I discovered junk journaling. Great videos from Korea showing it. Now I’m using up my pens, paper and finding uses for stickers and pretty papers. It’s very relaxing and doesn’t require serious objectives.
I would love tô ser a video with the best supplies to do a trip scrapbook that I could use the fliers, maps and tickets I collect when I travel. I like the Idea of a binder to accomodate the pages but I love the double spreads in a book.
There’s an organization called Letters Against Isolation and you’re able to send letters to isolated/lonely seniors and brighten their day. It’s one way to use up stationary and make someone’s day a little happier.
Really? I've got to find that info. I signed up for two pen pal programs. One of them I only got one letter and the other we exchanged one letter and I never heard from her again so I quit writing after my third letter
It's very sneaky how you frame this video as how to use up the pens and paper all of us hoarders already have, and then feature super-cute sticky notes, notebooks, and pens which tempt us to buy more. Well played, JetPens.
lol..not so sneaky, you caught it, and you're spot on! Never expect a seller to teach you how to "have less" unless it's less of the other guy's stuff.
Repeat after me: I deserve to use my good stationary! Nothing is too precious or special to use! And remember, there are always new and wonderful products to buy. If you use what's in your stash, you make room for new things. 😊
Oof, that hits hard. That is definitely one of my problems, the “if I use it now I may not have it for the PERFECT project” mentality, and then even if the perfect project comes, it’s a “what if there’s a MORE PERFECT one coming up??” 😂
Thats a good healthy mindset to have! Used to hoard stickers as a child, nowadays I use stuff immediately, especially if I like it! It uplifts my mood tremendously.
Definitely this. This is true for other forms of collecting and/or hoarding too. For me, it's worry about ruining my stuff through accidents or inattention, or for stickers, finding something to stick them to that's worthwhile. My little generator is so plastered in stickers because I know I plan to keep it for a long time, heheh. I live an annoyingly fast-paced, active, rough-and-tumble life, and I know it's only a matter of time before I drop my Twsbi Eco, spill on my Jibun Techo, or get my Doughnut Macaroon rained and sweated on. I've already gotten my Maruman Mnemosyne 196 rained on when I left it in my bike bags!
Also just throwing this out there, that scrapbooking, journaling, and sketchbooks don't have to look neat, and you can follow all this advice very messily in ways that can still look good. Messy is its own style, so if yours isn't like the video that's okay and you're valid. Everyone has their own way of using stationary, especially hoarded stuff.
Everyone is valid. What a silly comment. That's like saying your existence is real and fine. I get it. You're trying to be complimentary and it comes off cringy.
It's YOUR fault that I have a stationery problem. You have the best stationery items and the best videos on how to use them! One of the recent notebooks I bought from you is exclusively for lists of movies and TV shows I watched and notes on the books I read for my book club. I kept a list on in an old Hobonichi and wrote down which streaming service I used so I could see which made the most sense to keep. With the extra savings, I can buy more stationery!
In my case, the reason why I have so many unused stationery, is because my country has this thing about giving free stationery for students every year, most of them I don't use because I already have better ones, so it just keeps accumulating... I'm never gonna reject free stuff though, if it's free then I'll take it! I mean, what if I need them one day? (That's what I tell myself but it never happens lol... Seriously tho... I just got 3 thicc notebooks and I already have so many... What to do with them??)
@@shionlilac Give them to Goodwill, put it in the swap shop at the recycling center, or donate them each year when there's a drive for backpacks and school supplies. I hate those cheap ballpoint pens and inferior paper!
@@shionlilac Will the school take them back? Can you make emergency info booklets and keep one in your home near the door, one in the car, one to your POA of will? Market lists, scribble when mad, practice layouts for art and journaling, test paper for writing tools, homemade cards, pass on to a little kid with a candy (with parental permission).
Periodically I do an inventory and weed out the notebooks, stickers, pens and such that I bought and never used. I then give them to my teacher friends to give to their students as rewards. It apparently makes the kids super happy and motivated, and then I have more room to buy more stuff!
