I'm reminding folks that it's ME Awareness month, the hashtag is #MissingMillions, often shortened to just #Missing, because when people get sick with ME they disappear from life in the outside world and all too often are forgotten.
(Posters up, manhunt, Ren went missing 💔)
Can't recommend watching the Chapters readings highly enough, and would love to see your reaction to watching them if you feel up to it. Some people think it shouldn't be reacted to but Ren put it out to raise awareness about ME etc and reactions help the spread of awareness & concern & empathy.
He also put it out on RUclips, not Patreon, and RUclips is where he is indelibly intertwined with the reaction community. It doesn't make sense that he wouldn't be OK with reactors picking the videos up.
And yeah, this song makes me extremely emotional. It hits so hard, even if my disability doesn't leave me in pain. I still came up against having to decide to choose life at one point, and after that, 19 years ago, I had Hope tattooed on my back.
I hope Ren's impact on folks with profound chronic illnesses leaves as many as possible with more hope than they had before his music showed up in their lives. The captions at the bottom of the screen I think are the ones that could break through to the especially hopeless/most vulnerable, are the words "dare to dream."
It robs you of your dreams, to be so sick and to feel so hopeless and lost. It can be hard to find your way to dreaming again after your illness has robbed you of everything... but it's dreams that will lead you back to hope.
Never stop dreaming.

@@michaelgoyettemusic I watched the chapters, after the first couple I wasn’t going to continue because I felt it was him just putting out a personal diary for his own therapy, and if that was the case I didn’t want to just be a voyeur, we already get to share his story thru his music…. but after days going by and seeing channels like Hex (Hexenkind1) keep sharing them (the chapters) I did watch them and I am so so glad, this guy REN is so honest, so open, so willing to bare his soul which I think enables him to be empathetic to his fellow man, feel so blessed we have some talented but decent souls out there…… I think it’s poignant in “Troubles” you see him with a jacket with “Hollywood spat me out” on it

Yo .Trouble So Hard is a song from Vera Hall in the 1920s. Ren loves the song and identifies with it, so he paid for the copyright to sample it in Troubles.

The Chapters are on YT under RenMakesStuff. I suggest perhaps setting up for a reaction but , as much as Ren pours out into his music, these are more personal. He begins by setting up some boundaries because they contain stories that include familiar names- but they ( the people who aren’t named) aren’t up for public consumption. They weren’t easy to listen to or watch. When REN cries, we cry. When REN is being his naughty self we revel in it. And when he is laughing, well, we laugh… through tears because we Renegades have claimed him as our brother/ son/ friend/ family.
I think that , like the ending of Su*cide and then For Joe ( along with the fundraiser and trip home) some resolution/ acceptance/ closure was needed for Ren to move beyond the time when everything was “ unknown “ . He has said that he may be relocating to the States sometime around July when his treatment course is over. He knows that there are some things that may never be “ normal “ and he anticipates trips to the clinic for things to be regulated

There is mixed opinions about reacting to his chapters. Some reactors won’t out of respect because it is so personal but I think that if the reactor showed understanding and respect that this is his life that Ren would welcome the reaction. It was difficult for him to put his life story out there. He did it to be heard so others dealing with M.E or any suffering that has been unanswered could be heard. The reactions help to get his story out, just like reactions to his music.

I almost didn't recognize you! You look all dignified 😎 Lord, I forgive you is my favorite part just because all his other songs were him cursing his maker. As for Ren's Chapters, I'd watch them if you react to them. You may have less views than normal, though. I've seen posts on RRHF page on Facebook that most don't want to watch reactions to them. I've watched some. And will definitely watch if it's you! You need to watch them regardless. He could be an author. And his story is important. Love ya, Mike. Yoooo

chapters worth watching the song refers to some of the events he brings up .
Ren is bringing hope to those who are missing and rejected by the medical community💞Thank you Ren 💞 What an inspiration Never give up 👍👍There is hope 👌 The writing is so deep to be able to put his life into little over 3 minutes. I would definitely go back and hear the chapters.😉 As someone that took 13 years to get diagnosed correctly I can relate to him talking about the chapters of his life, then accepting it, moving on to get better and help others along the way 👍

Ren fought through his illness from 19 - 26 until he finally got the stem cell treatment so he didn't start building his career until almost 27. Ren just turned 34 not long ago but that big smile, baby face & improved health is giving him a new lease on life & hopefully a long successful career. Great reaction, as always my friend. 👍
Not having a path leaves the pendulum hanging almost completely still. There’s no bright light, no inky darkness … just a uniform grayness. It’s a liminal place that seems utterly endless. Having a path to healing is definitely a blessing.

Yo Mike! As always, great reaction, and another phenomenal track from Ren. It definitely made me emotional, too. I saw mention that Ren said this was the the real finisher of the Sick Boi album, and it did feel like that to me, especially with the last verse and the written message at the end. He certainly never disappoints.

I played in Calgary a lot back in the day.
The food was pretty generic…..but consistent …which is why we’d go there in new cities.
Just found your channel, new sub. I'm alive 😉, and yes - I tear up every time I watch this video! I'll echo what others have said: I think Ren would want people to react to the Chapters, since his goals is to raise awareness about ME.
Yo Mike… great reaction!! You should consider watching his ‘story’ of which he released a ~20 min vid daily for 8 days prior to this song dropping. The song seems to be a condensed, beautiful summary of the ‘story’. I believe this is a wrap to his ‘medical music’ era.. and he’s moving on to some different avenues. I just noticed as I was watching this (for the umpteenth time).. that right at the end he has on his ‘sick-boi’ sweatshirt as he’s telling God that all is for Him to hold.. and then as Ren turns around again the back of the shirt is different - as tho he’s put that ‘shirt’ away now! He’s so amazing.. so incredibly happy to know that his health is better now - can’t wait to hear what he shares next!

