it out. I hope that helps. Also there are appliqué glues that you can purchase specifically for appliquéing. I don’t think I had any on hand at the time. Hope that helps☺️