If the reason you don't use stationery is to "save it for important things" or think you'll waste things otherwise. My suggestion would be to decide to keep the notebooks after using them. Put it in an attic or something, so you know you can always go back and look at that beautiful washi tape that's no longer in circulation. Also having designated roles for pen and paper will take off some of the hesitation. Like A book and X pen for quotebook or to do list book or thought journal etc.
I ended up putting all of my old planner pages that were discbound into a binder in page protectors and in chronological order so that I can look through them whenever and reuse what's able to be reused, like the discs or covers. I put all the blank pages I didn't use together so I can use them as I find uses for them, and I saved my favorite month dividers so I have the artwork available to me to reuse as well :)
1) Make note cards with paper, washi, stamps and stickers. Larger paper sheets can be made into envelopes for the cards. Use or package with a pen as gifts. 2) I have baskets or other small containers throughout house with pens, sticky pads or note pads and scissors so that I can jot things down wherever I am. 3) Keep a notebook and pen in your travel bag for recording trip experiences, and same in car glove compartment. 4) I make mini art kits with sketchbook or heavier weight paper note books (or cut larger paper into 4x5” pieces and use binder clip), pens, colored pencils, eraser, markers and put in a small pouch. Great to toss in bag for travel or when waiting (like for medical appointments, etc) 5) for partially used notebooks or paper pads, cut unused sheets out of note book, then trim down to index card size pieces to use as scrap paper or shopping lists. 6) when my kids were in school I would write love notes and tuck in their lunch boxes 7) use sticky notes torn into strips as book marks 8) make a recipe notebook - my mom did this when she went back to work and I would prepare dinner from her instructions, these notebooks are treasured heirlooms!
Ahh I love this thanks for sharing will definitely be getting my mom a thick notebook ( she love trying new recipes from baking to cooking and drinks ) and she loses recipes do to not having a thick enough notebook. I love the mini art kit I think it a nice way to kill some time( and for kids to keep them busy .) either at a restaurant or waiting in the car . 😁
Some great ideas, thanks. When I left home I started a recipe book with the recipes I made at school and my favourites from Mum and Dad. Then when I found or was given a recipe I added it. 40 years on, it is full and a bit ragged but my husband and I still use it all the time. As a teacher, I remember children getting simple notes fro Mum in their lunch boxes - such beautiful smiles and joy! 😊
Some great ideas. I'd like to add, if you have kids or grandkids (old or young), write out a book with memories etc from your life or from when you were young, they don't even have to be special things. Just say one day a song reminds you of something that you did...a trip to the seaside, your first time at a night club, your first boy/girlfriend, how you met your best friend, etc. You can tie in things you've learned through your life, silly little things or important things, favourite food/drink/places, etc. But also you can have an important section for health things in the family too. We take for granted that we will be arounds to be able to pass things on, none of us like to consider out own mortality until something happens that forces us too. Or we assume that it's just things your kids/grandkids will never be interested in, but you never know what will bring you closer. Sadly, we never know when you might not be able to pass on that information: my grandmother died when I was still too young to be curious about things like her life during the war, or as a nurse; my mum had a health incident in her 50s and lost so much of her memories from when she was young, it was like someone just went in and plucked this and that out (she can't remember who gave her away at her wedding and anyone else who would have known has passed, my dad including), lots of information I was hoping she would fill me in on of family stuff and her life; and, now I have a friend diagnosed with cancer who has younger kids, afraid she won't be around to see them grow up.
A way I've been using up stationery recently is writing small encouraging notes and leaving them around when I'm out in public. Virtually any kind of paper and writing utensil will work, and the notes can just be a few words in length.
Several years ago, while I was grocery shopping, I saw a yellow sticky note on a box of hot cocoa. It read, "If you're feeling stressed, just remember to breathe." Very simple, but I had been going through a rough time during that period of my life, so the timing was kismet. I took a picture of the note with my phone, and left it there on the hot cocoa box for someone else to find. Still have the photo in my phone, to remind me that there are still thoughtful and kind people in this world.
