Such a lifesaver to have your husband and daughter to help. You don't realize how hard the simple things are until you are very injured or recovering from surgery. TFS 👏🥰
My prayers are continiously with you. Keep positive. Do not give up. Take some rest though. Sleep is very important for the body to heal . God bless you.
My son broke his neck when he was in his early 20's. He had to wear that same brace. It does take awhile to heal. As it was beginning to heal he often thought he could do more than he should or just not wear the brace for awhile. I think having another person around is not just to "help you" but to help keep you accountable in following very important doctor's orders. My son was told that where the fracture was, if it broke another 1/8 inch, he would be permanently paralyzed or dead. In his case, it was from falling off of a bicycle. Take care of yourself and don't try to prove things too fast!
Oh my! When I helped a sick friend, I got her a loo support bar. It has support bars on both sides for assistance. You might look for that to make things even easier. I'm sure rx will help. There are several different models and price points. 💛🌻😊🌻💛
You have such a good attitude! Thanks to your daughter and husband for helping you. You're walking well, even though you may be in pain. God bless you and speed up the healing! Love you!
Hey Dawn. You're such a great example of learning to cope through difficult times. Just a suggestion but your husband could raise the couch up by putting bricks underneath the legs of the couch or you could double up the cushions on the couch to raise it up a tad. My dad struggled to sit on anything low due to his back and mobility issues. Thankfully yours are just temporary. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Thanks for sharing. xx
Dawn, Luckily my husband broke our toilet a few years back trying to reset it. When we bought a new one, we bought the higher (chair height) toilet. He didn't think it was necessary, but most new construction has that, so I insisted. A couple years later I needed both knees replaced, and because of circumstances had to have them done six weeks apart. After the first one I could get up off the toilet just fine, but six weeks is not enough time to recover between surgeries (I found out the hard way). Were it not for the high toilet, I don't know what I would have done. My point is that as we get older, things happen, and having a more modern high toilet is a god-send. Glad your husband bought you the riser, it's a good temporary solution. Take care, and get well.
I am wondering if you could find a piece of plywood and put it under the gray cushions to make it more firm. Or maybe something like an egg crate mattress, or a long vinyl cushion, or several. There has to be something to elevate and strengthen it.
Thank you for keeping us updated. I was so upset about your awful injury. They say attitude is a major part of healing, so I believe you will make it back 100%. Many people who have suffered a blow to their health will see you as an example. We send prayers, comfort and respect for you being such a tough ole gal. ( I can say that. I'm 2 years your senior.) ❤❤❤
Great attitude Dawn! Very good example to all who struggle with limits! Keeping hygiene, dressed, independent as much as possible. Wow, I don't think I would manage as well as you. I am very glad your hubby is so caring to you! Your daughter also! Yes, you are that much closer to being healed! Each day is that much closer! I know you know, just mothering you.......be careful when you use other arm not to over do and strain it! Slow and sure! Sure takes patience! Being in pain does make a person more tired, trying to cope. I do hope you rest often! And can actually sleep!🫖☕🛋
I am delighted to hear you report your steady progress. It is good of you to share how you accomplish basic daily living skills. I am inspired by your "can do" attitude but I knew you were a fighter. And, your family, if not for them, you would be in a rehab center. There are so many blessings. I look forward to hearing more of your journey. love and God's blessings to all of you.
Good job on writing down all medication you take . We often forget if we took or when especially when on medication and in pain. Retired nurse here and this is a practice I use . Each round of chemo I would make a new sheet for all the medication and shots needed . Shortly after I started chemo my husband was in horrible bike accident ( broken collar bone and back and hip and ribs) so I made a sheet for him also. Praise God all well now. Praying for you also and you look great.
Every time I see you on Facebook I thank God you’re “OK” (using the term loosely). I’m SO thankful you’re still with us and I continue to pray for your healing and for Al and Caroline to continue to have the energy and great ideas you need to help you heal and thrive. You are ALL such an inspiration to me. The love and support in your family is heartwarming. I noticed your memory for words seems like it’s better, and your speech is smooth and well paced. Much love, Dawn! 😊❤️🙏🏼
God bless you, dear lady, and may He provide complete healing. It's good that you are so positive, but please be sure to rest enough, as healing uses up lots of energy ❤️.
