Thanks, Ed, for taking us on a ride to your town. The drifts were cool especially the moose. The ending of the video was so beautiful between the sky and mountains in the background! God Bless. 🇺🇸
Wow. Thank you so much! I couldn’t get any closeups of the moose but that was for moose and myself safety. It’s funny about the ending drone shots, I shot even better footage the day before but someone forgot to hit the “record” button. The blues and pinks were stunning on that day.
Amazing video! Thank you . I could be imagining things but is there a helicopter or plane flying in front of the mountains at the end ? Also …… when do we get to see some of your marksmanship ? Or does RUclips not like that ?@@MountainMariner
@@vet8787Thank you for watching. I don’t see an aircraft in the ending scene. 🤷🏻♂️ And correct, YT does not like anything to do with that. But I’ll sneak some stuff in from time to time.
Good morning, Ed. I have to say, this is by far my favorite video seeing it as an old timer snowmachiner. A lot of people don't understand the exhilaration, someone gets from a long distance snowmachine ride in Wilderness areas. You would almost think when they built the bridge, they had snowmachines in mind, lol. That is a beautiful trail and glad people do the upkeep on it. I like how you gave the Moose the right of way, many snowmachiners wouldn't and would try to force the Moose to leave. I really hope to see more videos like this in the future. Thanks so much for sharing.
God bless you! I could never do this today. When young, I could. But just watching you drive to get supplies…my friend Anxiety showed up..Lol..she decided to stay with me in my 60’s and never left
Hey Ed thanks for the ride to town what a ruggedly beautifully trip. Crossing the bridge it looks like you would be rubbing the railing. The life you live to me is trully amazing. RESPECT
That adorable white Ermine would probably saw off my fingers if I tried to pet it but it was fun to watch it pop out under the deck for a bite of food. Thanks for another great video Ed 🙌
What a ride, that sure was a tight squeeze going over the bridge. When I was in Wasilla two years ago in March to visit my cousin, he has a two-story cabin and I went out on the top deck with my morning coffee, I was just leaning on the rail looking out and the next thing I knew there was movement on my right side, and I slowly turned my head, and a Moose was walking by his antlers went over the top railing. I could have reached out and touch one that is how close he was. Thank you. -Sharron.
Good morning, Ed! I bet you are glad to have the garden fencing up on the mountain. That's quite a ride round trip. I hope you had a good, hardy meal upon arrival at home. I sure do appreciate seeing the glories of Alaska via your channel. I miss my home state a lot! Enjoy your time home to the fullest. That view you have is outstanding! I love the lighting this time of year. Till next time be well, and thank you again for sharing pieces of you life with all of us.
Glad you got home safe and still daylight. The last time you crossed the slim bridge i didn’t pay attention to the bridge with the train tracks next to it. I was just looking ahead trying to keep my eyes straight ahead...like it was me the one crossing. 😂😂. Sorry, but that's how my brain works at times. At daylight is a different story. You are more aware of your surroundings, like you were doing. Thank you, Ed, for taking us along. Until your next video.
So glad to see you again. I have to say that the new snowmobile seems to run a lot quieter than the old one. As always stay safe and healthy. Praying that for you always.
In the 80’s there was talk of widening the walkway on the bridge….I see they’re still talking about it. 🤣😜 Had a claim on Clear Creek, traveled that trail many times. Great Videos, thanks for sharing.
Another amazing video. Being in Iowa, I find it fascinating that you dont have a car/truck at your property or road access. I also find it extraordinary that you fly into your home with all your supplies for the duration. The scenery is so beautiful to watch. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
What a wonderful ride. And you made it home before dark. You do Alaska proud with your videography. The scenery was just gorgeous and the ending drone footage was super. (I’m running out of adjectives!). Sad that you will head to work soon but we all understand. Thank you for making my Sunday.
Good afternoon Ed this video was perfect. I watched every second, nice ride and mountains to die for Wow. Thanks for taking us along be safe up there and stay warm.
Thank you very much for your wonderful videos. However, as I am deaf, I appreciate it much more when the subtitles appear. Today they are not there 😩 See you soon, take care
What a ride! I had a big sigh of relief when you got home and I was just watching it thinking about how it must have felt! That train bridge is scary tight! Thanks for taking us along!!!
Love your opening music and black tailed weasel. Another amazing ride! Love the music and drone footage at the end! Another very enjoyable video! Thanks again!
Fascinating! Nice editing! I can only imagine how difficult it must be to side hill!! Nice use of when to use the music and I also appreciate not editing out the sound of the snowmobile. Really like the 360 camera!!
I was going to use the JASA Productions music in this video but needed music with different durations. The old music isn’t going anywhere! Will be in future videos again.
Nice place, great location and plenty of snow = paradise! Pretty nice down there on the south side. Definitely need a skinny sled for the crossing for sure. And the traffic, rush hour. Tip one at the Fairview for me, say hello to Stubbs, I sure do miss winters up north.
Long time follower, but it's the first time commenting. Love the video so relaxing. Stay safe there, and God bless. I must admit I'm a little bit envious about your cabin and how isolated it is. In my opinion it is the best way these days, just staying away from everyone. Take care bud. Greetings from Edmonton Alberta 🇨🇦
Thanks! This is a great place to live in the current state of things worldwide. Civilization isn’t so civil anymore. Have a good day and come back to watch the next video!
Amazing episode, what a wicked ride. We have not had snow in a lot of years where I live and we could go on a long ride like that, I wish we did or maybe its time to retire and move to the Yukon. Thanks again for sharing a wonderful video, the more I watch the more inspired I get to make the life style change.
That new sled is a sure tracker. Across the bridge never veering at all. After that trip, a cup of hot coffee and a warm fire were on the agenda. Be safe.
Another fantastic trip ED! Thanks for taking us along as always and Im sure that Moose will come back to see you when the garden is growing well hoping for a snack lol. Then the fence trip will come full circle 😁
It’s a very long ride. Unfortunately I had some camera issues at my favorite spot on top of the big mountain. But some of that footage was in the last video.
Thanks for another interesting and thought provoking video. You know the world is closing in on you when you see a stop sign stuck in the middle of nowhere lol. I can see the utility of a RR Crossing sign but a stop sign seems a bit much. Besides the railroad, grocery and gas station what sustains the economy of the town? Is the name of the town Talkeetna? Keep the videos coming.
Great video Ed, I always wondered if you could get to town by another way. I saw in the ending what looked like a swing type of thing by your ATV shed - what was that for?
Dude, totally forgot to come back for this video. Ugh. You know how much I love that camera on the trails. It's so cool! Love that you show the different angles as well. I'd say riding in that trailer would be so much fun, but I think it would jar my bones to no end. 🤣 Keep meaning to ask, do you bring survival gear on these trips just in case the sled breaks down? Ok the glimpse under the fallen tree while you're still moving was so cool! I bet people can see now why you generally take a helicopter ride to town. 🤣🤣🤣
thats awesome how you live. thats how i want to live up in northern Maine its just the money aspect starting off is out of reach for me. how long does it take to get into town anyways?
Good morning we had the warmest winter ever I think we had too cold weeks I've never seen anything like it in my life. It's 50° and raining right now Winter was non-existent The bugs are going to be crazy this year
Dude the f****** bridge crossing. When you left at night you flew over that like a bat out of hell. There is no clearance and I bet the snow doesn't stay on there as long as it does on the ground.😱
Hey Ed your package was delivered Friday like I said it's nothing fantastic but one thing you wanted and one thing I wanted to give you. A couple questions do you carry a gun? You should. Secondly if I understand you correctly you can't go to town then in the summertime. Luckily that time frame is smaller compared to most of us I'm curious when you think the last snowpack that is viable for snowmobiles will be on the ground? Does it go away in April or May? Thanks for everything buddy. Shawn
April is usually the last month of good snowmachine snow. But that being said I’ve run up until June before but that is only on my cabin to lake trail which gets extremely packed solid with my back and forth travels. And yes I carry, always. Thanks for the gift, won’t see it until Wednesday though. 👍🏻

