Harley, come up to Sydney and do the St Peters parkrun. I'd think it'd be so cool to see you there. Also, it's one of the most competitive parkruns in Aus
@@durianriders yeah you came first. The results are on the Parkrun website. It's pretty crazy your still winning parksruns in the 45-50 age category! Most of the people who win the St Peters parkruns are guys in their late 20s
This film will give the doubters something to think about. You were passing people over twenty years younger than you and holding with very good riders. You sure can ride.
He rode to the top of the climb & then rolled home slowly while the rest of the bunch went on to ride 100km. Nothing that impressive about a 13 min effort at about 350W. I have't seen the clown post a ride with an average speed faster than 27kph all year or a ride longer than 40km & he's still crapping on about how fast his old bikes are compared to the new ones.....
@ ok thanks because I have started adding it to fruit smoothies orange juice etc and really find it helps me massively just like you preach. It is also so easy to digest and tolerate unlike these Maurten drinks and gels which wreck my stomach
Any WT riders in town for the TdU yet? Any chance of getting some interviews with them this year? I know they talk to you off the record but let's at least get some short soundbites 👍
What are the chances you could get one of the faster riders on one of your rim brake bikes to see if they can improve their time? Would make an interesting video👍
Not yet. Biggest ride Ive done this year was 65km back in Jan. My vo2max is there but how my neck would go on a 100km ride Im not so sure yet. Lucky Im not a pro rider lol.
Would have been at least 100 riders on the climb. About 45-50 in our group. My 13:18 got me 7th place on the day. Over 350 strava entries that day. On the SL8 Sworks would have been 14:05ish. When I don’t care about performance I ride the disc. When I care about every second then rim brake is a no brained decision.
@durianriders you can smash these guys if you gave yourself the advantage. At least, new shoes will lock you foot to the peadal secure, look at track sprinters, they use 0° float and heavy straps because they know that locked feet = power.
Tell us how a rider on HEAVIER bike goes FASTER up a hill than if that same rider was on a lighter bike with zero brake rub. 😂😂 You are on your 9th booster I bet because you lack solution based thinking and just use crowd based thinking instead right? ‘If everyone else does it then that’s the right way!’
@durianriders But your sentiment is totally irrelevant, disc brake WT bikes from all manufacturers smash the UCI weight limit, they have to add weight such as mounts, cages to make them all comply. The reason you got dropped is the dudes in front of you are all on modern aero disc brake bikes most likely running 28mm to 32mm tubeless tires with lower air pressure for better tire contact to the road, just follow the science, come on, get with the times and ride a decent bike, good effort though✌🏼👍
Then explain the 100+ riders on this climb who got dropped by me YET they were riding what you recommended. How many guys finished in front of me that day? Count how many riders I passed. Plus there was at least 50 in that bunch we started with. Watch next week. I will show how big the pack is vs slot in at the front. Also remember I’m almost 50 and the 7 or so riders who finished in front of me LITERALLY have ridden more in the past 2 weeks than I’ve gone all year. Put them on my bike and they go even faster. It’s just science mate ❤️💯🤝
I do this ride on my Merida Scutera 100.. it’s a tough slog up the hill on this entry level bike but for the love of riding it does the job. I’ve ridden 20,000 kms on it. Can’t push as hard as you guys, I average 4wpkg. Funny but I was actually planning this ride today but was too lazy to take my bike off the Zwift trainer.. would love to join some time 💪🙏
Saw a beautiful sl6 54cm 12speed di2 mechanical rim brake (yes rim brake) gold leaf and raw carbon 5.7kg bike for sale in NZ. Sub 8k in local currency! Too small for me but some crazy deals out there!!
@ heavy. I did a gravel race on a MTB. Did the same power as my mate on a gravelbike. He went 2kph faster than me. Even with fast rolling tires and a fairly light mtb.
