I started snowboarding with my brothers. Our dad took us one year back in the mid-to-late 90s. I think I was 10-12 years old then. He was a skier, so he pretty much said the same thing to us, "Here is your snowboard; figure it out," and we did, lol. We watched other snowboarders and asked them questions, "Hey, how did you do that?" We didn't have snowboard instructors, so you relied on the snowboard community back then. I'm 40 now and have been snowboarding ever since. My wife is on her second season this year. We plan to go this Christmas.
Can’t wait to start my first real season man! Last year I went twice just before the resorts shut down but it was insane just from my first day to my second how much I improved. Pumped to give it a go and take everything that you say in your videos to the slopes.
Good luck for this eason. If you really want to understand what you are doing and how to do it, check out Malcolm Moore's videos. A little less energetic, easy to understand and really spot on, in terms of improving your riding.👍
Just impulse bought the X4. But I was already in the market, it’s Black Friday sales, and my GoPro keeps quitting on me. Also how are you muting everything except your voice? Love the vids ❤
Love the videos, question for you, I’ve been basically doing what you’re saying, however I’ve noticed my turns are always skidded, am I maybe turning the shoulders too much?
You're supposed to be scared. Especially when you're learning. If not scared you're not moving lol. But in all honesty you have to gain more confidence in your ability. So do the falling leaf technique until you master going left, right, and stopping. Once you have that down, start pointing your nose down then stopping. And repeat that over and over and over again nose down, then stop. Feel your board. Feel how it responds when you use your ankles, hips, and shoulders. Finally, try to go as fast as possible and get scared. That's the fun part.
I’m 35 and this will be my 3rd season snowboarding and I still watch all these videos trying to get better and faster! Thanks for the tips!
That’s awesome, glad you’re still pushing and stoked to help.
Had no idea Bennett was RUclips famous! 😂. Amazing teacher! We spent the day with him learning and it was an amazing time!
You might find Malcolm Moore's chanel useful too.👍
same here, cheers.
Took these tips onto the hill today and my wife (her 7th day riding) made huge progress. Thanks for this!
Eyes Up!!! If you are looking at the ground, then that's where you're going.

You might want to try some of Malcolm Moore's carving videos. Not as energetic as Tommy but spot on in terms of content.
I get nervous when it starts to speed up going down, what can you recommend?
As soon as you start to feel scared, turn.

i’ll try it tomorrow. thanks!
Is it weird to be ok to skate regular but be more comfortable coming down the mountain goofy?
I've def heard a lot of snowboarders say that and its honestly such an advantage
