Can I know the flex cable name for MacBook 2016 15"? The link on the description is not working anymore. I'm from the Philippines and thank you for the video!
Hey Apple Pie Tech 😁 I had a Flexgate repair before some Days. And after the repair, the backlight was working! Well... but now a have some Stagelight effect. A had to repair both of the backlight cables. Do you had that issue in the Past, and wanna give me a little hint were to start with my troubleshooting? Greetings!!
I don't understand what you use for the new cable you are soldering on. If I see right, it goes face down onto the old cable. But if it is a copy of the original cable, it would be face up..
I used replacement backlight flex cable from aliexpress, cut to fit. Link is in description. It was soldered in the same orientation as the original cut-off part, with overlap for the strength.
@@applepietech Ah, it looks like your replacement cable is better than mine. I just tried with mine (also from AliExpress), and if I scrape the back of the cable and then try to tin it, it's impossible. There's no copper on the back of the cable (the side that looks flat, not the side where you can see the traces under the coating).
Fantastic work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks great work

Has to be redone. Maybe it wasn’t done properly in the first place

how much do you charge for this work
$250 for the customer, $200 for B2B
a client brought me one A1707 with the same problem (Y)
can't you just replace that cable instead of fixing it?
Significantly harder since the LCD has to be removed from the frame.
what is the price of such repair?
$150 plus shipping. Thank You!
