Story 2 I think Matt deserves to know and make an informed decision. Starting a marriage off with a lie, no matter how wonderful the relationship seems, is never a good idea
If I was being deceived in any way or there was something wrong with the person I was with like they did shady things to people I WOULD WANT TO KNOW!!! I have been through so much in relationships and wasted so many years and it has hurt my psyche deeply. Please tell the truth. It's what's right. Even if they get mad, they will either thank you later or realize the truth on their own.
Lying is pretty much the number one sins in relationships for me. That and abuse.
Facts! Kay is okay because she has no choice!
I’m a firm believer that simply telling the truth cannot make you the reason a relationship ended. If all I did was tell what YOU did it is NOT my fault. I hate when people try and pull the “but you’re ruining a relationship!” Card to convince people not to say something

I didn't get along with my older brother for 15 years - kids/early teens until our late 20s was pretty bad. Seeing two siblings so loving, close, respectful and supportive is just so wholesome and sweet. I wish Sam and Sophia the best from the bottom of my heart

You know wedding season is limited so yeah. It wouldn't have been that bad if it wasn't for the background information, so I guess there may be some ulterior motives.

Hairdresser here.. the stylist was absolutely unprofessional! Of course, that is if everything OP says is true.. there’s always 2 sides to every story. It seems to me that the stylist wanted to leave early or maybe she double booked herself. Or it is possible that she just has a nasty attitude. If the clients were there within the grace period, the stylists definitely should not have been so adamant about the late fee. If a client is telling you that you’re hurting them, why in the world would you not only excuse it but also continue to do so? I’m assuming she was trying to ensure that they would never return. I’ve never done locks, twists, sew ins, etc.. though I have sat and watched the process many times (I’ve always been fascinated by these braiders.. well good braiders anyway) I do understand that you do have to have a tight grip on the hair to be able to accomplish these styles. But if this kid is use to this style and has never had his hair pulled the way this stylist is pulling it, it sounds like she wasn’t very empathetic. I’ve been a stylist for 15 years.. I always tell new stylists to think of your client as if it were you sitting in that chair. How would you want to be treated? The golden rule is the best rule in my opinion. And it’s a sure fire way to build up and keep your clientele. I feel bad for OP.. unfortunately though, this is a common story. Way too common. My best advice when it comes to choosing a new stylist…
-definitely look at their social media posts to see their work. Look at their comments and their followers. Make sure they have posted pictures of the style your considering because it is possible that they may not have the experience to do whatever it is that you’re wanting done. This is helpful but shouldn’t be the only factor to consider.
-WORD OF MOUTH!! This one is actually important. If you’ve heard from several people who you know personally that actually go to this stylist and can vouch for them, that’s even more helpful.
-lastly, schedule a consultation with them (ask them to only schedule a consultation before wanting to commit to an appointment). Especially with a first appointment. Consultation is a MUST!! Pay attention to their personality, the suggestions they make, make sure they are listening to you, and if they make you feel confident about your future appointment. Don’t be too scared to ask them questions or tell them what you don’t want. We’re literally there to do a service for you. You’re paying us your hard earned money.. you should be able to get what you want.. if that is a possibility anyway.
If you feel comfortable and confident about booking an appointment, then do so. If you’re not sure, either talk to the stylist about why you’re unsure or find another stylist. Not sure if anyone even reads my comment lol but if you have, I hope this advice is helpful. Good luck!! Lol

S1: all of it feels like finding the best ways to hurt OP. Bringing up, unprompted mind you, not to mention marriage makes doing what she did even more hurtful. OP asking for space and then getting called an hr later to discuss plans feels like an extra jab. Planning a whole proposal and asking for OP to help feels extra and almost malicious, especially when OP has her own wedding coming up.

Third Story stylist usually have their own shop or the rent a chair or booth in a salon. A lot of them do not have a license or experience. Arguing about a late fee would have made me leave. I’m a woman so I can for the most part maintenance my own head but interlocking should be something anyone with locs should learn how to do. But he is young so I get it. And never have people with bad energy in your head. ❤

Honestly, my husband and I became friends over the span of 7 months, then we started dating in August, became engaged in November, and married in February. I got married at 20, and he was 27. We just celebrated our 10th anniversary, and we have only fallen in love more and more over the years. Lol, I have absolutely no regrets about getting married young and quickly. When you know, you know. Ultimately, love is a verb; it takes work, effort, and a lot of vulnerable communication.

Proposals do not have to be a surprise, and I certainly hope their is talk of getting engaged and what both parties want in terms of a proposal before it gets to that. You should know, absolutely, if your partner wants to be married and is ready for engagement before proposing. The surprise element may or may not work for one or both parties. No rules here except communicate, communicate, communicate.
