Thanks! I record parts separately because of differences in tone, the most notable case being transitions from clean parts to distortion parts. Recording different sections separately means I can focus more on getting the tone and the takes right and I don't have to record everything again if I mess up.
I used to do this, but now I automate the preset change with midi. When the change comes you just play the part and the transition is smooth. If you still don't like the transition you can correct it in post. You should try it. It works with Amplitube.
@@watchmakerfs yeah I know what you mean, I remember struggling because I didn't know how to do it haha, but now I do that mostly for turning effects on and off, but for more notable and strong changes like for example going from clean to distortion or a solo I prefer recording it separately
Right. I like to cover the whole song in one take, but If I can't play it right, I'll record like you. Anyway just wanted to let you know In case you didn't.
Awesome playing! This might be the first time where I don’t think the tone is 100% identical to Lerxst’s (sounds a little tinnier and lighter to me, especially the opening chords) but that Signature guitar sound is basically impossible to replicate so I’m sure you got as close as you could have possibly gotten. Anyway great work! I gotta upload another Rush cover 😬
Thanks man! And you're 100% correct, the guitar tones on presto are very hard to replicate because of many different factors, mainly the signature guitar you mentioned, I almost went crazy trying to get something similar to it haha.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
Never fail to impress brother. Keep them coming.
Thanks man!
Awesome cover! Great tones. Why do you record separate takes?
