Hi, Thank you Ben! You know, i'm not so far from the Basque country (I'm french)! Have fun with that beautifull board, I have such a big one in my quiver (a 43" custom made deck) And, That's really cool! Have fun with it!
That's so cool. I backpacked through there a long time ago before the internet and social media haha. Beautiful part of the world! I was so stoked to see 'Made in Basque Country' on the wheels. Thanks for sharing and watching!
Yeah cool board, my guess because is cork it’s gets gripper with sweat like a yoga mat, I’ll be waiting for first impression and maybe a comparison with the smoothstar
Yow has a great truck system but their boards are too flat, lack concave, and the tail area is too small for my taste. Smoothstar has a better rail feeling to it. Smoothstar turns with body weight. Yow has a more divy system so they turn a lot sharper and easier without bodyweight. Yow turns with ankle pressure. Both are great boards, both are great brands. You can't go wrong with either of them. I modified the hell out of my smoothstar to get it where I wanted it and the only thing that I think it's missing is a larger deck. I ride a Toledo 77 (34") and I'm 6ft tall. I followed the size chart on Smoothstar's website. I got my 12 year old son the same board and it's the perfect size for him but for me I would have liked something closer to the 38-40" range. The Mantraray is only 35.5". I'm looking forward to seeing you ride this simply because of the deck size. My only concern is the wheelbase seems really far apart. I personally would probably back that front truck back about 3-6 inches. If your foot starts sliding off, then I recommend vicious grip tape. But yeah, I'm looking forward to you riding it!
Thanks for sharing! Mentioned this in the video but I got this board to be something different than my Smoothstar so I specifically wanted the long wheel base and flat deck for a longboard feel. Gonna be mostly barefoot cruising, cross stepping and hopefully some nose riding on it. Regarding the size of the 34" Toledo relative to your height - check out @yewlayton He's 6'2"/ 6'3" and rips on that thing. In fact in his recent Toledo review video he says it's "perfect for him". Mentioning this because it's not necessarily a height/weight vs. board dims formula to find the right match. A lot of it depends on how you're skating the board too IE if you're just cruising and aren't pushing the board you don't really need all the performance or "vicious grip tape" haha. Thanks for watching!
I like your vibe and kind of thinking so much! Great video, thank you 🌞
Thank you very much! I respond in more detail to your comment on my 2-28-22 podcast episode, link in bio!
Aquaman and surfskating, yeah that makes sense.
😂
Cool man! This is on my radar as well. Definitely interested in seeing the follow-up video.

Coming soon, thanks for watching!
What a beautiful board!
It really is gorgeous...I don't want to ride it and mess it up haha
I wonder if the cork surface will be fragile? Only bare feet and no shoes. Don’t lie it upside down on asphalt, just on its side.
There's only one way to find out! Thanks for watching, more coming soon

I ride a Toledo 77. I am 5'9", so it suits me fine.
