I have a 2021 RS660, and it is surprising how many sportbike riders confuse it with the RSV4. Last week I had an RSV4 owner actually think it was an RSV4. When I tell people it is the RS660, most sportbike riders have never even heard of it - they didn't realize Aprilia made a lower cc bike. It has been bullet proof so far - no issues at all with 3,500 miles. Dillan is right about having a dealer close by though. That was a major consideration when buying - having a dealer within 30 miles.
yeah my local dealer is an hour and change + bridge toll which is making me a little hesitant for the bike but hey, gotta do what you gotta do

The black one looks exactly like rsv4, with a full system exhaust and bubble visor it'll be hard to distinguish between this bike and an actual rsv4

Lol. The RS660 was my beginner bike, and I am now it the market for a 200 hp liter bike. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love my RS660 and I'll probably keep it and turn it into a full track bike. It is slower than my project car though.
These guys only do highway pulls they don’t actually ride twisties or on a track where smaller displacement bikes in the right hands are weapons.
People that say 600cc bikes are weak are the ones which usually drive a R1 on the track and get smoked by a Ninja 400.

I'm considering selling my 1290r and switching to a Supersport for something different, but the lack of cruise control on most sport bikes is almost a deal breaker, especially for the more laid back highway trips. Didn't realize Aprilia's bikes had cruise control too, might be my next pick.

@Bakamatsuu well most suspensions are for 180 weight rider. And 200 is fine. Just a 160 rider will pull way harder than with a 200 rider. That’s almost 40 pounds. 140 rider even more

660 cc ss is more than enough power itl still outblase a 1200 cc cruiser while being half of their weight
Damn, hearing that feedback about how it's the perfect commuter & comparing wind on nakeds making me consider this as a partner for my CB650R
I was going to go CBR650r to get that inline 4. But in Australia Honda doesn't sell the full power bike. Only the LAMS version so thought fuck it go for the best instead. Defiantly a treat choice. I ride this 7 days a week and have loved all 8000km so far in the last 4 months.

About the quick shifter if the oil is old the shift lever gets stuck, harder to find neutral, and is pretty clunky. In the service manual it says only shift above 4K rpm. Another thing if you have it in race mode the shifts become smoother and faster. I love the nuances tho having to perfect of a bike can get kinda boring having a platform to build is a different type of bond between man n machine.

Dammit. I've been eye ballin an rs660 for the past year. Doesn't matter what else I look at, I can't shake wanting that bike but dropping $17k CAN for a seasonal toy is a big cost.

Chick pulled up at work on a kawasaki zx14r bro on the ninja 300 looks at me and says dam I said I know she's on a bigger bike than both of us but at least we are riding and enjoying our selves I've had sports bikes and Cruiser bikes I have just as much fun on my Lil 88cc bike good on gas fun around town and back roads can ride just about anywhere
I bought a rs660 a month ago. I took a 12 yrar break from riding. It's an amazing machine. I'll be in the market for a liter bike sooner than later. I would suggest this bike 100% for a beginner bike and I'll keep mine for a long time

I have a tuano 660 and I love it but it’s not as fast as my GSXR 600 but I get alot of compliments and it’s much more comfortable to ride . I have the best of both worlds. Two bikes are better than one. Although shifting the Tuano is tough compared to my hair trigger Suzuki . I almost need a wooden shoe so I don’t get a callous.

I'm on a 2020 R6. I'm about to clock 24K miles(bought it new), looking for something new and keeping the R6. Thought about an R1 but just don't want to drop that kind of cash. I have it, but is the RS660 going to disappoint me if I'm coming off an R6 that's a daily?
It's not the same engine btw. The 660 is a twin as where the RSV4 is a V4

Nothing girly or funny about the 660.. that is THE BEST Valued Middleweight you can buy. They left no stone untouched with that bike. But if you think all there is credible in the sport bike world are 1000s and up, you would totally miss the boat.Very cool machine without a doubt.💯‼️😉
That’s your opinion. The 660 is slow in comparison to true super sport 600’s. My 636 has 135 HP. A whole 35 more HP than a 660.
@William yea and your 636 does not come with the electronics package or Suspension features that are on that bike. It's not all about speed and I'll say again if you think that 1000s and above are all there is exciting about motorcycles, you clearly missed the boat. And quit letting these names fool you.. It might be a 660cc engine but its delivered thru a twin engine. Same thing for the R7 or did you think that was suppose to blow doors off something to. Those bikes are designed to have "FUN" which is intent is to the majority of the Motorycycle communtiy. People who do not want to or just dont ride 600cc supersport and above machines. This is coming from a fully uncorked Zx-14r /Brutale 800rr owner.

@William I gotcha, it's a "SPORT" bike , what you have is a "SUPER SPORT" All im saying is we who ride 600 Supersport and up are the minority in the world. The majority of motorcyclists don't want want to do break neck speed and have "OH shit" moments daily, so they get 250s and UP. Rs660s/R7s etc. compete in that market not 600RR's bikes designed to do to totally different things. Im saying as middle weight bike and seeing it in person their really is not a better value buy. They put alot of stuff into that bike ,you would have to do yourself out of pocket. I'd probably put the latest 636 under that because of the price. I'd say goin' up in power , the S1k is hands down the best value for what you get.

i commute a ton on my ninja 400 but want to upgrade to bigger bike. I am torn between this and the zx6r. i do like the idea of cruise for my hour trip a day. i don't think cruise is available on any other 600 class bike. what is your take on this vs the zx6r.

Turning in the street un-usable power of my GSXR 750 for the rs 660. Overall I can def appreciate a tool that is relevant against an irrelevant tool. Unfortunately most of us have been sold into buying something that will get us killed, our license revoked, and never used to its capacity.
I’m mean really, my last two bikes have been an R6 and gsxr 750 and I’ve never really been able to get my moneys worth. I can’t imagine a liter bike. What a waste of money. But you will always have Porsche and lambos that never do so much as break the speed limit. So to those owners and all other super bike owners, we all just a bunch of pretenders with these super sport bikes.
If you really about getting value for your money wake up and ride them super sports to 170 and 180 consistently on the streets lol