I’m a book binder so I use my paper stash to create journals and then give them away. My favorite give away spot is any “free library” box I come across in my travels. I sometimes also add a pen or two and a note about the type of paper that is used in the journal. Then the recipient can decide what pens and other mediums to use.
Speaking of LFLs...apparently people get upset if you take an armful of books, especially if you don't put any in to replace them. I'm sorry, where does it say you can only take one, single, solitary book? Where does it say you have to take and replace at the same time? I've taken plenty and I've given plenty, almost never at the same time. But apparently I'm "greedy" for taking a bunch at once without simultaneously replacing them. So many people are so quick to jump to conclusions...
The Kanban board concept was a new one for me! I've been trying to get into journaling for about 5 years now and I've tried so many styles, which I couldn't maintain for more than a couple of months.. Hopefully Kanban board might work for my lifestyle.. Gonna try it asap!
Schools, particularly public schools, are always in need of supplies. I try to do at least an annual state of my stationery stash and things that I no longer find useful in the way that I plan will be donated.
I work at a university library. The "free pens!" cup I made helps us allocate our extras, especially when you start realizing that across the industry, especially with gel pens, certain greens, light blues, and magentas are the exact same. Out they go!
Also, a quote I like is “don’t scare yourself out of doing something for fun”. I have now 2 bullet journals about TV shows I watched, and I love making them even though I am not the most artistic person out there. But who care, it’s for fun and I enjoy doing it! So use your stationary for fun, it’d not wasted!
Don't be afraid of the PIF (Pay it forward). If you have multiple notebooks that you love, give an extra to a friend so they can try out the paper. [Same with inks, pens, etcetera. ] That why your friend can try something to see if it is right for them.
I really does have a lot of notebook and pens. I never thought of doing Kanban board but now this video sparked me to do it so that I will not easily forget about my tasks. Thanks~
The first few seconds of the video I was like "JetPens stop looking directly into my life and calling me, specifically, out for my stationery problem. I learned it from you!"
Ever since I was in grade school I would have to have a bag/case full of pens (all types and colors), markers (all colors and thin and broad lines). Calligraphy instructions and pens. Notebooks, sketch pads, rulers, erasers, pencils. 45 years later I still have to have all that and a kindle, light, readers.
Love the video with all the ideas! Copying down quotes can also be a great way to practice handwriting! I have a small notebook (A6) and have one quote per page. Later, when I have time, I'll pull quotes out of them to put into actual calligraphy projects. I also love the idea of sharing stationery with friends, though I tend to swap instead.
I’ve just started journaling properly and it’s been 11 days. I prefer writing one whole page per day of what happened word to word. I write a whole page as I like to write my problems happiness in paragraphs. It really helps a lot! Previously before started my current journal/blog I used to do scrap journaling at the very start for a few days n then I gave up I just thought it was a waste of my paper but everyone has their own opinions but this was mine! I tried bullet journaling but that seemed very excessive to me as I had to do a lot of work n I didn’t have the time to fill out everything everyday, so once I just stopped journaling for months. I started watching your videos of journaling tips n it encouraged me to journal but in a minimalist way n I tell you your videos have encouraged me so much that now my mom keeps telling my relatives that I spend some time of my day writing in my blog n everyone is proud! It’s like meditation but with a book n a pen. By the way your voice is very calming like heaven! ✨Love your videos!✨
I found out a dear longtime friend has gotten into fountain pens. We used to exchange letters, but that fizzled out. He sent me one a few we.... months ago, and in my reply I packaged up some papers from my collection, like Midori letter paper and some Kokuyo Campus pages. I even had some spare Blackwings, and this vintage micro fountain pen that looks like a purple cigarette. I hope we swap more exclusives from our local pen shops! At first I was a little odd about giving away some of my stash, but a great part about the hobby is letting other enthusiasts try new great products!