I always seem to pickup an Ermine buddy but only after offering them food. It’s good to have them around. They keep the voles and shrews away.

That’s for sure, this spot on the planet is very special.
So glad to see you again. I have to say that the new snowmobile seems to run a lot quieter than the old one.

The new black Summit is quieter than the old black Summit. And faster. Much faster. More capable in deep snow too. Thanks for watching!

The economy of Talkeetna is tourism mostly.
What is that cute white animal called? It sure is a long road to town but beautiful to see so thanks for taking us with on the ride!
That’s an Ermine. Cute, tiny but vicious.
@@MountainMariner I can believe its vicious- saw how it was attacking what looked like meat there. lol
Great video Ed, I always wondered if you could get to town by another way. I saw in the ending what looked like a swing type of thing by your ATV shed - what was that for?

Helicopter is the only way. My eggs would never make it otherwise. Plus the snowmachine route to town is a late November to early April route only.

Busy busy. Waiting for USCG to come onboard now for our annual inspections.
thats awesome how you live. thats how i want to live up in northern Maine its just the money aspect starting off is out of reach for me. how long does it take to get into town anyways?
It’s around 3 hours by snowmachine or 25 minutes by helicopter. Thanks for watching.
How many miles is it to town from your place you are out there in the woods 😊
It’s 28 miles one way. But that 28 miles takes 3 hours in good weather. If it’s all deep snow it could take 6 hours one way.
How do the atv's get over the bridge ? being only 45" on the tracks ?
If the ATV or snow machine is over 45” wide you won’t make the crossing.
Good morning we had the warmest winter ever I think we had too cold weeks I've never seen anything like it in my life.
It's 50° and raining right now Winter was non-existent The bugs are going to be crazy this year

Did you build the cabin or buy it? Was all the material coptered in?
The cabin was built already when I purchased it. Everything was flown out. By plane and helicopter.
my man!
But I forgot to add I wish your closed captions were working. I am a little hard of hearing, so it’s hard to understand what you’re saying sometimes.
