    man, most of us seasoned editors already know most of the things in after effects from using expressions to making great motion design but damn, you are breaking 4th wall, we did our 3d work in tidious blender and may and you says that we can do all those things in after effect, without losing color science and software, these things can be done in after effects, no way, amazing. thank you

      it's just a recent feature in after effects though.
      It came just recently. For years, we had to use Blender or Cinema 4d

      Thanks! Sure! Forgot to mention it in the video! Just lower the opacity value.. give it something like 75% opacity and you're done 🙂

      This is actually a simple set up, where all the discs are linked/ parented to a null layer that is positioned in the middle of the compositions. Then the Null Layer is simply rotated and it rotates all the discs with it.

      yes, you can use something like an overlay blend mode or screen.

      Hi, thank you for your comment :) Glad this was helpful! :) This is just a simple parenting to a null layer in the middle. Similar to what I have done at the start fo the video with the 2 circles, but in that case I linked all the circles with a null layer, then I just animate that null layer's rotation.

      Thank you for your comment. This is using a displacement map technique, its a bit complex to explain over a comment, but maybe I will try to cover this in a future video.

    Is this result possible with image layers instead of shapes for example an Instagram logo?

      Yes Definitely. In that case you wouldn't be able to extrude (turn 3d) the images. Unless you change them to shape layers and then extrude those. But the bending effect is still possible.

      Thank you for your comment! That is actually a simple Ellipse in 3D, which when bended with this technique, creates that symbol. As for the glass material, I have just made a tutorial that explains how to create a glass material on objects, using the displacement effect.     There is no option to enable Advanced 3D in my after effects. I can choose only Classic 3D or Cinema 4D. Is there any way I can get Advanced 3D

      This option is only available from AE 2024. In that case you can choose Cinema 4D. It will give similar results 🙂

    2:34 In my pc I can't find advanced 3d option , there is only classic 3D and cinema 4D

      Hi, Advanced 3D is available from After Effects 2024 onwards. If you have an earlier version, you can use Cinema 4D, it has similar features.

      Thank you so much! Yes After Effects is all about super simple effects that when put together in the right way, they really provide powerful results. There are many mograph tools but when it comes to effects, AE is quite extraordinary.
