Custom Conferences are Back! Here's How We'll Use It | EA Sports College Football 25 News

- EA Sports College Football 25 is about a month away. And news has come out that custom conferences are back, from the former NCAA Football games. Today, we talk about how this can effect your school prestige and the possible recruits you can bring in.
On top of having the ability to move some schools, we plan to completely realign every conference. We are going region based, with a twist. Taking influence from international soccer leagues, we are adding relegation to college football. Power 5 and Group of 5 conferences partner up. Power 5 is our A league. Group of 5 is B league. Each team's win's and losses will dictate movement.
How else do we celebrate the return of EA Sports College Football 25, than going all out on our first Dynasty? Speaking of which, we will dive further into more College Football 25 Dynasty Mode throughout this week. There are some great additions we will discuss. Additionally, you can find hints on who my first College Football 25 Dynasty school will be, by checking the community tab on the channel for hits and see whose already been eliminated.

Realignment in the game is something I’ve been looking forward to the most, I was hoping to be able to create a conference (The Big East) but as long as I’m able to create a power 6 of 12 teams each using the AAC as the new big East, I’m fine
With EA purchasing rights to conferences, it makes sense why we can't end or create new ones. But the customization we do have will be great. Good luck on your Big American conference!
Thanks for the video. I used this conference realignment, but i did make a couple of small changes. Mainly having 12 teams in the upper conference and 15 in the lower. Also, I swapped c-usa and MAC. Thanks

I like how you are thinking on this. I am going to do something similar. Might use a preseason top 25 ranking as the way to move up. If the screens are similar to the old game they show the ranking when you are in the realignment screen on the corner of the logo. You are really screwing the recruiting of the B conferences if you do it that way though, lol. Every time they gain some legit teams you move them out.
Yes and no. Sure, a B league loses one of their best teams. But they will most likely also get a new team from an A league. So, name recognition and brand is still there for the B leagues. Plus, those are also the conferences that see the "lesser" recruits anyway. Especially with conference prestige and brand exposure
Is it true that when you change teams conferences their jersey patch and conference field logo will change to match what you’ve changed???
That is what I've heard, yes. We've come a long way since 2013 🤣

@@thered6496 Jerseys are suppose to change. There has been bugs with some team changes. But they are working on fixing it

That happens in FIFA since FIFA 17 if you promote or relegate a team in the euro leagues. It’s about time it hit a college game.
AWESOME.....Im a Big 10 guy so all them goddam Pacific coast teams can stay out west, but i ll add Notre Dame and Cincinnati making it a 16 team conference! Thnks for sharing this, im bout to go ham in big 10 country !!
Big 10 and Pac 12 play a complete different style game. Will be interesting to see the mix this year. But regional conferences just make way more sense. But glad you enjoyed the video. Bring home that Big 10 Championship!
I was testing out changing the conferences and when I loaded into the dynasty I noticed conference games started week 1 then non conference games ended the season it was flipped is there settings to change when conference games start like in 14?

It might just be the team you used. I didn't have that happen with mine. Double check their irl schedule and see of it matches
I had this happen with Oregon and rebuilding the old Pac-10. Very annoying.

Will the logo on the field update on jerseys in fields?
All conference logos should update with a conference change. There was an issue with it, but I believe EA patched it
Can I make changes when the season already started?
Conference changes can only take place in an offseason
what is the min. numbers of teams per conference? can we set pac to 0 teams
Good question. Haven't read anything on a minimum. I'd imagine no less than two. But that's a complete guess
I was hoping initially we could remove conferences. I would just have 7 super conferences. But if we can reduce to zero that would be great.
@@jonquis07 With EA purchasing rights for each conference, I don't see them allowing us to empty conferences. Also probably messes up the programming for playoffs. But who knows how the Pac 2 will stay irl. Heard they will either merge with Mountain West or add some lower level teams

MY QUESTION IS can we play 13 games instead of 12 for regular season??? Was a little confused on that if anyone can answer that it be awesome just a little confused...
Week 0 doesn't add an extra game to your schedule, but it does add an extra bye week. It's been something some teams have done here and there. But doesn't happen every year

@@nickfonte3511 If you mean extend a season, like how the NFL added week 18, there has been no information on that being added. Only thing is that week 0, that turns into an extra bye
Anyone else having issues with custom schedules not matching the new conference realignment? I recreated PAC-12 and I can not play against any PAC-12 teams and I lost my rivalry match…
I know EA said they put in all future game series. Just a hunch.. But maybe that is overriding schedules from conference changes

This is kinda like Georgia High School football. All the school's in Savannah and Augusta play more frequently but the cross town rivalries are garbage Kool aid at a grave site cookout

Kept them with the rest of the carolina's. Though, if a re-balance is needed at some point, teams can move around

It definitely has the ability to effect non-user rivalries. But, that's pretty realistic right now 🤣 At least, with our user's, we can change nonconference games. So, rivalries will be protected
I love the idea of relegation in sports. Will we actually be able to make this happen in this game? Meaning we can make conference changes in between seasons moving teams to other conferences?

