I use to work doing that & it's rare that the driver gets off...there were times when it would be 2 hanging in the back but once again it's rare...i believe it all depends on the route they put you on...

The International 7400 Pak-Mor Rear Loader is a nice little truck. The hopper system is small but holds a lot. I thought the McNeillus was king but this is awesome too.

No the city does not give them out. You have to buy them; a package of 10 bags costs $7.50. The money goes to the city. The city will not take your trash unless it's in those bags.

What a job, tossing yellow bags in the back of a white rear loader all morning, seems simple enough, at least the driver seems to get right up to the bigger piles for the offsider too. I like the PAYT concept, especially a bag based system - bin/cart lined streets are too tidy and ordinary =]

Guys are working hard, but little regard for safety. One slip and ...
Backing at speed with loader on riding step - scary. Loader holding backs while blade is curling. Shouldn’t be able to do that. Truck backing erratically towards loader and he isn’t even looking. No spotting for backing the truck. Loader has no safety shoes. Beacons aren’t switched or even working. Obviously double-siding and zig-zagging. Rules are in place for a reason. Make a good safety video. Hard working loader though.

I wonder what those bags cost. My area here in Canada has strict rules to. We are allowed to put out two bags or cans of garbage once every two weeks. Extra bag tags cost $2.50. We get weekly recycling and organics(food and pet waste) collection though, without a limit.
A bundle of 10 yellow bags is like 7 bucks