I’m so glad to see that you’re being able to adapt to get you through this. Really that’s one of the keys of life. Being able to adapt to life as things change And being accepting of it. May the Lord bless you and heal you quickly. Love you Mom 💕💕💕
Hi Dawn ,yes it's best you have someone there with you at all times 🙏 it's a long road of healing ,but it's great to make you comfortable when sitting down ❤ You are a strong positive lady but when your having pain don't suffer through it ! Please take care ,blessings your way 🙌Tfs hugs from Florida 💞🌴🌴
Hi Dawn, you have a very practical ‘Can-Do’ attitude which will stand you in great stead for making gradual positive progress. Are you able to make your sofa a little higher with another square seat pad/ foam pad? A tip - (you probably know this) -when you stand from sitting position. Pull your feet in slightly towards you, still flat on floor. It will help with the forward/upward momentum. You’re being well looked after by your family and friends. It was thoughtful of your friend to get the bigger shirts for you. You’re on a journey to recovery ❤️🩹
pain makes you exhausted. take the pills to rest and heal faster. Don't push it, it takes time to heal properly. you might be sorry for impatience.. Get well soon.
Dawn, you’re smart in not taking too much medicine. Everyday it’s a little step forward towards better health. Speaking from experience pain is hard to deal with. Take care! 🌷Sam 🇨🇦
Several years ago when I knew I was going to have a Mastectomy for breast cancer, I went to the Thrift store and bought about 7 blouses that buttoned or snapped down the front. I think I paid about $5.00 for all of them. That way I didn't have to lift my arms. It was such a help since I lived by myself. Also brought a few dishes and pots and skillets and kept them on the kitchen counter so I didn't have to bend to retrieve them. Glad you have Al and your daughter to help you.
Dawn, you're doing great!!! It's so good to see you making the needed adjustments so your day to day living works for you. And I think it's fabulous that you're sharing your life with us. You have a wonderful outlook and an excellent support system. Love you!!! 🐦💝🐦
Al and Caroline are so helpful. Your attitude is great. Very ingenious methods to accommodate your daily life. Are you still doing your demonstrations? Would a recliner that has the lift seat be more comfortable? You look wonderful even if you don't feel well. Take care and rest. Love to all, Linda 💕
10 years ago I was in a similar predicament… my mom would come over to help me wash my hair and bathe me. Yup. I was in my 40’s at the time. So glad she was there for me during the day when my husband was at work. And my daughter in law would come over 1-2 times a week to vacuum and dust and other household cleaning. So grateful !!! Also… lose sweat pants and lose button up shirts and baby wipes became my best friends 🤔😳😉
@@CentsibleLivingWithMoneyMom She’s been gone now 5 years. Miss her every day. But she was a gem to have with me after all my surgeries. She only lived 11 miles away. So, that was pretty convenient
Thank you for showing us your new day to day routine. Amazon sells shampoo caps. You just put in on, rub it around, take it of and your hair looks like you just washed it. I, too have an elevated toilet seat due to severe arthritis in my hip. They are so helpful. I am sorry you are having all that pain to deal with, it can be miserable.
Wow! You are such an inspiration to all your followers. Nothing slows you down. Thanks for staring your journey with us. Continuing to pray for you. Blessings!
You are the positive example I needed. You will blink and then all bones will be healed, all swelling/bruising will be gone, all injuries will be history. That's the way it was with me when I broke my wrist. (I know, your injuries are much more severe and serious than my broken wrist.)
WARNING! Please take NOTE! My niece at 36 had a motorcycle accident several years ago. The x-ray showed 3 fractures in her neck (among other injuries). She was sent home from hospital after 3 days with neck brace like yours. After being home for a couple of days and taking pain pills as directed…. She started to Violently Vomit and then she passed out and was not breathing when the ambulance got there. Long story short…they had NOT prescribed anti-nausea medication to her to go along with the pain meds. Pain meds often cause nausea and vomiting. When she vomited the jerking of her neck opened up 3 MORE small fractures that did NOT show up on the original x-ray. Enough to stop her from breathing. After being on life support, they ended up putting the neck brace on that had bars and screwed into her skull. She has recovered now but all this because they did *NOT *give her anti-nausea medication which the hospital said she should NEVER have been sent home without the first time! Who knew?