This is based on Toyota Production System (TPS) adopted by western as Lean System. I’ve worked in Japanese Automative Supplier back in my home country. I have imbibed the Japanese work system applicable to daily life like Kanban, Poke-Yoke and 5s System. Having functional and aesthetic stationery helps to enforce these habits and become productive.
Pen-paling is also a great way to use up your stationary. Sending memo samples and stickers to my pen pals is my way of lending my stationary to friends. Obviously for this to work you have to have a penpal, but it shouldn’t be too hard to find one. It’s nice exchanging letters and decorating the letter and envelope. It’s really fun, you just need time. ❤
I’ve been following you since forever. As much as I love hoarding stationery, I found these ideas fantastic, helpful, sensible and really helpful. I love you so much, guys!
When I worked, now retired, I would put ‘girlie’ or other distinctive Washi tape on my pens and pencils or the bound edge of glue bound notepads. I did this to discourage co-workers and customers from helping themselves to my things. If things did go missing they were much easier to identify. Worked great on my personal stapler. A co-worker from my end of the building saw another co-work from the other end of the building with my stapler. He told her to put it back. I use Washi tape to hold sticky notes and paint sample cards that I use as labels on end of shoeboxes that I keep my extensive paperback book collection in. I can write the author or the genre of the box contents on the label for easy identification. I keep a disc bound notebook to keep track of books. I dedicate a page or two to each author and write the book titles in order of publication or story timeline. I then mark each title with the format for each book as I read them Eg: paperback, hardcover, e-book (Nook, Kindle etc) or was it a library book that I read. I even give it a rating. Was it a good, okay or bad storyline and do I want to re-read it or did I donate it. Then when I go to the bookstore I put a reusable paper tag or one made from Washi tape on the page that has a title that I want to look for in the store.
I keep a commonplace book of my favorite quotes and song lyrics. It's a great way to use up stationary and to practice handwriting. Plus, if you decorate the pages, you can use up more supplies :)
I keep a journal for quotes I like. I also use the quotes to improve my handwriting. Also, varying the pens and inks used from quote to quote creates a pop of color on the page.
If you have a hobby that you want to do more of and maybe even turn into a side hustle you can use a journal to chart what you're making, how much time and materials it took etc.
I got a sticker book (the kind you fill with stickers that were popular in the 1980s and 1990s, from a Japanese subscription box a couple of years ago. I never got one as a kid (so many of my childhood stickers ended up on my bedroom door, lol). I like being able to keep favorite stickers and small bits of washi tape in the sticker book and then use the rest for crafts, letters, etc. Of course I still end up getting more stickers before I use them up but that’s another story, haha. I do wish that blank sticker books would be easier to find again. I do create collages in sketchbooks as well. Also, the Scotch brand wall tape is good for hanging up light items on a wall without ruining the wall. I use this tape for some holiday/seasonal decorations as well as adding small paper decor to my doll rooms.
Use pens in colour by number books, colouring in geometric/patterns/wallpaper books, spiroglyphic books, colouring books in general. Use papers for quick colour swatches too.
I hit Staples about 6 years ago when they had plain white Post-Its for $5, (instead of $11 regular price, or $15+ online). I cleaned out all 4 stores in my area. I mainly use them for swatches when I color.
Loved the advice! Especially the kanban. I actually use up my pens and have a going rotation because I'm a teacher. When I check my student's HW & notebooks, I usually try to use fun ink 💮. But, I still have so many notebooks, sticky notes, and washi tape lying around! I think I may start a rental system at my school, since my students sometimes forget their notebook or writing utensils. Also, for using washi tape and sticky notes, sometimes when I feel like something is too precious to use, I remind myself "You bought this to use, not to take space in a drawer." and that usually motivates me to part ways with it 😄
I've seen this kind of thing before, but yours is especially good!! And your con-board gave me an idea for another way to use up sticky notes. I was just working on my 3 month goals and projects list for the summer and I erased and re-wrote a lot. If I had used any of the hundreds of sticky notes I have around, I could have made the process easier and neater and prettier by covering mistakes or drafting the ideas on sticky notes before writing up the final list. Gonna re-watch this a couple times I think. THANKS!!!
