Gisele was a beautiful and talented lady. She was a great singer and musician. She could do it all. I remember her from the Jack Benny show. She was a pretty good comedian too, and did well in keeping up with jack. And that's saying something.
I just watched a clip of Gisele on Beat the Clock from 1972 and seeing her here in 1986 she aged tremedously.... Still very gracious and every bit the professional but....WOW. Time really does take it's toll.
It's an interesting interview. Bob Crosby one day fat/one day skinny--crash dieting; always wondered about that, it was really noticeable. Dick Dale reminding that Lawrence Welk as a task master with constant rehearsals, no surprise there.. I always remember the Lennon Sisters leaving because Lawrence Welk did not want to pay them above Union Wages, when he himself must have been raking in the dough; he ended up being some sort of cheapskate.

Enjoyed this!!
There is also a Gisele MacKenzie interview with Merv Griffin where she talks about how she got started with Jack Benny.

She was about 59 or 60 in 1986.
Gisele battled cancer twice. She was a warrior, please be kind
please do your research before being so judgemental. She was sixty years old here, battled cancer twice, and was not in good health.
Violinist Andre Rieu smiles beautifully & looks like he is enjoying every moment.
Now I know where Martin Short got his Jiminy Glick character from.... Too spooky!!!
Absolutely. It's so obvious that Skip E. Lowe was his inspiration. Too funny!!!
Why were these two even paired together?
Did anyone enjoy her performance as Mrs. Chancellor on the Y&R? I think Bill Bell said that he would no longer replace Mrs. Chancellor after this.

Dick Dale comes off as a wallflower in this interview.
He wasn't asked many questions, that's for sure.
Good lord what a weird television show
Skip was one strange dude. He does everything a host shouldn't do.
They interact with, and interview each other, much better than he.
I have to sometimes wonder if he even took himself seriously. That he just does his shtick.
@@edfitz3765 The Jiminy Glick character by Marty Short was largely based on Skip's eccentricities.
@@timcarr6401 I know. And one of my favorites. Just wonder if skip e ever looked at himself and laughed.
Surf guitar not
Dick Dale??? Not the king of the surf guitar.
Kind of misleading!
