    We tried making maple sugar but it just made a big gooey glob of toffee textured stuff. We tried twice and ended up with the same result. What did we do wrong?

    I would like to know what it the thermometer and indicator you use at 2:07

      earlier in the video he mentioned that he was using a thermocouple. The "thermometer" you see at 2:07 is basically the thermocouple controller/display. If you do a google search on the subject there's lots of information about different setups. I've purchased controllers and thermocouples through auber instruments. I'm sure you could find all kinds of pre-made "thermometers" made this way on eBay/amazon/etc.... good luck
