Right? He’s closing in on 60, he looks fantastic, and he still looks like himself. I see so many people saying that celebrities will judged more harshly for signs of aging than they are for plastic surgery. In most cases I disagree. Keanu Reeves is a great example of “it’s not broken, so let’s not try to fix it.”

Totally agree. I think Keanu looks phenomenal and is still smoking hot, yet natural looking. It helps that he is a super kind human being. I am a big believer that kindness and that attitude prevent ageing in many ways.

He is also part Hawaiian which explains his youthful, gorgeous skin. My mother was Native American and looked twenty years younger than her actual age, I am now 65 and most people mistake me for late forties or early fifties, genetics play a key roll in how we age, just the luck of the draw.

There are individuals who are blessed by nature, born with beautiful structure (both face and body) and Keanu is certainly one of those. But it's the lifestyle choice that keeps Keanu youthful and nature. Aging is a natural process, but it isn't just a face, isn't it. In his 50s, he can still do almost all of his own stunts in action movies like John Wick that are physically demanding, and he pulls that off beautifully. THAT isn't something that plastic surgery will give you. It's a whole-person, mind and body and soul, that makes Keanu handsome in his own way that also stands the test of time.
To be honest, you can really see it in the latest JW movies, the fighting was quite bad and slow motion.
He was a handsome young man, a handsome middle aged man, and is still a handsome older gentleman.

Keanu Reeves is literally the definition of what it means to age gracefully. Period!
He's such a confident, moral, and kind man. He rides the bus or rides his motorcycle. He helps a lot of people and donates to charities. I couldn't see him majorly changing his face. Honestly, he needs the face he has to get the roles he does. Slightly rugged, but handsome. He looks fantastic just as he is for 60. He doesn't look fake.
He doesn't live in a modest apartment. There was just an article in a major news site about him. He lives in a $5 million home in the Hollywood Hills, I think they said. Still modest by A list actor standards, but definitely not an apartment.

I was shocked to see this because I have met him twice and I can honestly say I don't believe he's done anything. It's just not something he's interested in. He has beautiful eyes I don't believe they photograph well because in person, they are light amber and very gorgeous. His Hawaiin-Chinese heritage just ages well for someone close to 60. He is gracious and very much a gentleman but incredibly shy! He as totally at ease with himself but not with the attention. I do think he's aged better than Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt

100% agree. His Hawaiian Chinese heritage is a major factor here and naturally beautiful people still look beautiful no matter how old they get. I really doubt he had botox and fillers. Keanu isn't into the internet and phones so putting injectibles in his face is highly unlikely. He doesn't seem to have that kind of vanity.
I think so too!! I think that if anything, perhaps he let himself be influenced by his agents/whoever saying he should do X and Y to look younger, maaaaybe tried it once and then was like eh, not for me thank you. And that was that.

Brad has aged badly before he is a serious smoker. Brad is still handsome but I see the effect of smoking aka wrinkles around the eyes and cheeks

@@ant713m ..I met him briefly in 2000. He is a gentleman. One tip, if you ever meet him, just treat him and talk to him like a normal person, then he will respond to you well. People who go hysterical over him and swoon over him just embarrasses him, which will make him uncomfortable and shut down. He opens up to people who only treat him normal.

I'm a grown-up, in my 40s and I'd never act like a teenager, I've met famous ppl before, and for my career I'm a professional at senior level I work with people so I'm too mature to behave like a hysterical person. I guess you'd have no way of knowing who I am from RUclips. But I'm a reserved person naturally, and my culture isn't loud and screaming type.
I always had a bit of body dysmorphia. Now that I'm aging and look back at young photos of myself I appear much better looking that I viewed myself at the time. I had a similar facial shape and features of Keanu when he was young. It inspired me to start taking care of myself better and losing weight.
When your inner beauty shines through like it does with Keanu, you don’t need surgery to your face to look good. ❤

As someone who knows my own eyelid is going to descent gradually with time because of the amount of skin it has, it’s refreshing to see people who don’t alter it surgically (unless of course it’s affecting your sight)
My father had very heavy hooded eyelids and it did affect his vision. He eventually had surgery to open his eyes.
Yup. I’m 26 and I have so much eyelid skin I’m 10000% gonna need a blepharoplasty someday just to be able to see again lol. My eyelids already feel like they’re starting their gravity fall

I was born with a ptosis on one side and I have hooded eyes, so I fixed the ptosis but I kept my hood to match the other eye. I want to keep my natural look as long as possible because look what happened to Nina Dobrev.

