I don't want to be inside that green circle. Contrary to amraams the r27s can aswell kill the american pilot real quick. Glad not to be an american pilot.
TheRandomSqueak lol, independant radar seeker heads are significant, but are really post aim-7 for the u.s. mostly an amraam thing, although we had them on the later aim-54 phoenix mods(like the r model I used)just a couple years drag between east and west there, all newer eastern mods sure to have fire and forget capability
Its interesting that you have never heard about AAM models. They have the same shape, volume and mass as the real missiles, but no motor, fuel, warhead and so on... One of the reasons they are made is this video )
Yes I am. For one thing; An F-16 is just not an F-16. There's a huge difference between say a Block 40 and A Block 60i.... I suggest you look up F-16 MLU or F-16 CCIP. So, a F-16 has NEVER EVER shot down a Grippen in simulated exercises?
ok this is interesting never seen a Hud cockpit view before in real life .The su 27 1st varient confirm has better equipments onboard then the MiG 29 1st varient .
those look like a high quality vector display. I wish TV makers would have continued making vector display, rather than these HD uhd pixel displays that suck ass. Vector displays are like million times higher resolution.
You also cannot really tell if the target is in front of you and whether is it flying straight towards you or not. The arrow on the bottom left and the two circles in the HUD are behaving different than in DCS
New versions of the F-16 are pretty similar to the JAS 39.I am not familiar with the Gripen's "off-road" capabilities, but AFAIK, if need be, an F-16 can land on roads and fields as well.General flight preparations, however, definitely wouldn't be carried out outside of prepared areas for either type.As I said, since the Gripen doesn't offer that much compared to e.g. the F-16, it largely depends on the buyer, because if, for instance, the buyer already hasa fleet of F-16s the Gripen is unneeded
the gripen's actually nothing but a different version of the F-16.It's a plane made to do the exact same things, and shares many similarities. Each has its own pros and cons, so my opinion is that it's entirely up to the buyer to get what suits his budget, needs and infrastructure better.
The JAS-39 is so much more versatile. It has many off-combat advantages like the ability to land on dirt or on a road which is very bad conditions, meaning that it can be rearmed and refueled even outside airfields which is a huge advantage. Also it require fairly low maintenance and the avionics are extremely modern (at least on new versions). So overall the F-16 does the same as a JAS-39 in combat, but the JAS-39 has far better abilities in logistics.
are you playing with me? haha. Well gripen has about 15-20 years newer technologie in it. it is more expensive, and you receive a better airplane for the money? and Gripen always shoots down the f-16 in simulated exercises "RedFlag".
Well I know the difference between the blocks... not compared to how many times Gripen has shot down the f-16, And I should know beacuse my brother is an officer in the swedish air force, and he was on the latest international military exercises in Boden, Sweden. He said that f-16 had no chance against the gripen.
It's interesting how the Russians don't use an artificial horizon, but instead use a 3rd person view of their aircraft's wings & tail.
yes, attitude indicator
export ones like Indian and Malaysian Flankers still use pitch ladder and artificial horizon like western jets.
In Nav mode you get a pitch indicator.
The 2 horizontal lines to the left and right of the projected wings are your horizon...
2:10 ПР (PR) meant that the R-27R missile was ready to be launch at whoever who's in the green circle on that HUD. Would be fun if that happened... :)
I don't want to be inside that green circle. Contrary to amraams the r27s can aswell kill the american pilot real quick. Glad not to be an american pilot.
Barrack Obomba atleast an american pilot can fire and break off. Russians have to hold lock till contact unless it was an r-77

Yep, captive seeker head is used.

昔のロシア戦闘機は、一撃離脱主義だったのが、フランカーとフルクラムを主力になってから西側の空軍なみに、対戦闘機戦闘をやるようになった
ok this is interesting never seen a Hud cockpit view before in real life .The su 27 1st varient confirm has better equipments onboard then the MiG 29 1st varient .
это где происходило?
Aha ok - and why is that exactly?
those look like a high quality vector display. I wish TV makers would have continued making vector display, rather than these HD uhd pixel displays that suck ass. Vector displays are like million times higher resolution.
Y10Q what is a "vector display"?
+Amir Alavi An analog display that can show continuous elements, rather than using discrete pixels.
Am I the only one looking at the Rmax and NEZ of the R72R and thinking... holy shit thats terrible?
Yeah it is.
That's what you get with high-speed target at low altitude. AIM-7 and AIM-120 don't get much better there ;)
You also cannot really tell if the target is in front of you and whether is it flying straight towards you or not. The arrow on the bottom left and the two circles in the HUD are behaving different than in DCS
But yes, this is a rear-aspect chase.

niklas1995100. wouldn't think it would frankly, didn't do so hot against the mirage-2000
Eject! Eject! Your crappy turbine blades have just failed! The Chinese don't want them!
DCS world
Shayan Yadegari nop
And f-16 sucks compared to an jas 39 gripen.
Sucks compared to an F-16.
According to legends that Viper driver is still executing his 9 G gameplan to this day.
@@nyandyn Well, that's because the SU/Mig dead :)
