So nice, Abbie! We need some 3/4 time. We’ve been getting our house ready for sale, packing up, and traveling to Massachusetts to look for a new home closer to our kids and grandkids. It’s been an exhausting couple of months, but our home received 2 really good offers yesterday. Now, we just have to find a new place, do the paperwork, unpack, make any changes to the new home…..Ack!!! It never ends. Yup. 3/4 time sounds pretty good. We miss you. Hope to see you again soon!
Beautiful playing Abbie. Sounds great from down here in Australia. I play dobro and lap steel and I've been really impressed with what you are posting. You really have the musicality, the emotion and the melodic phrasing oozing out of your playing (and vocals) in spades. As you know, there is so much more to playing these slide instruments than playing the notes from a TAB! I wonder if you might share sometime how you get this musicality, emotion and melodic phrasing in your playing of the dobro. This is something that most of the good teachers on RUclips seem to leave out. They play beautifully (eg Rob, Jerry, Troy, Joe) but seem to focus on the notes when giving their lessons and advice. Take care and keep picking. Mike