The Kanban board idea is fantastic for students. Especially for revision and completing syllabus. The visibility might help to motivate you to get thing done as well as to see the progress.
Love the ideas in this video, especially the storyboarding idea --- I will have to try that one! :) Here are a few things I do when my stationary collection starts to outgrow its confines or reasonable uses: 1. Donate extra pens and pencils to my local library or school drive for students in need. I'm sure there are other local businesses, like soup kitchens or animal shelters, that also would be happy to accept stationary too. 2. Pick one pen, one pencil, and one or two highlighters and use them until they are completely used up. I've found this helps lessen the number of "half-used up" pens or highlighters in my pencil case, while also letting me discover and focus more on the refillable pens that I enjoy using. Eventually, I hope to reduce my collection to just my easily refillable pens (like my Pentel Energels and Tradios) and a handful of pencils. :) 3. Made a book review notebook. The way I use mine is this: Write down name, author, and a thumbs up, 'eh'-symbol, or thumbs down (you could definitely color code with highlighers, stickers, and washi tape too!), then write a short summary/review of your thoughts about the book. This layout could work for tv shows and movies too.
Giveaways are how I cull my collection. I choose what I want to pass along, wrap them collage-style with tape, sticky notes, stickers and markers (including the mailing boxes and envelopes), include homemade cards and mail/hand them off. These surprise packages are fun to do and well-received. I've made quite a few new stationery fiends with my giveaways. More customers for you, JetPens! The several college kids in my life get enough goodies to share with their friends. They do so much digitally, I didn't think they'd get excited about analog stationery care packages, but they love them.
1. Memo board. I could also use stickers instead of washi tape to hang memos/notes. (I was decluttering and gave most of my tapes to my nephews for their schoolwork) 2. I love the thumbnails on post it notes idea. I also use post its for planning layouts of rooms 3. Journaling is awesome. I wish i had more time to do it. 4. Drawing and doing note taking with pens is a good way to use them up. Covering mistakes with notes is cute. 5-6. Dream journaling (or any journaling: sketch a day, gratitude, bullet journal, quotes or scriptures) you can hang them too 7. Write notes for others. I used to make cards a lot for people with my scrapbooking supplies. 8. Sharing stationery is a great gift idea. Include it in gifts for graduates, married couples, etc. Use for wrapping/labeling gifts, too. Thank you so much!!!
I love the Kanban board idea a lot. I especially like the idea of the DONE column, where the notes moved there would be a nice visual of an accomplished task. But then I tried to make one and was reminded why I almost never touch the washi tape, it just doesn't stick well to much of anything. Sure, it's not bad in a journal, because when the book is closed the tape is kept in place... but on a wall, or on a paper on the wall, it pulls away as if gravity is increasing on it. Even many decorative sticky notes lack staying power. Back to using them for bookmarks. Sigh, so now it'll have to be in a journal.
Are you familiar w/the sheets & rolls of vinyls that craft stores sell? It’s made to be cut in die-cutting machines, but you also can cut strips of it by hand or w/a paper cutter, & adhere it to a surface. I made an “in-out” board using vinyl on a ~12 x 12” witeboard.
This exact thing has happened to me with both ideas so now I use a large notebook for some Kanban style needs. My boards are still traditional with pins and magnets but now I’m thinking I can use a sheet of paper with a washi frame and that can go in the board. Loosing a fallen sticky note from an important board is something I don’t want to experience again. Or loosing time trying to tape those long lines of washi straight.