Ren bought the copyright to this song sung by Vera Hall in the 1920s during slavery times called " troubles" and made the song his spin .he had always related to the song. I can imagine. A true masterpiece! Please now go back and listen on utube to 8 videos on utube where he read chapters broken dowm of his health situation over the years."missing" 12:28 Im glad he didnt give up.we all hope he recovers and soon. Btw folks please go buy the song and download it to get Ren hitting #1 again. Can find link on ren makes music. Of course I would be here to see this reaction... and I wanted to point out 3 moments of it:
1st @ 4:30 "F... Yeah!..."
2nd @ 6:05 "Damn!...."
3rd @ 7:23 The way you look at the camera after 2-3 sec., rationalizing the line he just said.
Being a fan of Ren, I've seen a lot of reactions and these 3 moments are also noteworthy.
But perhaps because you already have a few New Year's Eve over your shoulders (like me), your expressiveness, sincerity and truth conveyed in the reaction of these 3 moments, is indeed worthy of being closely looked at and re-looked at.

You can find the eight videos in which Ren tells his story on his RenMakesStuff channel: From the end of Joe over becoming ill, getting and losing the contract with Sony, via his odyssey through various diagnosis and treatments to becoming at least better after his stem cell treatment. Very personal and emotional videos.
Even if you thought you understood Ren's songs beforehand, you understand them even better afterwards and they become even more intense.
YO I think Ren would appreciate you reacting to his Chapters. They are to raise awareness and understanding about ME/CFS and each chapter ends with a piece of music.
Reacting to them wouldn't suit all reactors, but you seem to get it man. Awareness of ME/CFS and other conditions is so important. That's where research and treatments begin. So if think your reaction exposes just one new person to what this illness does, that’s a net benefit for the world.

As he lived through this hell, he really started to question his faith, up to the point of cursing out and denying his faith at all... But he now forgives him for allowing this to happen to him and as many will say "God works in mysterious ways" blah blah .. Ren lost his faith and now i believe he knows god was there and gave him that's strength to fight.. Gods cool with this.. Ren is here for a reason sent by this "GOD"
Phil's wife Susan here. Great to be here again giving you a Yo. Hearing the "God I forgive you" part helped me realise I still have not forgiven God for something that happened in my twenties. Everyday I see so much suffering online in the ME/CFS community. I am grateful that Ren is sharing his story like this to help them and me. For too long the world has been ignoring our cries for better help and support. I hope this song of Ren's changes that. Definitely check out the 8 chapters of Ren's story as it gives more depth to this song.

@@michaelgoyettemusic it’s hard to say. I watch a lot of Ren reactions but reactions to his chapters is something I personally don’t want to see. Others very much do want to see it. I definitely want to more people to become aware of his story though! I guess you could start the first one as a reaction and see how you feel about, then decide whether to post it and continue.

What kind of God puts us through so much suffering and pain? Relentless suffering. I guess it teaches us to value the small things and appreciate the smallest lights and signs to smile at throughout a day where we're lost in our heads.
Oh lord I forgive you - for the pain, for losing my friends to suicide, for the torture internally... embrace our own suffering and forgive whomever it may be, God?

Great reaction. As someone who was diagnosed with similar issues. I've been struggling from 14 to 49. Ren is 1 of the reasons I still hold out hope. But as far the medical community, feels like I'm just another lab rat to experiment on.

Like let people watch the chapter in their own time and more talk about how you were personally impacted by reading it. I think that would be interesting without intruding on Ren's words. I am sure whatever you decide will be done out of respect for Ren which is the important thing. I noticed when I first watched people reacting to Ren's music on You Tube there were very few comments about Chronic Illness even though this was what he was singing about. It has been a breath of fresh air to see this change and to gradually feel that I could share my own experience in the comments. There has been a bit of a taboo in society about being open about your health because many of us were influenced to push through ill health and not talk about it. The problem with this is many people have been harmed and neglected due to this. I think discussing chronic illness is helping break down the stigma that surrounds it.

I am somewhat conflicted about the chapters. They are personal; but, Ren made them public in order to bring awareness. The only way to have them seen by more people is through reactions since they are on Ren's second channel. Do do the reaction. Yo!

No I don't think it is appropriate to react to Ren's chapters. Watch them yes. They are so intimate and vulnerable. Most reactors have chosen not to do reactions to them, mostly out of respect for Ren. Anyone who watches Ch6 without tearing up probably has no heart. Take care sir. Kia kaha from NZ.
I respectfully disagree with that sentiment. There is only one reactor who stated that. Many don't have the time or inclination to react to this type of content. At the end of the day, it's up to you, Michael. One of Ren's purposes in posting his story was to spread awareness and hope to the missing. So the more eyes, the more it spreads. If he wanted it private he would have put it on his patreon.
@@sigally I never said he shouldn't, I said I didn't think it appropriate. There are no rules except for you tube content ones that are often out of whack. I simply believe it is a respect thing. And the reactors who have stated they will not post reactions to the Ren Chapters are not in the singular..

PLZ DON'T react to the chapter, IMO it's so personal to Ren that their is nothing to ''comment or react'' to, watch it for you. He put them on his regular channel and they are also on @RenmakesStuff