When he was younger he did have some acne scarring. “My Own Private Idaho” used harsher lighting and revealed some of the pockmarks for dramatic effect. He’s aged incredibly gracefully, though I do think the beard is probably hiding a naturally softened jawline.
Yeah, men have that advantage. A beard will make them look more masculine when they're young, and younger when they're old because it hides the jowls. And nothing is more aging than jowls.
He' s got two huge vulcano craters on his right cheek. One near the TMJ, another close to the gonial angle. I *LOVE* the fact that he hasn' t filled them. 🖤
dam mar you're right. My beard hides my sagging jowls and the cheek creases under my nose. I'm very happy with it. It also extends my chin a bit as my jaw is shrinking.

Before watching the video i thought he probably hasn’t done much😄 Just watching JW4 and thinking he‘s almost 60 years old, really shows how healthy and fit he must be to do all these stunts and the stunt training itself. You’re definitely right, truly an icon!
I wouldn't be surprised if the minimal things he did have done were more about the lighting issues for filming than any vanity concerns. I'm sure the lighting director appreciates not having to deal with the shadows the hollows under the eyes create, etc.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that he has a very chill life, minimal public ''celebrity'' and social media exposure and by extention far less stress/anxiety, and has a hobby that he loves. His diet isn't the healthiest overall, but external appearances mean very little in that regard, there is no telling what is going on in terms of health. His voice has become raspy over time, so perhaps smoking or other factors.
Finally, someone who didn't destroy their face. I think he did just the right amount. He definitely looks older but more natural. I hope more follow suit.

Oh, these two are hilarious. Watch out for messages from them asking for money for things, as they pretend to be him. We all know about the fake accounts. Keanu is way too busy to leave thank yous on a plastic surgery critique video... Even though he's literally the nicest, most unproblematic guy on the planet. He would be nothing but kind to all these compliments, but sadly there's absolutely no way it's him.
Summary: I can see no difference. Keanu doesnt get old 😅 . He is natural and unique.
I think that there are a lot of folks in East Asia that age as well as Keanu, but not necessarily for genetic reasons. East Asians are into humility for one.

Keanu's always been so great-looking. And so he hasn't had much to "fix". Part of that is DNA, but as we all get older, weight, skincare, and nutrition play such a big role. Good for him.

The biggest change seems to be the natural maturation of his face from 25-30. I'm glad he's only had a few noninvasive things done. He still looks like the same lovely person.

This is even more of a reason to like Keanu Reeves. He's played some wonderful characters. It's a pleasure to go through the years hearing Keanu has had no major altercations. Also, great to hear that just taking concerned care of your skin can keep your skin youthful as you're getting older!

He has lovely youthful skin. helps that he works out and eats well. But he is a smoker and I've heard alcohol too. No shame in him having procedures, I'm sure he has. His appearance is his livelihood. He is incredibly handsome and aged very well. I like the scraggly gray beard.

@PeachyBeachBum I'm a strong believer that you can be poor and age gracefully. Don't do drugs, don't drink or smoke, and eat relatively healthy. Manage your stress as best as you can. Wear sunscreen, have a basic skincare routine. Sometimes it also really just boils down to genetics. 😂

@@nate2759 As far as I know, his mother is Caucasian (British) and his Dad is Hawaiian and Chinese.
He may have been pressured and offered some minor non invasive procedures for the film roles. I can imagine after some work he might have not personally liked the outcome and refrained from doing more. It is just my assumption. There are those who look at their flaws and will do anything to change them. And there are some of us that are so afraid to make alterations and any changes will make us feel so strange in our own skin.
@@alfrancis8 I'm not sure K would take a role that required him to have a procedure to remove a few lines in his forehead--make-up or a filter could take care of that. I'm also not sure about the legality of a studio "requiring" or even suggesting that for a part. If an actor is playing a part that requires prosthetics (like a Star Wars alien) that's different. About the only thing I can imagine Keanu doing is getting his teeth whitened every so often--lol.