I prefer the think of my predominantly vintage fountain pens as a collection instead of the hoard of reality. And I delusionally tell myself my growing number of bottles of ink (45 and counting) I can use in my lifetime. Vintage pens mostly because I love my vintage Esterbrook pens, and am working on an example of each model and color of Esterbrook from the standard 6 colors and 3 models of the "Dollar" through the CH. The only way I'd reduce the number I have would be if I sold some. Inks? Hmmm... I'm trying to see what modern counterparts there are to vintage inks. I discovered that, if you stop focusing on chasing the latest fad, even then it can be difficult to find a modern ink that plays nice with the variety of paper vintage inks worked well with. And special properties like super saturated, shimmer, chromashading? Not important to those I write with, in most cases, so standard inks for me.😉 Though I currently have enough royal blue ink to float an aircraft carrier because it was the easiest to get examples from most companies in vintage. Have yet to find one that is perfectly behaved with the super cheap quality school paper (generally better behaved writing on Charmin than Mead, in my experience😂) but still readable. Notebooks, journals? I have a couple that get used regularly. Not for journaling, but things I want to remember (my memory is like swiss cheese wrapped in Teflon. Full of holes, and nothing sticks to it.) And I keep enough paper for letters and greeting cards to tide me over until I need to get more. And generally enough stamps to last 2 months. (2 books. I write about 20 letters or cards a month on average.)
I use a lot of these ideas! The sketching and quotes are my most favorite because it is easy to maintain. Loved the other ideas and wish to start a reading journal this summer ♡ stationery is life 🫶
I always have that problem lol. I do try to donate when I can. I’m also a huge fan of making lists so that’s another good way to use up pens and paper.
These videos are great for so many reasons. I feel better that I'm not the only stationery addict and your ideas are terrific! The only down side is that I always see pens and paper in the video that I want to buy, haha!!!!! Thanks for the ideas and inspiration. I love JetPens!!!!!
If you know any teachers or students, maybe ask them if they would like anything from your unused hoard; I bet they'd love having cool stationery for school.
I discovered the other day a blank canvas, a prize I got in high school. Never used, still with the plastic wrap. Guess I'll have to find a way to use it now...
Someone I know once told me years ago that I have such a huge problem buying and hoarding stationery that I should have my mail forwarded to the usual huge stationery store that I frequented, and spent hours there all the time. Of course, I’m still hoarding a lot of that stationery right now, after all these years.
5 and 6 were good ideas, dreams are very unqiue and interesting to put into stories if your a writer or artist. Writing down quites gives one inspiration and wisdom, also make someone sound really smart 😂 Thats about it for me.
I have taken to start bible studying so seeing some other ladies decorating their bibles with sticky notes and stickers... just make me happy. Even a normal book like "The Martian," you could slap a few doodle post it pages in there. So when you reread your books, future you can have a giggle at what past you drew or a thought you had had.
I just returned from donating a box of colored pencils, brush pens, and markers to a local Nursing Home. The residents will love to make art in their activity sessions.
I'll go though my hoard of pens every few months and the ones I'm ready to part with go to work with me and get placed in the communal bucket, if they're still there in a week it's amazing.
The kanban board and the sticky note storyboard method seem practical. Now I just need rectangular sticky notes that are more accurate to the screen resolution than the square ones-
Instead of buying box for gifts I decorated shoe boxes with washi tapes. This way I used my washi tapes (and I stop buying them) and recycling shoe boxes.
I love the Kanban board and I don't have to buy a thing! Will definitely be trying that. But those round sticky notes in the sketchbook....MUST RESIST (or put on future wish list).
Boy did I need this right now👍😁♥️. Have been trying to get all mine together and figure out what to do with them just today so this came along at the right time for me. Thanks👍
one way i use my notebooks is to use them as a brain dump journal. instead of decorating it like a bullet journal, i dedicate certain bullet symbols to each category and write whatever and whenever i want, so essentially it's just a massive journal-sized bulleted list. absolutely no prep or structure, just start writing. the lack of structure really helps motivate me to write in it more, and i write everything from to-dos, things to look up, diary entries, art ideas, life notes, etc. when i'm doing homework or at work and my mind wanders off, i write the thought down in there too to look into when i have more time. i was also going to start using washi tape as page flags in it to mark important bullets to look back at later too, and ofc stickers and cute pens and highlighters can be used for it too.
