One thing I've had an idea for is to create a Europe style relegation system where the top 12 teams are moved into one conference, 13-24 in the next, and so one. Every year the top 3 in each conference are promoted, while the bottom 3 are Relegated
I like that too. I’ve seen where you make 5 power and 5 group and pair them up. And move them that way with the champ moving up and the worst team moving down
I've been doing this since I started a dynasty... re created all the original conferences, and every year, top team is promoted to higher rated conference, and any team with 2 or less wins I demote to lower conferences... Ps. Threw BMS in mountain west...
personally i have found it rlly fun to promote teams based on performance, say a go5 team has back to back elite years and makes the playoffs, then promote them. this happened with jax state and they became like 86 overall too w 3.5 stars so i moved them to acc as their program was on the up
I like that as well, these are more for people looking for more world building in the dynasty. Realignments rarely are based solely on merit like it should be
@@cswee123 oh i agree, i’m just saying like along with this plan you can always slightly adjust based on how the teams actually do which could make some cool storylines. in my dynasty the american has kinda become a middle man conference where it’s the best of the go5 teams and if you have a string of good years there a big conference will snag you up. teams like vandy and wake have been moved down to american due to poor performance and tulane and jax state both went up after winning playoff games on the back of 3 good years
I actually thought about that after I recorded my second version of this. I agree I need to but I hate stealing from the MWC and no one is coming back by then. More likely they join another league and or merge with the MWC than anything but we can’t do that sadly
I LOVED the high speed rail section, if i played this game more than the demo this is something i would enjoy doing. Very fun vid to think about. Hope someone digs this up in about 50 years.
I am gonna do a few more but I am glad you enjoyed this one! College Football is going to have a interesting next few years. I would love to see us get back to smaller regionally focused conferences but I do not think it will happen unfortunately.
Super cool idea! I'd love to see some older scenarios as well. I had a pretty fun time making the PAC 16 and the remnants of XII merging with thr remnants of the East that just got poached by the Big 10 and the ACC to try to compete with the PAC and the SEC still taking Mizzou and TAMU. Then deciding which new FBS teams since 2011 go to which conference and the CUSA becoming the premier group of 5 without the American ever forming out of the Big East.
I will do a handful more at least already have another wrote and recorded (more historical still need to edit). But I want to do a alternate starting point like “what if the big 12 never broke up” and something for the pac 16 as well. Tons of ways to go with this just gotta grind them out lol. Appreciate the interest!
I did regional and my power 5 requires 3 star and up. G5 requires 2 stars or more 1 star will get you sent to independents. Half star moves are based on available slots. You can move back to the G5 with a 1.5 star if there are too many 1 star schools.
Really appreciate it! I’ll keep them coming. Got a few in mind but not anything to paper yet but I’ll definitely start work after this one has started off so well!
I’m sorry but for 2030 having the Big10 add Northeast private Catholic school Boston College over Pitt makes no sense. I have no dog in the fight but Pitt fits the Big 10 way better as an AAU research university with a historic rivalry vs Penn State
You mean to tell me that the team that just beat the only undefeated team of 2023 doesn't deserve to be in the Big 10 in 6 years!?!? But in all honesty they were a big point of why I prefaced that you can change them with whoever. Predicting realignments is hardly a science
Penn state will fight to the death to keep Pitt out of the Big10. Just like Ohio state would fight to the death to keep cincy out of the big10. I would LOVE to see Kentucky move to the big10
I wish real college football FBS would do as follows Take the top 8 conferences and have 16 teams in each conference 128 teams. Currently there is 134. But I like the idea because there are currently 10 conferences. With the power 5 theres going to be a lot of bidding to try make it in to one of these. As I can see at least 4 teams becoming members of bigger as in Tulane, Boise State, Memphis and UNLV. But I believe these smaller conferences will implode on themselves anyways. I'd like to see them go ahead and combine and make it 8. Move the playoffs to a 16 team playoff. All 8 conference winner gains automatic bids. It's a fair shot for all conferences that take part it's win your conference and get in. After that the final 8 are determined by committee. I'd also like a co combine with FCS. The national champ of FCS IMO should get a bid into FBS yearly. With the last place team of FCS swapping with them yearly. It brings more money more chance breaks up the power alignment. Brings more money to the FCS gives them something to play for besides a lower tier natty
I like that as well. Only issue is when you include all sports. Football needs to be its own entity and should be allowed to maneuver however. Other sports should stay regional
Alright so the next steps; 1. Cincinnati, tired of the long travels to places like Kansas and Texas decides to join the AAC 2. Oregon and California governors threaten to pull funding from Oregon and USC and the two join the PAC 12 3. The AAC, wanting to be more of a power 6 league kicks out FAU, ECU, Charlotte and UAB and the other under matched group of 5 teams 4. The group of 5 teams decide to have a massive realignment between the MAC, CUSA, MWC and SBC 5. Arkansas joins the SEC, Oklahoma and Colorado go to the Big 12 6. Notre Dame has a ground breaking deal with the Big Ten that allows them to play a conference schedule AND all of their historic rivalries 7. The conference leaders decide only 12 teams per conference and to maintain a geographical input some conferences swap teams and in some cases demote them to help spare room and bring competitive balance to the leagues Delaware and Missouri State will also be involved as these two join the FBS soon and maybe to add on, the group of 5 teams form a new conference Oh and another thing to add; South Carolina, Florida and Georgia vote to kick out Miami, FSU and Clemson because with the ACC being mostly stable now they no longer want them there
I would leave them all the same. I don’t foresee anyone going back to divisions unless for a specific reason. Probably should have noted it but didn’t think about it
Idk if anyone else has had this issue but heads up if you move all the independent teams out the conference change screen gets glitched and you can't view some of them. Hopefully it's been fixed but I'm not positive

I left it at 8 since I was not sure about the ongoing issues with the scheduling bug. If that is fixed then I would do 10. You would be able to play everyone at least every other year.
I have a few in mind but the one I would probably do next would be if the pac16 formed in the early 2010s and how that would have effected us today and going forward