Thank god ! U are ok ! I am sure the healing must be somewhat difficult … I have to laugh though at the toilet seat … only because isn’t it the simple things we take for granted until something unforeseen like this happens ! So glad it helps your healing process Dawn ! U and your family are angels! U inspire even through adversity ! My prayers are with u as you recover 🙏🙏… peace and love to you and your beautiful loving family ❤️❤️
Hi Dawn! It sounds like you are in good hands with such a loving family and friends. The bruises all look so painful. :( You are a wonderfully positive person and this will help you to heal faster. All the best and thinking of you.

your husband and daughter are lifesavers to you!! 🥺🥺💕 i am glad that you are helping us out even though you are still in pain from the incident. feel better soon and hopefully you will be in good condition real soon 💕💕
Hi Dawn, I'm, that you are getting around the house 🏠. You are looking good 👍 😉.Just, don't rush and take your time. At, least you have AL, and your Daughter to help you out. Make, sure you take it easy, and Don't rush. Get plenty of rest and the Higher Toiletseat is a Must have. Since, I am 65 years old,and the old saying goes: The, older you get, and it takes longer to heal. Just, take your time, and take your medication 💊.
Unfortunately I can understand where you are. Almost 1 year ago unable to walk and had to have several major surgeries. In the hospital initially 8 days. I had to go to someone else's house after surgery for 5 weeks. Required daily wound care.. Then another home for 5 1/2 months. I was not aloud to live alone. It is an eye opening experience. You have a great attitude and your family is very supportive ❤😊 Keep up the good work!
You are handling this a lot better than most people would. Glad to see you able to move about. What a difficult period you are going through! Prayers headed your way. Are hard chairs, like dining chairs, easier to sit in than the cushioned ones? Thinking of those new recliners they make that actually lift you up out of the chair and how good that would be for you right now!
Dawn, glad to see you can get around some at least. Sorry you're in so much pain though. I'm glad to see that your husband got you the toilet seat riser but there is also a thing that goes over the toilet that has one or two handles to help you get up and down from the toilet, I don't know what it's called. It's similar to the walker that you have so you may not need that anyway. Good luck and God bless.
Hang in there, Dawn. You have an amazing attitude. Nine years ago, I had a neck fusion and had to wear that neck brace. That was very difficult for me. Hope you are able to sleep well because that is so important for healing. Still praying each day for you and your family. God Bless 🙏
Thank you for that! It requires a lot of thought and patience to heal and recover! You are doing very well and your spirit certainly helps! Love to you and your precious family! Aussie Lady
I’m so happy you have a fabulous family!! I have had a lot of medical over the past 20 years and my family is pretty darn great, as well!❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 NOTE 📝. If you EVER need to change out your toilet, get a raised toilet! I got a raised toilet before my first tip replacement! I can barely use a regular toilet anymore. I always go into the handicap stall because that’s where you find the raised toilets. 🚽
You are living proof of working through things. Continued prayers for a full and speedy recovery. May God bless you today and always. In case I forgot to tell you THANKS for the almost FIVE YEARS of continuous videos from you! ❤
You can install a safety handle in your bathroom and get showering chair. I suggest you stand a kitchen steady l chair next to your sofa where you can transfer your body weight or sit on it first and only than stand up with the walker. You could use a ironing board in your living room as your table etc. I hope it gets better soon. I also suggest you getting some front opening pyjamas, night dresses and wrap skirts or wrap dresses. Depending which movement gets lost of the pain. And there is a thing you can get for peeing while standing for women. It might save you lot of the struggle to sit down on toilet so many times in one day. It's small plastic thing so you can even use it in public toilets. The trick is to use the toilet for special needs or with changing room area. It means there is sink within the room so you can wash it dry it and put away in a privacy room
You're so strong Money Mom. I've had a fall accident and whiplash - it was much more mild but I can def understand where you are coming from. I wish you a full recovery. I think the amount of movement and determination you have is a great sign you will have a solid recovery. It's great you share things that are working such as that toilet seat. I would have appreciated one when I was injured - I didn't know it existed.
