Well, Japan has something similar .... you play Pachinko, you get tokens and you exchange those tokens in a seperate building for money. (I think I know that fact from the video "Japan's Biggest Gaming Obsession Explained | Pachinko", but I am not sure and don't want to rewatch the whole thing)