Keanu Reeves is a smoker. He started smoking during the filming of 'Feeling Minnesota.' That film came out in 1996. So as of 2023 he has been smoking for about 27 years. Imagine how much younger he would look if he never picked up that nasty habit.

He may not indulge in a poor diet and alcohol, which can be just as damaging. Sure, smoking is bad for you and accelerates the aging process, but breathing in carcinogens by living in a built-up capital city has the same effects as a moderate smoker. Almost everything we eat, drink, and breathe nowadays is slowly killing us.
Does everyone look like that at sixty, he looks young for his age. It does not look like he has had that much plastic if any.
It might not have made that much of a difference. It's just genetics. So many Asian's like the Japanese still smoke heavily, and yet they retain youth well and live long.

People rarely notice their surroundings, yet if they do, they will never believe that someone who looks like a famous person on a bus is actually is a famous person. With lack of makeup or hairstyle, many female celebrities draw less attention by hiding in plain sight as opposed to a limo and an entourage of 20 personnel.
There is a particular beauty to natural aging in men. Although my husband has wrinkles, he still looks very handsome to me.
From what little one hears about KR, he is a good man, which is saying a lot in this industry. I feel like it's reflected in his face.
I don't think any of us have heard anything negative about Keanu which is almost unheard today...
ps: even other celebrities say he's a genuinely nice, down-to-earth guy.

It’s not fair, sometimes I think some men even look better as they age.
That’s because we’ve been conditioned to accept aging in men but not in women. Women who show their age can be beautiful too. I’m working hard to try and move past the attitudes ingrained by society. Aging shows a life lived and experience, those are valuable and deserve respect.
@@batacumba I agree, but I also think that the historical standards for beauty are generally at different ages for men and women. I think mature men grow into what is considered beautiful or handsome for them, and generally the standard of beauty for women is at a younger age. That doesn't bother me. It is what it is. I don't even color my hair, so I'm fine with aging the way my genes are set for me to age.
I think this would applicable to nearly all men if no men lost hair - it's really hair loss that makes most people look bad as they age more than anything else. Most older people who are blessed with good hair usually are the ones people say have aged gracefully. I would bet on that actually but not sure completely.

Keanu is an iconic personality and one of my all time favorites. We are the same age and I've grown up enjoying every one of his films. He has the gift of being mysterious and relatable at the same time. I could tell that he has not had significant surgical procedures done. His face is so natural and as handsome today as it was in the 1980's. Based on what I've read, he has dealt with more tragedy at a young age than most. I wish him peace and continued success. I grew up in Florida. Unlike my friends, I rarely went outside. I was a bookworm. I'm 52 now and have no wrinkles at all. My friends, and even my younger sisters, all look so much older than I am. People have asked me if my youngest sister is my mother!! I give credit to not going in the sun.

I've always had relatively good skin, I never did anything special except wash my face. I'm nearing 37, and I started noticing my skin's texture and tone had really deteriorated. I've picked up a salicylic acid regimen and started moisturizing, which has improved it. It's just crazy to me how I never used to think about this stuff and now I do and it's such a weird thing to be concerned with. I'm reminded of my mom buying every whateverol she could afford, it's so weird to be able to understand it from her perspective.
TL;DR - Millennials are starting to realize that ageism is real and we're about to have a tantrum over it
These videos help me to have more of a scientific and objective view of my changing features, because we're always reminded of the things that happen that are part of the normal aging process.

Keanu has been in a couple of motorcycle accidents. He's never had any "Botox and fillers" work done 🤪He just has so much hard-core physical exercise for his action films working out eight hours or more a day and eating healthy -- he's just in excellent shape, and he takes good care of his skin. Plus hello he's gonna have some syncing and wrinkles because he's almost 60 😛
