- "Using knowledge gained from having real Dumble amplifiers in our shop, the Bombshell Overdrive is our iteration of the Overdrive Special; a three preamp tube, two channel amp equipped with preamp boost on both channels. Its cascaded gain-stage and excellent master volume allow flexibility with all volume levels and many different flavors of overdrive.
We designed this amp to be remarkably easy to dial in and be abundant with Dumble attributes. The Bombshell is harmonically rich and has the most beautiful cleans with a smooth high-gain overdrive just a click of the footswitch away. Most of our Bombshell amps have the Robben Ford style “High Plate Skyliner” preamp, but we are also fond of the “Low Plate Classic” preamp which lends more favoritism to single coil pickups. We are building them in 22w, 50w, and 100w in a custom powdercoated aluminum chassis, with choice of tolex and suede cabinetry."

That is the most comprehensive demonstrations of an amp that I have enjoyed on youtube. No talk...no BS...just play and adjust the settings. I was put off at first by the use of a pedal...I don't think you bring that in until you've shown what the amp can do on its own...THEN, after that's been covered, can you ask "so let's see what this will do with this or that pedal." Outstanding service, however, to the amp & guitar community, RJ. And the noodling around was superb.

@@RJRonquillo you make it sound like three grand worth of amp - As the Chet Atkins story goes, when someone said his guitar sounded great, he put it in the case and said, "How does it sound now?" I knew a guy in SF who had a Dumble and got the same crappy tone out of it that he got out of every other amp.
If it takes $4000 to get a decent drive out of an amp, I’m just going to plug into a 68 reverb and play clean the rest of my life. For real. I’m at my wits end. Feel like selling everything and starting over after a year of not playing.
Can I get a classic late 70's early 80's high gain NWOBHM tone out of this for playing stuff like Maiden?

I had one of the first Fuchs Overdrive Supreme amps ser. #041 and that was a awesome piece of equipment! In the clean and the OD channel musical overtones would just pop out the amp, and when you got it in a big hall where you could really open it up? OMG! I lost it in a divorce😢 and I’ve been trying to find that magical sound ever since. This amp sounds good but is missing that “it”, also with the Fuchs you didn’t need any drive pedals, boost pedals, nothing of the sort, all you needed was the OD section and that was it!

High praise indeed! Some of these commenters sound like they want to make sweet sweet love with RJ. I mean, MY GOD!! You guys are ridiculous. I personally came here just to watch a fucking DEMO OF THE AMP. For example, I would have liked to have heard more LEAD PLAYING (which in this 19 minute video totals about 10 seconds - little riffs mixed in amongst the chordal playing.) I'm not knocking his playing. Haters and trolls can suck my root. And, isn't this amp supposed to be a clone of the OVERDRIVE Special?!? Seemed like he was trying to keep it clean throughout, with the Gain never going above 4. These reviews are just about RJ's playing. Would somebody please do an actual demo of the amp?

Nice backing track
The tone of the low mids mixed with the low ends using the bridge is quite smooth. Me with my CAA PT100, SE100 and my Nextone Artist, I think I'm equipped till the day I die BUT the 22 watts is a tempting feature. I would let go my PT100 for this. Amazing

That was fantastic! I would love to see a shootout between the Amplified Nation and the new hand-wired VHT D-50H. I’m almost certain I know will win, but by what margin since one amp is four times the cost of the other...

I hate to use the phrase “Dumble Clone” but we all know that’s the goal of these amps . I feel Amplified Nation has the best amps out there with this special sound..their incredible amps 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I know Dumble amps are the domain of the super rich and that this in direct comparison is a steal. At three thousand and ninety nine dollars this is way outside of the amount of money I could ever dream of justifying to my family, regardless of how well it sounds.

@@Michaelgracon yes I think it's secret sauce. But their are affordable alternatives that cost no more than a fender reissue deluxe. The only catch is they are kits you have to build!!
