I still see red strokes when i pair the text with shape. it animates only red strokes but the text stays the same

You are probably using the track matte option wrong. Please watch the tutorial carefully

When I select the PEN tool to draw the lines on the words, I don't have the Fill and Stroke, just the lines to manipulate, frustrating, in the forum they say its because I had the solid select which is not true and options still don't show for me. Sad.