I prefer to think I'm a collector, not a hoarder and I'm sticking to it. Now don't ask me the difference between a collector and a (very organised) hoarder.
Can I just get more storage for my stationeries? I used to write a lot - still have calloused fingers. Letters (I sent about 30 monthly), notes, song lyrics, even textbook translations. Back then, I had to be really selective because I was a full time student and couldn't indulge. Now? I don't just buy pens. I also stash the refills of the pens I love. Every colors. Triple or quadruple refills of the most used colors.
What do YOU do when your stationery collection is looking a little too big? Let us know in the comments!
I gift some to other people.

I kept a list on in an old Hobonichi and wrote down which streaming service I used so I could see which made the most sense to keep. With the extra savings, I can buy more stationery!
It is their fault!! Haha😅
@@shionlilac waww which country? I would love to take some free stationery
Periodically I do an inventory and weed out the notebooks, stickers, pens and such that I bought and never used. I then give them to my teacher friends to give to their students as rewards. It apparently makes the kids super happy and motivated, and then I have more room to buy more stuff!
That’s so cute! I’m sure somebody’s hoarded stationary can be a treasure to a school kid
Your students are so lucky
@@pinkpink7372 I wish they were my students so I could see the reactions, but sadly I just get the second hand "They loved them!!"
I do this as well! My daughter has a student that asks “does your mom have anything new” I think I’ve created a monster! 😂
Because right now you have a lot of money, it seems everything is easy to buy.
Thx for sharing ideas. I've made art out of washi and index tabs in past planners.
@@hawkeyescoffee6399 beautiful, and so true!thank you for sharing this!
@@RachelLWolfe What a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing with me!
You are an everyday hero and this should be celebrated. I might start doing this.
@@phoenix.recovery Oh, gosh, that's so kind of you to say. ='] It's something I continue to do regularly, and I still really do recommend it.
I’m a book binder so I use my paper stash to create journals and then give them away. My favorite give away spot is any “free library” box I come across in my travels. I sometimes also add a pen or two and a note about the type of paper that is used in the journal. Then the recipient can decide what pens and other mediums to use.
How did you get your job?
That's a great idea! I love little free libraries and anyone who puts things in them!
@@fairy7101 ? It isn’t a job. It’s a hobby. 🙋🏼♀️❤️😀🖋📖📚Some might say it’s a form of Guerrilla art. 🤷♀️
@@pendlera2959 same here! And I figure that many people who enjoy reading also like to write down their thoughts!
THE most relatable video on this whole platform
I wasn't aware I've been hoarding stationeries until I saw this video lmao. Thanks a bunch!
Don't be afraid of the PIF (Pay it forward). If you have multiple notebooks that you love, give an extra to a friend so they can try out the paper. [Same with inks, pens, etcetera. ]
That why your friend can try something to see if it is right for them.
I like the Kan ban board idea! I do have a problem. If you know a teacher or someone who homeschools your extras can really help them out.
Its easy to get rid of them. I just leave them on my desk at work. They disappear like magic
😅
😅
Also, varying the pens and inks used from quote to quote creates a pop of color on the page.
what neat handwriting you have!
Watching this video about using my ‘stash’.. wait, die cut sticky notes.. y’all are enablers though lol😅
THANKS!!!
I will never admit I needed this.
I do indeed have a problem, thanks!😊
I use one of my notebooks for recipes I find online. That way it saves me printer ink and printing paper.
The Kanban board idea is fantastic for students. Especially for revision and completing syllabus.
The visibility might help to motivate you to get thing done as well as to see the progress.
Okay...great, now I need round sticky notes! 😊 I love #4, using sticky notes to cover up mistakes, such a good idea.
