    Sahaj...just saw your video. Don't ever use earbud for applying thermal paste. Nor did you use rubbing alcohol for cleaning precious thermal paste and cleaning the junk.. cotton in earbud leave traces & can cause air bubbles.. just an advice.

    @saswatmeher05 2 года назад +86

    Important things to keep with you if you want to change laptop's thermal paste-
    1. Thermal paste(obviously 😂)
    2. Proper screw driver set and pry tools
    3. Isopropyl alcohol
    4. Cotton buds, tissue paper or clean cloth
    And sahaj paji some back panel screws also support/helps holding the hinges, so keep those screws at least. In most of the laptops those are located at the top corners I believe.

    Oh my God, this video is so wrong. Thermal paste is only applied on CPU and GPU die, not the VRMs and VRAM chips, what you removed from vram chips were the thermal pads not the paste. This video is wrong on so many levels, and using a knife to remove screws?! Are you kidding me?

  • @dipanjanroy5469
    @dipanjanroy5469 2 года назад +74

    1.first of all you should remove the battery right after opening the laptop ( not later lol)
    2.then press the power button for 10 sec so that any power remaining is completely discharged otherwise you can short your motherboard.
    3. Never use any metal thing to open the battery connector use plastic pry tools otherwise your battery connector can be damaged.
    pls make sure to follow this steps in future. people generally ignore these steps and then go to service center with shorted mobo.
    I have used Noctua NT-H1, arctic MX-4 and cooler master mastergel pro.
    cooler master mastergel pro is the best thermal paste in the market in terms of performance and Value for money.
    Device - Asus TUF A15 GTX 1650 2020 model, the model which was trolled for it's higher temps.
    Now while gaming & rendering temps are hovering around 85 C to 90 C.
    Conclusion: Thermals system are more or less same everywhere , what matters is the quality of the Thermal paste.

    My strong advice for you - go to control panel and in advanced power management (you need to Google i little bit if your windows doesn't have it) and decrease your cpu freq to 3,3-3,5 ghz. Fps will be the same in most cases but temperature can raise down on 10-15 degrees. Or you can decrease your power limit to 99% percent, but i may cut your performance at all, so i dont recommend it.

    Thermal paste ko kabhi bhi hath se ya plastic plate se nahi phelana chahiye isse heat proper transfer nahi hoti.

    Thanks for showing how to put thermal paste. I heard elsewhere good idea to change every 3 years but factory thermal paste can lost upto 10 years. Was that a ASUS TUF A15 2021 (Ryzen 7 5800H - RTX 3060)? Some games sure can overheat, one important thing is to keep VSYNC ON (No VSYNC disable frame limit will give you more fps, but you get screen tear and HEAT).
    But if CPU and GPU stay below 85C it should be ok? Good to keep have cool down breaks while gaming, not constant.
    So in the end you got the CPU temp down by roughly 10C, good job.

    1. fins are made up of metal so it wont break that easily
    2. use 99.9 isopropyl alcohol for thermal paste removal, or any mobo cleaning activities
    3. rog series are treated with liquid metal so do not try to remove that heat sink unless you know what you're doing, any spillage will result in mobo damage cuz it's actual liquid metal.
    4. always try to make a perfect dot in perfect center of any cpu or gpu or vram unit.
    5. serial no. is mentioned in each screw so that you know which screw to tighten 1st and then 2nd.
    and many more.

    Use liquid metal instead of thermal paste, it is more effective. Because I am using it from last 4 & half months on my Asus Tuf A15 r5 4600h GTX 1650 16gb ram. Also I have used my laptop in bus travel for atleast 3 months i does not get any problem about spillage of liquid metal. (Yup I got verrrry small spillage on my cpu but due to proper CONFIRMAL coating my cpu is safe). (If you going to apply. Please do the SILICON CONFIRMAL COATING to the transistors around the cpu GPU)
    My laptop doesn't exceed beyond 81°C while valorant & doesn't exceed 90°C while using ANSYS software. (Highly Cpu demanding analysis software)
    Also the GPU temp does not exceed beyond 75°C while playing Valorant (medium settings) & Far Cry 4 (default settings)

    10:06 you risk slipping that screw driver and damaging that surface mounted component near the last (right) black ground cable. Don't do this. Instead, take a flat blade screw driver, buy the cheapest one you can find, seriously, cheap as cheap gets, then sharpen the end to make it as thin as possible. This tool, is now perfect for removing the plug by slowly levering the plug (from left to right, rocking it) using the metal guard of the motherboard. One tool, no danger of slipping and damaging the pins either or the smd components.