EA need to release a patch that ensures all rivalry games are played and protected. Conference games should be limited to max 9 as a way to protect 3 out of conference games.

temple
where would these schools go
I put all military schools in independent. Ball state I put in the same conference as Indiana (for me, C-USA). And Temple I'd put in the same conferences as teams from pennsylvania
Can someone confirm that conferences can have 0 teams? Like can I take out the two PAC 12 teams and put them somewhere else without replacing them?
You cannot.
Don't quote me on it. But if I'm remembering correctly, it's minimum 2 teams and max of 20 per conference
@@bigbearb_gaming it’s minimum 4 teams but obviously there is an exception for the PAC12. However if you add teams to the PAC12 it won’t let you go back to 2. It has you use the 4 team minimum as well at that point.

Will Madden 25 have custom conferences too well as EA College Football in Franchise Mode?
I haven't heard anything on this being brought to Madden. There will be a teambuilder. But how that interacts with franchise and if we have to remove a team, I haven't heard
I’m having a issue with my conference I moved my team to big 12 and only getting 4 conference games and no rival games
Could be a bug. Check the conference rules and see if anything looks weird there. Only thing I could think would be too many protected rivalries or weord number of conference games per year

Why CU over SDSU or Fresno in Pac12, both those programs been much much better the last 10 years ?
Tried to keep most things as they were last year. But that can definitely change in a season or 2
I was going to do relagation and promotion through certain bowl games lowest ranked power 5 plays group of 5 conference champion in corresponding conferences. Winner take all.
That would be a fun way to do promotion/relegation! And something they could set up irl
Mac should have just been the Big Ten B and C USA should gave been the Big 12 B league
It make sense to do it that way with the teams currently in it. But the names made more sense with the switch. Could definitely have kept it though
Maryland just belongs in the ACC
I get that argument. They are definitely a team that could go between the two regions. But in this version of the ACC, they have too many teams. To equalize, Maryland went to the Big 10

They'd go ACC or American. Kind of a "on the bubble" type of team. So, whichever has fewer teams

As far as I'm aware, its more hardwired.They haven't said anything direct to that. Though, it would be great to see conference battles and records sway things

Can you add a new conference with team builder teams
You cannot create new or delete conferences. But feel free to add all teambuilder's to the Pac-12. As that is essentially a new conference. Also, teambuilder teams replace a real life time

Can't say 100%. But every past NCAA game allowed it year after year. So, 99.9%
I was planning to put my Teambuilder teams in C-USA, but because I want to have the Flex Protect model that the Big Ten has, I'm hoping if I put my Teambuilder teams in the Big Ten, that the conference will still use that model...any thoughts?
What's your goal of using the flex protect model? Cause with custom scheduling and the ability to change number of conference games per conference, you may be able to resemble that function, in C-USA
@@bigbearb_gaming I was originally wondering that. I basically want to assure that four of my Teambuilder teams play each other every year (like protected rivalries), so like how Iowa has three protected games every year in the Big Ten. It's possible that I won't have to put them in the Big Ten for this by doing nine conference games or something, but we'll see.
I'm also figuring there's a chance that the Flex Protect model will disappear if the Big Ten doesn't have any original teams left and it's all Teambuilder. We'll find out soon!
@@LandotheDrummer1 I'd say a safe bet, with the info currently released, would be to customize your schedule every year (conference rules if needed) and select the teams you want to play. That way, you aren't locked into a single conference

Do we get to change the conferences past the beginning or is it after it's set we can infuence changes, if we can I might do this but relegation is as simple as last place get replaced by confrence winner
Conferences can be edited each offseason

A thought of concern with the custom conference. I am too doing a lot of switching. Such as bringing back the PAC12 as I’m doing. HOWEVER based of the CFP format. In game and irl. The PAC12 only receives at large bid. So say your reformed PAC12 Oregon runs the table and finishes top overall team. Best they can get is a 5 seed in the CFP. NOW what I’m doing is that the reformed PAC12 I’m putting in my dynasty will be the newly formed Mountain West. And the current MW will move to the PAC12 so the “PAC12” teams in the MW can run the table or finish top 4 overall win that conference and earn a top 4 seed
That's a great point. Understandable why they'd do that. Considering, there's only 2 teams at the start. I'll need to check in on that/test it out
@@bigbearb_gaming I’ve been doing my custom ideas for hours the last 2 days to come up with how I wanna do it and it made me think of your video with rebuilding the PAC12. And realized that the best they would ever be in CFP in game would be a 5 seed and no higher no matter if they finish top 4. It’s the same situation as Notre Dame is in. They too can run the table but no better than a 5 seed in the CFP format.
