NPT PrepCom 2024 Side Event "Looking Beyond Nuclear Deterrence" (Voice Audio/音声のみ）

This event aims to explore viable alternative security to nuclear deterrence and the path towards a world without nuclear weapons. As security concerns may remain when transitioning to the goal, Hiroshima Prefecture and the Hiroshima Organization for Global Peace (HOPe), in partnership with SIPRI and RUSI, are working to envision a security system without reliance on nuclear weapons. In this event, we will share the analysis and findings of the research and exchange insights on moving beyond nuclear deterrence and discuss potential ways to make a change to this end.
