    Just hit mythic for the first time, couldn't have done it without these videos - thanks! In case anyone is curious I used the Boros Aggro list but I think Etali's Favor is a terrible card in this deck. I would also be interested in the plat to mythic data, no need to change the format of these videos but perhaps as bonus content?

    • @Arstall
      @Arstall  8 дней назад

      Congrats on the climb! Fwiw 430,000 of the 570,000 matches this week were plat+. I don't think there would be a huge change to exclude Gold and below

    There were three abuela’s omniscience decks at the RCQ I played in on Sunday. Way more of the field than I expected, so check your local meta if you are playing standard this season. Anyways, great video! I appreciate it.

    Great video.
    Here is my journey. The fastest deck to bring me to Mythic with nearly 70+% win rate was Rakdos Aggro but with combination of Burst Lightning and shocks. What i noticed trying the other Red decks is that if you dont win by turn 4, you are basically dead in most scenarios. Thats why Rakdos Aggro brings me the best results cuz half of the games it wins by turn 3 and 4.
    I think to try the goblins deck but with more interaction spells.

    • @Arstall
      @Arstall  10 дней назад

      You'll find the more interaction, the more nonlinear the strategy, you'll change your match ups. But it is always a fun journey

    • @Arstall
      @Arstall  10 дней назад +1

      Boros Auras isn't usually played in bo3 so I don't have much of a sideboard strategy for it. The only card that comes to mind is Destroy Evil but taking the controlling route seems like a bad idea to me. Perhaps Break the Spell and take out Shardmage's Rescue? Either way seems like a long shot. Hope that helps :)

    Sentinel in gruul seems great against esper cause nowhere to run and witch's vanity doesnt work for it. Good vs dimir but they bring in more preacher and sheoldred in sb so might less impact than esper. Could also be nice vs mirror or vs red cause it can stabilize your board and make attack and defense at the same time.

    • @Arstall
      @Arstall  10 дней назад

      Yeah I like it the most in the mirror in theory but haven't tried it yet

  • @ImmortalCatlover
    @ImmortalCatlover 10 дней назад +5

    First! I think it would be more rational to cover plat->mythic since platinum is the first league where you get +1/-1 for win/lose which means winrates will be less inflated by wins on less skilled players who managed to climb with negative win ratio. But maybe I am wrong. Cheers!

    • @Arstall
      @Arstall  10 дней назад +4

      It's a valid point, but I've found the benefit of the increased sample size outweighs the potential winrate inflation. Also, the vast majority of matches are already occurring at platinum, and above, so the inflation isn't a huge problem (430,000 of the 570,000 matches were plat+ fwiw). Another upside is it shows how easy a deck is to pilot. If someone in bronze can get a positive winrate it says something to how easy the deck is to pilot. Almost every well-built deck can be piloted to mythic but some strategies are very intricate or difficult

    I made a standard mono red burn deck. Guttersnipe and corruscation mage with axonil does wonders with 2 boltwave. I thinking of making it izzet and adding that teach by example copy card and slick sequence. Blue and red is a cool color combo
    Boltwave
    Burst lightning
    Shock
    Corruscation mage
    Firebrand archer
    Grab the prize
    Slick sequence
    Teach by example
    Ojer axonil, deepest might

    • @Arstall
      @Arstall  8 дней назад

      Interesting build! I think Slick Sequence is especially nice since burn decks need a way to refuel/draw

    • @LoveisLight-n9r
      @LoveisLight-n9r 8 дней назад +1

      @@Arstall I realized that Grab the prize is basically a better slick sequence. So using the copy card on the prize is better. And you can discard slick sequence or shock. If you copy Grab the prize you only have to discard one card

  • @Clarity251
    @Clarity251 10 дней назад +2

    Shock instead of burst lightning? Weird

    • @Arstall
      @Arstall  10 дней назад

      We've talked about this throughout the weeks. The Burst Lighting is strictly better than shock but in a deck that wins by turn 4 it's impact is apparently minimal. I still would run Burst Lightning

      @kclysm88 10 дней назад

      I’m with you. The meta is kinda stale especially seeing how long we’ll have these cards for.
      Aetherdrift will likely shift the focus from red rush and enchantment centric decks to make space for artifacts/vehicles but I worry it’ll just be more of the same.

    • @kclysm88
      @kclysm88 10 дней назад +1

      @@ArstallSee frankly a single competitive deck gives a whole lot of room for brews to poach the top dog.
      When you’ve got 5 variations of one deck ( red/x/x aggro ) and what shakes out as an esper control deck with more moving pieces, they cover most of the bases.
      Control variants have mixed success in the meta, and basically all need a white base for viability thanks to Authority of the Consuls. I’ve had decent success with creatureless orzhov control, but if I don’t open well vs aggro it’s lights out.