4:04 this can also double as an "I JUST HAD THE BEST IDEA EVER but i dont want to get out of bed" journal c:
Love the ideas in this video, especially the storyboarding idea --- I will have to try that one! :) Here are a few things I do when my stationary collection starts to outgrow its confines or reasonable uses:
Those first few sentences had me E X P O S E D
1. Memo board. I could also use stickers instead of washi tape to hang memos/notes. (I was decluttering and gave most of my tapes to my nephews for their schoolwork)
2. I love the thumbnails on post it notes idea. I also use post its for planning layouts of rooms
3. Journaling is awesome. I wish i had more time to do it.
4. Drawing and doing note taking with pens is a good way to use them up. Covering mistakes with notes is cute.
5-6. Dream journaling (or any journaling: sketch a day, gratitude, bullet journal, quotes or scriptures) you can hang them too
7. Write notes for others. I used to make cards a lot for people with my scrapbooking supplies.
8. Sharing stationery is a great gift idea. Include it in gifts for graduates, married couples, etc. Use for wrapping/labeling gifts, too.
Thank you so much!!!
"If you're subscribed to our channel, you probably have a stationary problem"
Damn, calling me out like that.
Mostly you have to glue washi tape because it does not stick very well by itself.
I think you can do it without the washi tape border - just put up the post it notes by themselves! I put mine on a mini whiteboard
@@lorijsp8813Do sticky notes remain in those surfaces?
Try Mead’s Cambridge pads of paper (fromStaples and elsewhere). I find them rather fountain pen friendly.

Someone I know once told me years ago that I have such a huge problem buying and hoarding stationery that I should have my mail forwarded to the usual huge stationery store that I frequented, and spent hours there all the time. Of course, I’m still hoarding a lot of that stationery right now, after all these years.
I needed this video, this is the struggle I have 😂😢😅❤
5 and 6 were good ideas, dreams are very unqiue and interesting to put into stories if your a writer or artist. Writing down quites gives one inspiration and wisdom, also make someone sound really smart 😂

Love this handwriting! sooo satisfying to watch!
I love this video, will definitely do most of these. Excited to use my supplies!
Using a few things at a time and using them to completion helps me
I just returned from donating a box of colored pencils, brush pens, and markers to a local Nursing Home. The residents will love to make art in their activity sessions.
That's a brilliant idea
What a great idea!
I've been wondering what to do with my donate pile. Great suggestion.

I'll go though my hoard of pens every few months and the ones I'm ready to part with go to work with me and get placed in the communal bucket, if they're still there in a week it's amazing.
Also, can leave it at work for your coworkers to have and use.
I gifted my extra stationary to my sister and cousins for back to school. They loved them ❤️
The kanban board and the sticky note storyboard method seem practical.
I definitely have a “stationary “ problem 🫣
Saved this as ideas are brilliant ❤
Boy did I need this right now👍😁♥️. Have been trying to get all mine together and figure out what to do with them just today so this came along at the right time for me. Thanks👍
XD glad I'm not alone in my stationary addiction :')
Needed this! My pens are gathering dust, gotta make them feel needed lol.
You made me want to buy more washi tapes and sticky notes!!! 😂😂
one way i use my notebooks is to use them as a brain dump journal. instead of decorating it like a bullet journal, i dedicate certain bullet symbols to each category and write whatever and whenever i want, so essentially it's just a massive journal-sized bulleted list. absolutely no prep or structure, just start writing.
the lack of structure really helps motivate me to write in it more, and i write everything from to-dos, things to look up, diary entries, art ideas, life notes, etc. when i'm doing homework or at work and my mind wanders off, i write the thought down in there too to look into when i have more time.
i was also going to start using washi tape as page flags in it to mark important bullets to look back at later too, and ofc stickers and cute pens and highlighters can be used for it too.
Great- now I want to know what journals/planners were used in the video
This is exactly what I needed after organizing my notebook collection
If it wasn't for my friend sharing their extra pens and advice with me I wouldn't have gotten into Jetpens
Thanks - I needed this!
I have too many puzzle magazines as well as too many writing implements. Thankfully, these issues cancel each other out.
Where can I get crates like you have for your notebooks/memo pads? Beautiful aesthetic in this video!
Hi there! We get our supplies from IKEA and The Container Store.
I was just organizing all my stationary today and realized how much I had... then of course this video drops!