SO GLAD YOU ARE ALIVE!!! 🙏 it sounds very bad accident. And yes. You need someone with you to make sure you dont over do it and over tax the muscles and reinjure! Wish I was your neighbor. I would help. I'm up north in Minnesota but there in spirit! 🙏can you get like a large 6 or 8 inch foam piece from fabric store to firm and raise the one side of couch? Til you are fully healed🤔 💭
Dawn it's so good to see you in great spirits while healing. Your an inspiration to us all. Very grateful you have a good husband to help you out. Also your daughter with your showers. Keep up the good work. Blessings from Massachusetts.
It's a joy to see you up and moving around and feeling a little better already. I can see why the toilet seat would be a game-changer. It must be strange for such an independent person to always need someone with you. You're adjusting quickly though. I was taught that the brain can only register so much pain at a time. Often once one part of the body heals you'll begin to feel the pain from other areas. There's definitely no shame in taking painkillers of especially if it does help you sleep more. More sleep equals faster healing believe it or not
Thank you for updates, Dawn! I feel a little emotional that your sweet family is helping you so much. It’s not the easiest thing to be a caregiver. God’s blessing to all. 🌟💜🌟
So proud of you! You’re such an inspiration ! I just love your positive attitude ! God bless you & your family & you have my continued prayers for healing ❤️
It might help to have a walker turned backwards at the commode to help you stand. You wouldn't have to reach and pull yourself up. I was told to do it after a knee replacement. You can find them at thrift stores.
You really look great Dawn. Sounds like you’re healing nicely a day at a time. Whatever makes life easier! I use a shower bench and it’s been a GAME-CHANGER for me. I hope your Dr appointment went well.

You are so kind to say that
You are doing a great job with your attitude. Try to slow down some to allow your body to heal.
God Bless 🙏
Thank you dear
Thank you for that! It requires a lot of thought and patience to heal and recover! You are doing very well and your spirit certainly helps! Love to you and your precious family! Aussie Lady
I’m so happy you have a fabulous family!!
I have had a lot of medical over the past 20 years and my family is pretty darn great, as well!❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
NOTE 📝. If you EVER need to change out your toilet, get a raised toilet! I got a raised toilet before my first tip replacement! I can barely use a regular toilet anymore. I always go into the handicap stall because that’s where you find the raised toilets. 🚽
Thank goodness for family! Good to see you have the help you need. 🥰
Great video shout out to your husband and daughter taking good care of you money mom hope you are feeling better peace hope love faith
Sending love and prayers for you today ❤️ 🙏🏻
Hi! Ice an injury for the first 24 hours; then warm packs after that.

You are living proof of working through things. Continued prayers for a full and speedy recovery. May God bless you today and always. In case I forgot to tell you THANKS for the almost FIVE YEARS of continuous videos from you! ❤
Thank you dear
Hope you recover soon.
Thank you
You're so strong Money Mom.
That sounds so.painful
I am rocky on my feet and I didn't have a car wreck!! Lol. Glad you are the mend. Love you!!
You are doing SO well! God bless you xxx
So am i
Best wishes to you and yours 😊🐿
Dawn it's so good to see you in great spirits while healing. Your an inspiration to us all. Very grateful you have a good husband to help you out. Also your daughter with your showers. Keep up the good work. Blessings from Massachusetts.
Than you
It's a joy to see you up and moving around and feeling a little better already.
You are so right
I am a lot to handle
You will never be alone as we’re always with you at ❤️
you are an inspiration sending prayers for healing
So proud of you! You’re such an inspiration ! I just love your positive attitude ! God bless you & your family & you have my continued prayers for healing ❤️
It might help to have a walker turned backwards at the commode to help you stand. You wouldn't have to reach and pull yourself up. I was told to do it after a knee replacement. You can find them at thrift stores.
Hang in there, seems forever but you have a good attitude. Know it is hard on ya but take it a day at a time. You will get through this.
Love you, Money Mom! ❤😙❤
I can definitely appreciate your mobility issues.
So.proud of you and you're awesome attitude 😊😊 So happy you are healing and getting stronger. Continued prayers 🙏❤🙏

You really look great Dawn. Sounds like you’re healing nicely a day at a time. Whatever makes life easier! I use a shower bench and it’s been a GAME-CHANGER for me. I hope your Dr appointment went well.
